let’s think about this for a second here, the team who owns the base has a little magical portal they can go in.

so why does the tower need a gate. nobody even uses it. IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. even dolyaks know to use teleporters.

I believe the portals are supposed to represent what they called “Postern gates” which were concealed doorways allowing access in or out of a castle.
