Agreed! I love the staff skin but it would be even more ah-mazing if it had hearts falling from it — kind of like the leafy/feathery particles that fall from Kasmeer’s staff. Ooo can’t this be added? You know you want to… :-)

Heh what a amusing and pretty niffy set, but I probably pass, maybe look into the greatsword some more. That and pistol are probably my favorite (I good with what I have pistol wise through), and shield is pretty amusing.:P Was hoping to maybe get the sword which is nice looking too, but I wanted it to be a bit shorter so it doesn’t clip in the ground on a charr.:x

I’d like them better if it wasn’t pink girly hearts. I’m not a girly sort of woman, I prefer a bit more edge and darker styled weapons. I suggested possibly making the hearts black for those of us who are willing to buy the skins but I highly doubt that’ll happen.

+1. XD I’m impressed by the detail and style of these weapons, but sadly they don’t suit the aesthetic themes I’m going for on my characters, so I’m passing on them.

Although, if anybody’s got a pink/red Heart-styled female Guardian that’s going to use these weapons, send me screenshots!

When I first heard about the new weapon set I honestly expected some really tacky stuff (ya know, with the whole heart theme and whatnot) but they are actually quite nice and elegant in their design. Shame they’re stuck behind lame RNG chests and will undoubtedly go for an insanely high amount on the TP like the other BLC weapons.

Still wish we could dye weapons though but at least the color combination, IMO, works.

I really like the look of them. To me they feel a bit gothic/victorian with the dark metal together with the red gems. I will surely try to get hold of a few of these.

I love the design of These weapons, although I don’t really have a character to use them with. Been thinking about the pistols anyway. I always wanted pistols that looked more real or Colt like.

But sadly Anet tries to sell RNG boxes again… I mean… seriousely… Keys were a few percents off… until the day before patch day. Usually we got a patch preview, this time we didn’T get one. So anyone who might have gotten some keys now has to pay the full Price. Leaves a bitter taste imho… Plus, hey ANet, V-Day is coming, couldn’t you at least ONCE let us pick the weapon of our choice directly from the Gemstore? Even at 500Gems each? Would have made a better gift anyway.

I don’t really feel like spending incredible amounts of Gold or real Money on These chests. THere’s too much stuff in there that doesn’t even feel useful, nor worth the Money/Gold. Plus I’m tired of paying other People for their luck, really.

Whenever there’s a chest with Special loot (weapon boxes, minipets, Skins and so on) I have to buy them from TP because even with 133 percent MF accountwide my luck seems to be the worst ever on such things, so my Gold sink is high enough. x_X

I really gets annoying. Not to mention the fact that 5 tickets per weapon at a later times is… well no coment… you could make up the costs for yourselves…

I don’t really have a Problem with the cash shop, as you can also use ingame Gold to buy stuff you want on there, but I’m not willing to go with this RNG stuff anymore.

Then don’t break it :p. I really love the shield skin. I bought it, but I don’t have a character that uses shield so I’m making an engi.

then dont buy rng items. you can buy them from tp with gold directly. i dont see the problem.

My engi before going into fight with this new weapons!

When i first saw the pictures of the new weapon skins i was like “uh… hearts? really? whyyy?” then i browsed through all of them and found the style much more gothic-like, and not barbie-like. I really liked the sword and longbow (i think longbow has some of the most awesome skins in this game) and couldn’t decide what to get for my ranger as i just traited over from longbow… but i got that bow skin in the end, i just couldn’t resist. So i used up the 10 BL ticket scraps that i gathered so slowly over half a year or so…. xP
Btw, i think the heart is not so bad, from a distance you can only see that something is glowing red.

Sorry to crash the appreciation party but I find them pretty tacky. I loved the toxic weapons but those heart thingies are… meh not my thing I guess…

Bows should have shot heart arrows or something like that.
Guns shoot hearts?

That kind of particle effects are the stuff legendaries are made of.

And how would a guardian be fitted with this shield? I really like the Lovestruck skin, but I am afraid that it will look horrible just like 95% of all the shields as soon as our own shield of virtue pops up.

Does anyone have a guardian to show with the new shield + the virtue shield on top of it? If it clips out I am sadly not getting this shield.

my friend got some claim tickets and tried out these new skins, they are great.. someone else told me they sold a few for a bunch of gold.. i spent a ton of gems and have no claim tickets, i’ll get them by bidding what little gold i have left.. what a great system, happy heart holidays everyone, i love this game

Never go for the RNG- apart from the fact that it is horribly stacked against you, I find the whole idea of spending money on chance for something questionable.

So always go for the gold option- I really want the pistols for my Engi, but it will have to be off the TP so it will take a while.

Hearts aside which makes it harder to match on characters the designs look actually really stunning and to my taste.
I need some of these for my mesmer at some point, and maybe one or the other for my salads aswell.

These are my new favourite weapons in the game! OK, the hearts could go, but everything else, the detail, the colour, the design …. Oh my word – I HAVE TO HAVE THEM! Just wish I had more money/gold for the chests …

Absolutely hideous every last one of them. Those kind of weapons have absolutely no place in an epic fantasy game where we fight elder dragons for survival.

I like them but unfortunately they don’t really go with any of my characters at the moment.

although I am not against romanticism, and I do appreciate the design of the new gear, I also feel that it somehow undermines the overall epic atmosphere of the battle for survival against Dragons

Someone showed me the Lovestruck Protector ingame.

I am relieved to confirm that Guardians can wear this shield without having to worry about clipping animations from Virtue of Courage! I rests on the shield nicely.

The detail is really good (like the hammer) but the glowing pink heart kills it for me.

I love all the skins, thank you ArenaNet!

Before I get myself one of these skins I need to find some dyes that match these as midnight yew didn’t.

On my Sailor Jupiter xD they look stunning.

I love the designs, especially that gothic touch, and I don’t see what’s wrong with releasing some valentine’s themed weapons. I’m just sad that it’s gem store and RNG again, and nothing I can work towards. I’m not so rich I can just buy them off the trading post either…

Thats gonna probably be the thinking of the general public. I know its my thought. Wish they’d go back to the one time they did release individual direct purchase skins in the gemstore (wintersday 2012 ones).

I think these weapons have a lovely design, I’m quite sad I hit 80 on my Guardian a week ago and already spend 200g on her looks, making it a tough descision to change now. They don’t fit any of my other toons either. Could we try something new and let the weapon-designers try armours aswell? ^^

Did you get any ticket scraps? You can use 10 ticket scraps to convert into a Claim Ticket and buy one skin from the BLT Specialist.

Hallmark must have offered ANET a pretty penny for ANET to push the Valentine’s theme this hard lol

Now about those GW1 weapon and armor skins… we’re still waiting on those.

Those weapons look excellent! I’m not a fan of the hearts and they don’t fit any of my characters in the slightest, but the design is (ha) lovely!

I hope they’ll one day make similar, more neutral designs without the heart theme, then I will likely have a purpose for my single claim ticket

I’m mildly surprised to say I like the design. I’m not normally a fan of hearts or pink/red in general (although I made an exception for Pink Day in LA) but these look really good.

I’m not sure I’d ever use them myself (although my ele does have a red theme going) but they’re a very nice set.

I had a rather mixed reaction to the new skins.

First stage (after reading the announcement): Ohhh shiny! New skins!
Second stage (after seeing them, though I admit the name should have been a giveaway): What the…? o_O
Third stage after looking at them more closely: Though don’t actually sponsor a toon wheere they would fit the theme, they are indeed very nicely done skins. Especially like the sword, shield and pistol.
I f I had enough tickets I might actually – after some consideration – be tempted to rearrange the theme of either my thief or my mesmer for the skins, but since my number of tickets is too limited I’ll refrain from that.
(And silently hope that the next set of ticket-weapons will be equally nice.)
