If there was five things you could add into wvw, what would they be? (place a * next to your favourite one that you want the most) Note: these are things that you want, not necessarily ones that would improve wvw.
mine would be:

1. self chosen matchup system (where everyone can vote for what server they face)
2. a movement debuff for zergs numbering more than 20
3*. a nerf for condition spammers, so that conditions are just an occasional side effect and an inconvenience like they were in gw1. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Condition
4. rewards increased to make wvw profitable for players.
5. a curfue time so some servers can’t just wait until the night to cap everything.

1: WvW map completion and PvE map completion separated, with each giving a Gift of Exploration upon completion (as well as a separate completion star for WvW), so that way PvE-er’s don’t have to WvW for map completion (sorta) and WvW-er’s can’t complain that they have to PvE for map completion for the Gift of Exploration.

2: For zergs to go away, along with those jerks who just chase you all around the map when you try to leave a fight when it’s stacked horribly against you. (Never happening, I know.)

3: To be able to get away better from a fight when the odds are stacked against me.

4: Badges of Honor dropping more from those supervisors, more of them from the jumping puzzle chests, and for them to be renamed WvW badges, because you never get them for being honorable anyway.

5: For WvW to be fun. (Oh wait, that’s never happening either.)

Those are my 5 (maybe 6?) things. Although, only 1 and 4 could happen, but they probably won’t.

1. A faction vs faction or guild vs guild set up, where people pick what faction or main guild they fight for before they enter “WvW”, your guilds still exist

2. Ability to see how many people from each Guild or Faction are on each map so you can choose accordingly before you enter

(1st 2 take care of your balance, que, outnumbered and skill lag issues)

3. Remove downed state

4. Legendaries only relative to WvW meaning they cannot be obtained through mats from PvE or PvP, only WvW. So probably, things need to be added to maps, and maps expanded.

5. Achievements relative to each map that change every few weeks (kind of like how the season achievements worked) except achievements for each map.

I definitely would like for WvW map completion to be separate from the PvE map completion. If your server is going on a decline, you’ll never get your 100%.

1. Balanced Matches
2. Different maps for different leagues
3. Rewards such armors and weapons like ascendant or legendary without doing PvE, because players that don’t play PvE but just WvW, can not have.
4. A warning that advise how many people there are in queue in each border, so again, people that don’t play PvE can queue directly where they have to wait less time.
5. There are tons and tons of PvE games and few decent WvW, just give to WvW the same attention given for the PvE area.

1. Increase the amount of players allow on EB by 100% muhahahaha =P
2. Weaken the amount of damage dealt to Gates by 50%-60% Only affects players to avoid fast PVD.
3. Give players stats buff when inside own towers or keeps by 50%, and health increase by 100%. (keeps ya safe when outnumbered) XD
4. Limit amount of players from other server allow on your boarderland by 20% XD
5. Allow players on ones server to vote for which server they want to face next week (majority wins) XD

And what do you propose for those people living in parts of the world where “night time” is the only time they can play? The game doesn’t revolve around you unfortunately, and when I get in game, I expect to be able to play it like every one else no matter what timezone I’m in.

The only thing I really want introduced in wvw is the ability to get ascended equipment without resorting to any pve matt farming at all.

It really doesn’t matter as these types of threads have existed since launch over a year ago. While they (ANet) have tried a few things and added and subtracted some other things. It’s still the same and it will never change, Reason, they (ANet) have gone, IMHO, to the process of making the SPvP their child, along with the events they add all the time.

Why do they do that, they must have some sort of metric that shows they make more money, however they make it, by doing the things they are currently doing.

WvW is an after thought, an extension in the Dev’s mind of their PvE. Do they want the negative responses in the forums to go away, certainly that’s why they are changing the forums this month. So everything, will be coming up roses and daffodils here on the GW2 forums. Utopia will exist throughout the game and then world Peace can be accomplished.

I think this was more for fun, and to share ideas. I do agree with you though.

5 things I’d like to see…

1) More server variation in match ups.
2) A more accurate ranking system.
3) More camp/tower/keep/castle features
4) WvW specific commanders tags that are color coded to differentiate purpose(scouting, alternate zerg, roaming party location etc etc etc).
5) Homefield advantage of 5-10% population cap over the other BLs or EB.

1. less sieges. 9 sup ac, 3 treb, 1 cata and a 2 ballista i think a little too much for a tower.
2. body block. if 50 men cant stack we can say goodby to mindless zergs.
3. ascendeds for badges or some crafting or mystic forge thing what involve badges.
4. profession balance. i want my friends to ask me to play with my ranger again.
5. something fancy wvw only loot or reward. invaider things are meh. i will be totaly ok with a fractal skin just with diferent color or something.

Its not one thing, its a shift in ideology that is needed.

WvW needs a competitive focus, play needs to be challenging. Until those are the goals of ANET the game will just flounder about being a playground for those content to play follow the leader every night pretending its epic.

1. Balance the match ups (though I have no idea who to balance servers like Vabbi)
2. Add/modify game mechanics to discourage zerging (ie less loot/xp for karma trains).
3. Make outnumbered buff less of a joke.
4. Upgraded structures should last longer, what is the point of running upgrades when a zerg can deal enough dmg to remove cannons/oil in few seconds, same with reinforced gates. Servers with low population have very little chance to defend anything when enemy zerg arrives.
5. Separate wvw from pve – if adding any ascended items that can be obtained only from wvw, make them usable only in wvw. Last thing I want to see again are pvers moaning in map chat about getting pois or how many yaks they have to kill for achivement points.

4. Revisit siege caps after the introduction of superior siege
5. Address line of sight issues from the top and edges of towers

9. Loot bags no longer dependent on spamming “AOE loot on interact” every second

it’s hard to not be offensive when you suggest dumb stuff like this. you sound like some of my guild mates that just want to nerf conditions into the ground so they can heavytrain and mash their #1 even harder without disruption.

btt:
pretty much everything Marzattackz mentioned, except for the increased AoE-cap.

my favourites:
1.a better, separate balancing
2.rewards that are more equal to pve: easier ways to get ascended, more silver, more uses for badges, exclusive stuff (and stop making everything accountbound or unsalvageable ffs)
3.downed/death: you can only rez dead ppl out of combat and outside of enemy buildings. harsher penatly when you were downed and rallied. limited number of ppl that can rally off a kill
4.more interesting maps: different borderlands, rework of the ruins and the buff: the buff is kitten and barely anyone actually caps the ruins
5.some sort of penalty for heavy blobbing
6.about sieging: ppl on walls should have an advantage over enemies outside. it’s ridiculous how attackers can cover the entire wall in AoE but you can barely fight back. funny how the 3 entrances to the lords room of stonemist are a far better line of defense than the 2 walls. maybe changing the way line of sight is calculated would already help a lot.

You forgot a few things.

6. A nerf to hammer warriors, and I don’t mean the joke of Dec 10th last year but the real thing to bring hammer trains under control.

7. Nerf to auto attack white damage so that zergs actually have to use their available skills/traits/builds to do damage their opponents not just auto cleave.

I would like to see # 6 and 7 implimented.

Also, dynamically scaling PPT system and reward system (Tower Keep Lord reward drops etc.) based on percentages of players present on a map.

Also, dynamically scaling server transfer costs based on WvW rankings with double transfer costs to T1 servers, free transfers to T8 servers and all else falling between accordingly.

1 Bug/glitch fixing, funny they come with new LS crap but these small things wont be fixed
2 AC camera lock, its stupid u can tweak it and aim inside keeps/towers to destroy siege
3 remove PvD from fortified structures, this should be done with siege only
4 Revamp borderlands, right now they favor big blobs as only the mid/southmid of the map being used and to easy to circle around the towers/keeps
5 diminishing return on CCC, i know we have stunbreakers and stability etc but still there should be some kind of DR on it, no dont want to nerf it into ground but people should waste a cd instead of mindlessly spamming their cc and get away without being penalized for it

2 – better graphics as in high res 4k skin textures, ambient occulsion, tesselation, dynamic shadows, high res enviromental textures (2k to avoid massive lag), FXAA/PP-FXAA (Bloom mods)

1. Randomize destination when using portal, 0-35% of distance ported, any direction.
2. Make players push friendly players away (like opposite pole magnets).
3. Add 1.5% chance to die when entering stealth.
4. Rename Ranger class to Nigel (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Nigel_no_friends).
5. Add 1.5% to die in a devastating explosion (that injures everyone in radius, friend and foe) when using flame thrower , meteor storm, etc.
6. Add 1.5% chance of getting “hit thumb” condition when using hammer. Immobilized 2 seconds, appropriate animation of holding thumb and *%^&(^$!
7. Add 1.5% chance that at the start of a week that the WvW hosting for a server will be on the US/EU server of the same position. i.e. all Blackgate (US 1) people would get to WvW on Seafarer’s Rest (EU 1) for a week. For EU >= 24 add a random chance to swap with the lowest 3|4 US servers.
8. Add 1.5% chance that will happen to anyone when they login to WvW on any given day.

GW2 balance:
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.

1. better commander tag options/abilities
2. much more improved wxp rewards for defense.
3. add better drops from players. I know this could lead to farming, but put a timer on it or something similar.
4. remove crafting, npc etc stations in home BL. Find you end up with a ton of folks using the home BL as a hub, and not actually helping anyone. Just afk or crafting there.
5. more stealth counters. Allow us to spend wvw points into passive abilities to detect stealth (within a radius and without it being 100%)

1. I would experiment with collision detection (only in combat) to change the flow of battle. Now zergs are running through each other which is confusing…
2. Locking towers, camps for few minutes (timers on map)
3. More commander options (map drawing, setting points on map)
4. Mounts, mounts, mounts. I run with one weapon set only to get leap and quickness.
5. Borderlands map diversity (even theming would be nice).

1. Less time to get WvW titles, perhaps 1-2 years instead of the rest of your life, literally in my case!
2. Make defending towers, keeps and stonemist far more important meaningful.
3. A ‘interesting’ open field area, which is important for some reason to fight over. Standing in ruins forever is boring.

5. Consider a entire waterworld map, for those of us who do like water combat. Plus, possibly ships with cannons…

1. Take out ppt.
2. Make wvw gvg centric.
3. Give every tower a wp.
4. Take out sigil stacks and orb bonus.
5. Make siege spam impossible.

Team Deathmatch for PvP – Raise the AoE cap for WvW – More unique events for PvE

1. Multiple commander levels
2. Elite class of siege that times out in 3 hrs instead of 1 hr
3. 3X bigger EB map with greater distance between the keeps and SMC, more towers and supply camps
4. WXP for defense roles
5. Higher quality loot
