hi guys, i want to know if which is more popular and useful in wvw zerg? mesmer or elementalist? and why? thanks!

why is that?

Mesmer has a few specific tasks that it must repeat. The Ele has a great deal more freedom.

ele is more usefull to the user mesmer is the most usefull class in the game for the zerg so personal vs greater good both are in short supply in most servers since a majority of players play either warrior or guardian

how about in dungeons, which is more useful?

and pvp? which is more popular?

Ele’s can be a real powerhouse in a dungeon, the damage is great. Mesmer is better at spvp. But you could just make a level 2 alt and take him into pvp where everybody is the same level.

You can probably find enjoyment out of either class.

Mesmer will be a veil bot, or for portal. I refuse to do that but some people aks me to do certain skills.

More AOE and valuable combo fields.

In zergs I notice commanders are always wishing they had more mesmers. Elementalists have more tasks and are important, but mesmers are clutch and provide the advanced tactics that allow smaller zergs to stomp bigger ones.

The thing is a zerg will always have enough eles, often times there is only one mesmer, or maybe non on Team Speak anyways.

Ele can do more things in Zerg. Can heal, can kill, can destroy siege, can soften enemy Zerg, etc. Mesmer doesn’t fight well in Zerg, his advantage of clones is negated, his damage potential is much lower, but can focus pull people off battlements, stealth his entire Zerg, insta port them from one place to another. Mesmer has a few key tasks that he and only he can do, but none of these really involve fighting. He’s just “a tool”. Ele will enjoy himself killing things.

In PVP it’s the exact opposite. Mesmer is god, Ele is lower than crud.

In pve, Eles do massive damage at the expense of dying as soon as someone breathes on them. Mesmers are much more survivable and also do great in all other tasks including killing enemies, fighting bosses, utility with portals, etc. bunker Eles don’t really contribute much in dungeons.

You know, this is one of the reasons I sometimes hate playing mesmer in dungeons. Some people are so obnoxious, they will ask you to do this and that with portal or feedback or whatever. Thief also has this problem sometimes with SR, but come on we are people to we have feelings! We are not bots. Hahaha!
