What if the introduction of the “Bloody Prince” was a prelude to the final release of Mad King Thorn. With the “Blood” Prince taking the place of his Father in future Halloween event’s this would “Free” the lore writers to finally allow the Inquisition to break the last seal. Thus allowing The King too roam the Tyria freely and wreak havoc. The Mad King would be a perfect Villain for the “Living Story” and with his past history with Palawa Joko the possibilities would be massive.

Hope Mad King Thorn hijacks Scarlet since it would be hilarious!

I think Scarlet is already under the Mad King’s influence. He broke her mind while she was “astral projecting” in that short story. She’s unknowingly already his servant, and her actions are all leading up to breaking the seal for him.

I appreciate the comments, but what does “Scarlet” have to do with anything I said?

Some are hoping the Mad King kicks her out of the Living Story. Others think she may be his pawn. (I’m hoping on the former.)

This has potential, but I’ll wait and see.

Well, he’d be a better “crazy” villain than the current one for the Living Story. I don’t know how he’d fit outside of Halloween though. I guess this is where experimentation comes in handy.

I really like this spin too my idea, however the only reason I state that TMK should be freed. Is because of the lore behind his freedom, The Lunatic court have been trying to free TMK for over 250 Years. It would seem kind of pointless to write this into lore and then do nothing about it.

Mad King has been in GW1 since 2006, I believe. I highly doubt they would remove him from his Halloween tradition. Honestly I would be pretty disappointed too…

Not that I like Scarlet or the living story in its current state…I just think Mad King and Halloween go together and breaking a tradition like that would be disappointing.

Considering Prince Edrick’s style, I’m going to guess that he shows up as a permanent LS villain. A Joker type if you will…. Scarlet will fall in love with him, and obey his every command, truly making her the Harley Quinn of GW2.

I think they are both going to bond as they come to heads with each other.

You guys are forgetting that the Mad King is not evil, he just likes to have fun. Remember that he helped us stop Dhuum and Joko at one point.

Have you read his history? He’s not a good guy. The main reason why he ‘helped’ stop Joko was because he disliked him more than Joko disliked Turai.

Palawa Joko doesn’t WANT to come back… He’s been back for 250 years. He came back in Nightfall. I’m guessing that the someone else that they mentioned was either the Bloody Prince, or someone more along the lines of Vizier Khilbron. Either way, it makes for interesting story implications.

if you want a keeper from the underworld doing some living story outside of halloween shouldnt you guys consider Dhuum? btw still miss the “ban hammer” Dhuum in action best day ever in guild wars one will never forget it! i mean who can say no to this guy? Dhuum

I think Mad king isn’t involved in LS lore. In this halloween we’ll see Oswald and his son fighting each other for the realm and in the next year The Skeletal Lich, Grand High Viscount of Candy Corn, and the Labyrinthine Horror will make their move.
It’s gonna be like A Song of Ice and Fire. Who will sit on the Throne of Candy corn?
