Hi,

im thinking at some point of coming back to wvw, this time with actual appropriate gear as opposed to slumming it in my pve gear

I will probably try out both my Ele and Necro ( or happy to swap into the elite specs if better) is there some easy to get hold of armor stats that will be best for these classes? Im not getting ascended gear and I don’t really want to craft expensive 4 attribute gear if I can avoid it.

I always defaulted to soldiers gear in the past if I needed to supplement by zerker pve gear but im unsure that’s a good stats choice for Ele and Necro, any advice appreciated!

Unfortunely for you, the most effective stats ARE the 4 stats HoT gear… Altho some are rather cheap (wanderer, marauders, viper) compared to others (trailbrazzers, minstrel).

For your build needs you can always look at metabattle and adapt it to your own playstyle.

As far as I know there’s a balance patch coming up next week or the next weeks, I would wait for that before deciding what gear to get.

Yes, please wait a couple of weeks a lot of indicators favor a balance change incoming. What it may consist of or if its going to happen is in the air at this point. As far as stats goes find something affordable your willing to invest in that can be used in with another build for now and make those charged quartz crystals if you don’t have a stockpile already.

For necro, if you plan on running with the zerg try zerker and see how you do. Generally Marauder > Berserker these days but provided you position yourself well you should be ok. If you feel a bit too glassy try swapping in a bit of Valkyrie until you feel comfortable. You’re there to do damage though, so you want to be specced as offensively as you can be while surviving.

Whether you go base Necro or Reaper is up to you, though Reaper Shroud does offer access to stability and some mobility, so that’s better for getting out of tight spots.

I’ve only ever played backline ele, and even then not much (so I stand to be corrected), but the same principle applies. You want to be as offensive as you feel comfortable with, so zerker with as much soldier as you feel you need mixed in is the way to go.

Marauder gear isn’t too expensive. I’d get a set of marauders armor + soldier’s / cavalier’s/ crusader’s for the ele and play that , along with Durability/Trooper runes.

If necro just run wells necro with a power build using marauder stats and some cavalier’s trinkets.

Trailblazer’s / Viper’s is super expensive if you want to run condi necro. Dire / carrion / rabid would work okay if you can pick up trinkets from Bloodstone fen or something.
