Lion’s Arch has been the central free city for decades, where Tyrians of all races could do trade, and socialize. Me and my snowman companion have been hosting large community events in Lion’s Arch for many years.

I refuse to have it fall into the hands of some second rate cabbage. After we’ve evacuated the people of Lion’s Arch, I call all Tyrians to arms, to retake our city! This is our place, and I won’t let them take it from us. They may burn all the houses to the ground, or sink my beloved old fountain beneath the waves. But Lion’s Arch will rise again, larger and stronger!

Rise, people of Tyria! Gather your banner-men, muster your armies! It is time to put an annoying vegetable through the blender!

If devs decided to destroy it, I hope it will stay this way forever … I’m tired of living world events that don’t change in any way the world. They could create another open zone with new bosses and events in the Old LA, and create a “new LA” somewhere else. There’s a lot of space on the maps that we haven’t seen yet… it’s time to expand it.

And even though we knew that scarlet was going to attack lions arch there was nothing we could do about it, updatet 2 felt kinda pointless in this case, imo.

Yes! Lets attack Lion’s Arch and take it back! We need more people like you, eager to take up arms. Once again, I didn’t hear a word of anything else you said, but I’m glad to hear such enthusiasm to take back our beloved city!

Admire the sentiment, but “retaking” LA isn’t scripted. Nothing any of us do matters.

You can either accept the role written for you, or step away. This “event” will roll out to the same conclusion regardless.

The people that do participate will get a nice shiny award/Title for failing and being defeated. Shrug.. I have better things to do.

No way! Change of the world isn’t about destroying core and historical places of the game. Those world changes meant to improve, not to make everything a wasteland.
By the way, there is a huge map with huge undiscovered area, those needs to be made.
The only way we can feel the Living World is if we can conquer and build it!
So very most of us are waiting for the new and improved Lion’s Arch!

You know… this could open up real estate in L.A. for guild halls and/or housing…

I am good with them destroying it as long as it gets rebuilt eventually. I am also good with Delvoire’s Quaggan hopes. +1 to you.

Of course I would prefer if they started expanding the map right away instead of destroying Lion’s Arch, but since they have already decided… I think it would be much more realistic if LA stayed destroyed (at least for several months), it’s not possible to rebuild the whole city in a month. This could also force the races of Tyria to explore in search of safer place… something similar to what happened to Ascalon after the Searing.

Got a perfect strategy for the retake. We basically take a few days off and let LA itself work against the enemy. Scarlet / Elder Dragons / Whatever captures LA, they find out about Zomorros and decide to arm the Aetherblade army with precursors and legendaries. Many rares are lost. Our Personal Nemesis curses the Mystic Toilet and Anet and ragequits, alt+F4. We just move back in et voila! LA retaken.

Maybe after a few days in Lion’s Arch, Scarlet’s forces will have lost a fortune at the Mystic Forge, and gotten really frustrated with the Troll’s End jumping puzzle. That is when we strike, while they are annoyed, broke and exhausted.

Yes indeed! Death to that cesspool of Krait, Aetherblades and Molten Alliance! We shall root them out, and kick them out into Bloodtide Coast, where they’ll be forced to try the Wurm event over and over and OVER again! They’ll regret ever setting foot in our beloved city!

LA will be retaken. Not immediately, but in time.
I don’t believe that the Council will just give up, however lame they are.
LA is on a good position, it’s a port, it have gandarran fields on the north which are rich with farms so can provide it with food, it’s in the middle of practically every caravan route…
There is no other place on Tyria where the Council would like to go. So yes, LA will eventually be retaken and rebuild. And yes, this is also living world.

Nearly one and a half year of experience in this Forum taught me that the sight of only a half of a Mount can cause an uproar.

But THIS should help to combine our forces against Scarlett. :P:

Retake or rebuild the main hub city somewhere else? Would be a nice touch I think that slowly but surely in the new Living stories either a new city arises and we helped building it? Even more awesome if our guild halls would be part of this new city. And you have to work to have your guild in that nice shiny guildhall in the mainstreet/mainhall.

I’m sure I’ve got a few hours I can spare for AG’s Mad Queen. I’ll round up the rest of the Badgers and meet you there Miss Malafide.

Eh. Even though I played GW1 LA never interested me much to be honest. I do most of my stuff in other cities , and only go there if I need to exchange some dungeon tokens. I mean sure, the place looks unique and cool but I’d much prefer if Anet could focus on other cities and place special activities there instead.

I want to see LA fall and remain a ruin even after the invasion. A new hostile map that fills with leftover dredge and the like as well as some new hostile beasts. Make it explorable and basically a new map. Then rebuild a new hub elsewhere (Domain of Winds please).

Lion’s Arch can burn in dhuumfire for all I care; that pathetic excuse of a city had it coming. Either way, I’ll be there when the offensive begins; those Mystic Forge “debris” won’t collect themselves now won’t they? The almost endless supply of free body parts is good too.

I will fight to the death for the people of Lions Arch, the Lion statue and the Crows Nest Tavern. To Arms!

Many armies are rallying to the cause. Today I managed to get Kraag Deadsoul on board, and he’ll bring in more armies. The WYLD hunt may also lend their aid, and Daniel Frozenwind provides his army of ice elementals. And of course I’ll have to ask if my husband can appreciate the humor of dropping in to defend his favorite city.

Lions Arch has been destroyed and rebuilt once before, yet the video claims it “survived”, so for it to say “nothing last forever,” gives a very finite feel, as if this time, it wont be coming back. No, LA is the most important city in the game; a cultural center, the center of the story-line, and the place where all players gather to trade, socialize, and organize parties for instances, fractal, and dungeons – so there is no doubt the game will not survive without LA, or a replacement. But I do not think we will retake LA, as they have been informing us for a while now, at the end of this living story season, the world will be changed forever. You could say that rebuilding LA and giving it a new look, would be changing LA drastically, but it still doesn’t match the dire connotation of their quote “nothing last forever.”
