Ok so i got the reward, double clicked, did some voodoo shiny light thingy..and i was expecting a node to appear. I am a sylvari so i tried LA first then i went to the Grove (home capital). I still can’t find it :<

Am i missing something?

Where is it in Rata Sum? Nothing looks changed on the map, i cant see anything.

In case you’re wondering… it’s your Personal Instance (Home Instance) that it’s located in.

You can also harvest your node in ANY of the races home instances, regardless of your characters race. But you can only harvest one node per day (once harvested, the other home instances will not spawn the node).

So is this a one use item? Or is it permanent?

One time use that leaves a permanent, respawning node in the character you used it in’s home instance.

Wait, so is it once per account? So I have to log into the same character to access it and if I delete that character it’s gone forever?

all characters on the account have access, but you can only mine it once per day per account

Ha I didn’t even know we had a home instance, figured those maps were just empty places with nothing to do inside.

Can someone explain to me why the heck I could mine quartz with my human necro in the asuran home instance?

Seriously? That’s all for the achievement? Totally not worth it…

considering there doesn’t seem to be a way to get quartz once the bazaar leaves i consider pretty good

You get mail that tells you exactly where to go, yet people ask (you even see a giant envelope on your screen when you log in).

The item discription says a node will start to appear in your home instance, yet people ask where it’s going to be.

Your story missions lead you to your home instance and I’m pretty sure it says home instance on the map in every capital except LA (as there isn’t one), yep people are oblivious to its existence (though, I blame Anet for that as the home instance is pretty much just an empty space).

I can imagine it can be quite frustrating on Anet’s side seeing that they provide as much info as they can but still that seems to never be enough. ^^’

To be fair, I was running around Queensdale a bit last night. Several people asked where the home instance was. Most of the time, you could say “For humans, it’s the Salma District” and they’d know exactly what you’re talking about — “oh there, why didn’t they say so?” (and the obvious reason is that it’d be cumbersome: “Activates a quartz node in the Salma District for humans, Applied Development Lab for asura, Hero’s Canton for charr, etc etc”. oog)

Also, for a lot of people they simply didn’t know the names of the zones. They did their personal story, but just followed the bouncing green arrow to lead them in the right direction.

This is one of the times that I think a quick mail message with the “Show me” feature would really help.

Far as I see it, you people been given the shortest end of the stick ever been offered a human soul in this crap-heel ‘verse. But you took that end, and you – well, you took it. And that’s – Well, I guess that’s somethin’. (crowd mutters un-enthused agreement)

This isn’t a reward at all. Its not worth the time it takes to mine 3 quartz crystals. Far better to play the game as you normally would and buy the crystals off the trading post. Especially when the crystal drop in price.

I think people are ignoring the underside to this. Not only will the Quartz at the bazaar not be around forever, limiting an armor set without this precious resource. It’s the ground and framework for Player Owned Housing. Honestly, they just added a foreign object to our home instances, something that has not been down yet. This is a framework and test for adding more and maybe, eventually houses themselves.

When I get my sanctum model, I just wish I could place it (and leave it) in my home instance as well…. make it so I can decorate my home instance with little things like that.

I went to my home instance (dreamer’s terrace) and there is NO NODE…any suggestions. I have never farmed a node from a home instance yet.

I’m glad you guys started featuring the home instances and I hope this is just the first step and more really cool stuff (the node is ok, but not everyone wants Celestial atributes) will come.

We were in a situation that you had to come and remind everyone where their home instance was supposed to be because they didn’t even know about them. At the start of development home instances were supposed to be a big feature so I hope you keep with this direction
