Guild Wars 2

Trying to find some info on what exactly happens to gates in wvw on a reset.
I know that siege will be refreshed, often times a keep build will be bugged.
But , we were having a discussion on gates, if a gate is damaged it stays with that same damage? so if the gate is broken open, would it still be open or would it be closed partially repaired, or still open ?

A opened gate will remain open after a patch, only Friday reset will reset everything.
