yea I think our Raisin was named Rolan
yea I think our Raisin was named Rolan
I hope his name was not Rollan.
When I saw this conversation in Vigil’s Keep it made me cry.
But if that poor little fellow’s name was Rollan, then he is dead. And this is his mother:

Get it sorted Anet we want Raisin back please

Uhhh… That’s not at the refugee camp though. I think that progeny was always there in Applenook.
I admit that I may have some bias towards thinking Raisin Face is dead since I never really liked the little twerp. I think it would be especially poignant if both Drax Tinderstrike and Rollan turned out to be the pair near the bank though.
Well i sure hope someone died in the attack, for now it seems everyone and their grandmother survived-its kinda silly.
Where did you get that idea? All the main characters survived… but of course they all knew the attack was coming so that makes sense.
Otherwise we only saved ~1500 people lore wise. Since the city has a population of ~50,000 I’d say that quite a few people died…
Let’s not forget the enemy casualties… I’m pretty sure i’ve killed more aetherblades then come countries have people.
I’m just wondering how Lion’s Arch even had a population of 1500 before let alone 50k, there couldn’t have been more than 2 dozen residential buildings in the whole city.
Consider what percent of population is military force. How many lion guard do you see and speculate on how many citizens it takes to support that kind of military. and from that you can get a rough size of LA population.
Concerning the safety of kids: I noticed how Ogres, Dolyaks and Lighthouse workers had a “x alive” counter during events, but only the children had a morale meter. That means that only the children won’t actually get slaughtered during the event. Also, all the citiziens we need to encourage and safely guide out are adults too.
That doesn’t prevent Anet from just mentioning little raisin face’s demise in a dialog though… I tried to find a screenshot or video with his name in it to see if his name actually was Rollan, but I haven’t found any yet.
Edit: About the representation of the “true size of LA”: To me LA is as big as I see it. Even if they do representative scales the size I see is the scale I feel.

It is the same character model, though, just as Drax’s character model is the same as that of the guard:
From watching the video I note that the guard’s voice is slightly deeper than that of Drax, but since Drax was suffering from the effects of the miasma that’s somewhat understandable.

Also consider we don’t see inside of many of the buildings, and there is always a form of gameplay limits. IE, it doesn’t really take less then ten minutes to go from vigil keep to LA. Also travelers. who knows how many people in the city each day are there on business from another city through the gate, arriving/leaving by Boat, or simply land travel hiking into town.

Yeah there’s gameplay limitations but look at Divinity’s Reach, that is a city, buildings everywhere. Within the Lion’s Arch zone most people past the Eastern Ward waypoint consider themselves “outside Lion’s Arch” By all rights the city of Lion’s Arch proper takes up maybe 1/3 of the actual zone, It’s not much larger than the Ascalon Settlement all told.
I guess I’ve just always been disappointed with the in game Lion’s Arch after reading about it in the books and being teased with how impressive a city Divinity’s Reach is. Hopefully when they rebuild it it’s an actual city.
I gave up on saving kids from Lion’s Arch. They seriously put the slowest, most idiotic Lionguards in charge of those kids. It takes them FOREVER to reach the exit, and they spend more time going backwards than forwards, going out of their way to attack Aetherblades that aren’t even in their path.
The kids escort is pure torture, and it doesn’t even reward you with civilian progress, so screw the little turds. They can fend for themselves.
He might have slipped through (though I’m sure the devs did a thorough job of marking the unique npcs for representation). Given what they said about Taimi, children fighting in battle, and the ESRB, letting kids die is unkosher; so if the kid is AWOL now, he’ll likely turn up.
Doesn’t an Asura own that house with the forcefield? Maybe the kid lives or got refuge there.
Apparently there are loopholes in that philosophy as Taimi can be in combat if she’s piloting her mecha… er… golem. And children can die off screen since there is that Asura mother who talks about how her child died before they reached the camp. There is a good chance that Raisin Face is dead.
At least now we know the name of Mr “Squooshed Face”. Thank you for your service, Private Drax Tinderstrike. /salute
I don’t think Drax is him.. Drax was on Harbor Detail, So he would not have been posted near the bank

Drax might have been on break or off-duty (banking his pay?) when we run into him in LA though, but I’ll grant you that possibility.

I can’t disagree with you.
Why would they even have events like that to completely distract from the overall goal? It’s a nice change to have our characters acting heroic by saving civilians rather than just being combat-machines, but then they put in things like this which induce our characters to deliberately ignore children in need of help because the mechanics tell us to do something else. /shakeshead.
