Darn, alright. Didn’t know for sure; I haven’t actively played for months. I’ve been bored of the same-old same-old so just hoping for something a bit new and expansion-like :/

If you’ve been gone for a while you wouldn’t. Taimi was introduced last month. Where did that pic come from? I haven’t seen it before.

I thought it was Tengu at first, too. That skin tone… looks nothing like an Asura’s. But it would make the most sense to be Taimi’s? And now that I look at the armor she wears, it matches the coloring and style exactly. The fingers just look way slender in this picture.

• Scarlet’s drilling is likely to provoke Primordius, the Tengu’s primary enemy, who reigns underground.
• Zodiac props as in the resently released Zodiac armor are Cantha-related, as are the Tengu … who would probably look better in them than the other races.
• With central location of Lion’s Arch gone and the reduction of services freely available in the 3 camps (crafting stations), there’s nothing in the way of promoting the home of the Tengu, the Dominion of the Winds.

I think some people are too eager and too rash. People want to be that guy who finds something for people to speculate about and similar, but forgets to investigate the things further, like with this picture.

Completely forgets about the bow, and the other hands.

I wonder how long Anet can wait to release a new race w/o adding race change to the gem store?

Already past the one year mark, players are running out of professions to play, accounts maxed out on characters, and the average player is not going to run through the hassle of making multiple characters of the same profession.

Eager and too rash? I think it’s the right time more than anything, especially as we already know the area to the left of LA was a starter zone for the Tengu, and Tengu were a possible race back at release.

Whatever it is, they are stupid. Run straight to a spot where everyone gets instakilled, what could possibly go wrong?

I have a suspicion there will be some warning or at least a lead-up if new playable races are to be introduced. Could happen this year, but also could not. I’d rather just wait and see than get my hopes up on every little thing.

Ok i don’t know where to post this but can someone tell me what the hell is that thing in the left part of the map… to me it looks like some kind of asian instrument hinting to Tengu as they are the similar culture (btw im sorry if i offend someone about the instument thing)

Tiger do you mean the thing to the right of the bow? Pretty sure those are pens and an overturned pen holder.

So no sylvari.

The Sylvari surprise might be Canach. He was imprisoned inside the tower where the aether chick was. When she escaped her prison (just before the attack), Canach magically appeared there with no real explanation for his move. Now if u go there the gate is wide open.

I have a feeling, considering his role played so far, he might actually jump in and help..which would mean he is the sylvari missing from the table.

It seems like it might fit. Then again, they sprung Taimi on us from out of nowhere, so who knows?

I don’t think each of the five races necessarily needs to be equally represented in every five-member team the storyline presents to us. So if Destiny’s Edge 2.0 has two humans and is short a sylvari, I don’t mind too much.

Could tie in with how sylvari are actually “blighted humans” and servants of Mordremoth. Wouldn’t want one of them in the group when Mordy resumes taking control.

Maybe Taimi is actually a baby Tengu :V

I mean, have you ever seen a baby Tengu?

On a serious note, why do people want the Tengu so badly?

1. The speed at which Anet delivers new armor skins is already at a snail’s pace, adding a whole new character model they have to fit around would make that even worse.

2. What would that add to the game? You can play as a new character model…. great. It’s not exactly like Tengus will play differently to any other character or there;s more things you can do. They may as well spend that time designing a whole new armor concept (different character model without me having to start a new character) or actual new content (more things to do).

Same reason as you’d want more than just one race in general, I would think.

What are you talking about? They put new armours out every 3 months or so.

It sounds like you haven’t played in a year. How can you complain that it’s the “same old same old” without trying it? A lot has changed in the past year.
