warrior commander
Dolyak signet is op but why the other one? Use balanced stance if you want to survive. Use sword/shield for leap and sword/wh for blast and mass condi clean. If you use traited stances and defiant stance you have ~17 sec block or invul + tons of dodges if you put energy sigil in your weapons and 3 points on last trait line.
Use horn for vigor. Dual dodge, weapon swap 3rd dodge. One stance, swap weapon while in stance, dodge 2, swap again, dodge, next stance, repeat. Use your shield block first if possible, because of the low recharge.
Just the WvW

5/6/3 is better, must have 5 sec weapon switch. Sod dualing sword. Hammer / Sword/Warhorn ftw. 3k hours commanding on warrior, wouldn’t change it for the world. Although it dies fast when a horde of angry desolonians focuses haha
Commanded with standard 5/6/3 shout heal build for last year. Mixed and matched gear and fine tuned. Can tank most zergs and win a large majority of 1vs1 that try gank me open field lol got a mix of soldiers, berserkers and knights, need more ascended WvW drops to remove rest of soldiers haha

Well if you want Hella Tank Mode, you want 2 points in strength for extra vitality. You also want the new Furious or Bountiful Sharpening Stones for the extra 100 vitality or toughness. Alternatively there’s Potions of Karka Toughness which grant 150 toughness and take up the utility slot.
That said, honestly nobody needs THAT much armour or health to survive. If you’re a competent player then a Warrior’s base health is more than enough and 2.8k (read: 2.9k the second you put 1 point into defense) is actually a lot of damage mitigation. That’s assuming you have a guardian or two in your party to keep boons on you. If you don’t then you may want 3 – 3.2k armour and you could honestly go to 20 – 25k HP, but the better you are at playing and commanding, the less health and toughness you need.
Just remember, while you can sit in that AoE and push through the enemy, not everyone else will be able to because of their own stats. It’s very easy to make this mistake while Commanding so you will have to be careful if you run this build.
You could honestly run something like this:

While offering your party some excellent support and buffs, you’ll be pretty tanky and do some great damage.
I’ve been commanding as a War for a little over a year, and I run a mix of knight’s, soldier’s, and berserker’s. 3.2k armor (no dolyak signet), 22k hp, and decent crit chance (57%). I run 0/2/6/0/6, and while that sounds weird, Rousing Resilience and Brawler’s Recovery offer excellent armor and condition removal (especially since Rousing Resilience auto-activates when using Balanced Stance). My weapon sets are sw+horn/hammer, utilities, balanced stance, endure pain (get out of jail card) and shake it off.
I can generally survive longer than the people I command, which is sometimes a good thing and sometimes a bad thing. I’d considered burst mastery over brawler’s recovery, for the flurry/hammer combo, but it’s just not worth giving up the condi clear.
I occasionally use dolyak signet instead of endure pain, but since endure pain still works as a stun breaker, I tend to prefer it.
Figuring out your build just takes time. It has to be a balance between damage, control effects, and of course survivability.
well if you REALLY want tanky i can give you that but i would suggest http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fJAQNBJhNaknjCQ7+w2D6QDkFUobgAo0V9DpjgToEA-TFCGABkittenA6TJItq/kkyPZ1HAwRAwj9HO+BAEA4AY+yX+5Ds8yLv8yL3yLv8yLvcpAqYZE-w instead it atleast brings team support to the party
but since you asked for tanky here http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fJAQRBHhl21ITHlh2FiVIkin4AZBF6GIAKd1/wKk6pyAA-T1RIAB0pEEgTqwsPpgVV/BIlfpq/pi9HCAcAMf5Lf5L/8zP/lXe5lXe5We5lXe5lLFQXLjA-w 4k toughness condition shedding like a baws insane stun breaks and blocks extra 1k toughness for a whopping 5k toughness for 8 seconds after each stunbreak. not to mention over 1k hp regen per second with full adrenaline. you asked for tanky right?
