“Well, I can say that the reactor was the first prototype of the Inquest attempt to build something. Somewhat similar to what players find in the Crucible of Eternity later in the game. And the location where the Thaumanova Reactor was at one point in time exploded and destroyed what was once a research lab and turned, I would say, turned the world inside out where it occurred. I can’t give away too much more than that. I would say that if people want to know more, they should vote for Ellen and find out. Either way, it’s definitely something that ties more deeply into the lore of Guild Wars 2 than most would realize.

There have already been three GW1 games full of human god storylines, is it too much to ask that GW2 has an original storyline about something different?

I need to know what happened with thaumanova, I’m sure that have much more that what we can imagine. And by the way, Inquest continue with us in guild wars 2. What need I have with abaddon? Your “Human gods” are long forgotten, they abandoned you, its worthless past. If you want to know what hapenned to your ancient gods, go the gw1 wiki. There is where you find Gw1 Lore.

Seriously? …Seriously? Magic works however the creators deem it works, so you need to toss out your preconceptions built up from tired traditional fantasy habits. The only reason magic works that way in other areas of fantasy is because those involved with its creation were too lacking in creativity to think of another way to deal with it. They went with the established base because they knew people like yourself would love it for no other reason than it seemed more magical or something.

What the asura use is magic, what the charr use is steampunk scifi style stuff.

Get over it. Also, don’t tell me wizards don’t use labs. There are plenty of tales of wizards holed up in book-ridden places with the occasional alchemical apparatus conducting research into old magic. The only difference with the asura is that they’re not reliant on musty old tomes for their research, they have a knack for seeing the flow of magical energy and creating devices that tap it or capture it to be channeled into their intricate devices.

If you think digging around in preestablished magical research for the right little terms and waving wands about is more compelling, then well, good for you, but that’s not the only way to do magic.

this will be a pointless and empty of lore Inquest place. As much is COE in the story line what do you guy think will be a fractal?

The fall of abbadon is where everything start. I bet Anet is pushing kiel to win since one reactor fractal willl be just a recycle place.

Nope…

We aren’t going to learn anything from a Thaumanova fractal. Fractals are echoes/representations of the past so nothing we learn will be accurate and will just be further speculation. It’s pointless to vote on the fractals based on lore. What’s more important is the experience we get in the fractals and honestly, we have enough asura labs in this game. We know what happens in the fall of abaddon, but the experience will be a lot more epic and original.

Thaumanova Reactor incident is most likely related to the Asuran Portal technology. I think when someone uses an Asuran portal gate to travel from one place to another, they have to travel through a “tunnel” that exist in another dimension. This dimension is connected to the rifts created when the reactor blew.

I would like to see gw1 pre lore thing and gods fighting against abaddon more than somekind of explosion (puff ) in somekind of asuran (female artist character fan boy/girl flowers and pony running happily creature with cute ears thingy nonsense garbage) laboratory in somekind of low level area. Also we have gotten this kind of content already. Gods fighting abaddon in desolation area in mouth of torment sounds more cool than that asura trying create pre alpha creature (we have CoE already but we don’t have any gods).

Yes, their technology comes largely from magic. It’s not overdone, boring as hell “traditional” magic, but all Asura do in fact use magic.

I’d argue if Abbadon had created magic originally, that would likely put him well above many divine beings and thus I doubt he would have been defeated.

…You do realize that Thieves use magic, right? All that swirly black stuff around every Thief skill? That’s magic. Maybe you were looking for Warrior?
Also, Abaddon merely gifted magic to the mortals of Tyria, he didn’t create it. I mean, gods practically are magic, for them to exist means that magic exists.
But I guess that’s a whole other conversation that I shouldn’t dip into…

You’ve got it all wrong mate, thieves use denial magic, same as mesmers, shadowsteps and stealth are pure magic. Its even possible that the abbadon fractal would boost magic, therefore, a vote for Evon is a vote for more perma stealth thieves
