Halloween Pail price
It’s a totally unnecessary piece of equipment that barely even qualifies to be considered cosmetic. I don’t understand the obsession with it.

There’s no obsession with the item. There’s a completely understandable reaction to the current Anet’s pricing policy. Especially since it’s not the first time they did it.

That’s the point. Why make it prohibitively expensive when there’s not even a visual upgrade? If it were a 22 slot bag or something otherwise unattainable, then perhaps there would be a reason to farm for it, but as it stands… why is it even here?

Because we can’t be angry about both?

From my understanding and from what I’ve read. It’s to burn off last years inventory. By the time Halloween was done there was Millions and millions of it left over and hardly anything worth making. I beg to differ from there being nothing worthy to make , but that’s just me.
That’s partially why you don’t see Candy corn nodes on your minimap in Tyria. Mad king’s realm is a different story. The nodes are still there, just not highlighted.

Agreed. I don’t care about not being able to get the item, but I do care that it’s presented as a normal, reasonable thing. If it were just the miniature, I could even buy its function as a gold/candy sink, since it’s an exclusive item, but given that the bag is also super expensive, with next tokno collector’s value over a regular 20-slot bag, it feels like the costs for both items, as well as the Halloween weapon recipes, were picked out of thin air without regard for their balance with what players earn from playing Halloween content. It’s a shame to see such potentially fun content hamstrung by a questionable decimal point.
My main suggestion is why not just make it account bound and limited.
The laurel merchant shows that they can limit the amount that you can buy something. And last years Halloween shows that they can make soul bound bags (the 10 slot soul bound ones we got last year). Why not just reduce the cost, but also restrict the number that you can buy. I don’t see what’s wrong with a ~5k (or even 1k) candy corn for a bag that is either account bound or soul bound.
I mean Anet have already given out bags before (10 slot from Halloween, 15 slot for wintersday, 20 slot for karka event), 18 slot bags are almost nothing on the tp, and you can get “free” 20 slot bags from fractals, so there really isn’t a bag market that you can ruin. And if the purpose is to eat up candy corn from the economy, isn’t having many people spending 1k-5k better than less people sending 15k?
