Ungrateful Lionguard
Hey they did post your name on the heroes billboard, though!
i was wondering the same
I think it’s one bad thing about the update. The lionguard at the Gendarran Fields and the one in the square treat you as a random passerby (Fitting for those who missed the event), but I feel like they should’ve had either A: Dialogue to point out you were in the battle (player to lionguard), or B: Lionguard starts their practiced lines, then notice who you are and correct themselves.
and the ones near the bank tackle me just for passing through. I did their job and this is how they repay me?
My thoughts on this was that it seems really unrealistic that Scarlet’s minions didn’t loot the city first. Even if they couldn’t steal all the valuables from homes and businesses, leaving all that coin in the bank didn’t make sense.

I thought it was a mistake having all those coins there in the first place.
It would be the first thing authorities would evacuate, but even if they couldn’t, the Aetherblade pirates wouldn’t leave it there even if they weren’t after the money in the first place.
I guess one way to look at it is the event didn’t happen along 4 weeks, that’s just a game mechanic, it happened much faster say a day or two and no one really got the chance to get the money out of there.
Now they kick you to prevent looting.
Well the city they protect is trashed, they lost friends, comrades and the lionguard sustained losses. Some of them had to fight in pretty dire situations as quoted from the arch or nothing short story
‘the 14th builds ad-hoc barriers out of Aetherblade bodies to give their few remaining sharpshooters cover.’ I wouldn’t be in the best mood either if i were to be in their position.
I remember the police in London weren’t that friendly directly following the riots here a few years ago, so they’re probably on edge and not sure what horrible thing is going to happen that they have to deal with next.
Is it just me or does the Lionguard seem…ungrateful? The one I meet at the grand piazza basically tells me to get lost, and the ones near the bank tackle me just for passing through. I did their job and this is how they repay me?
Bunch of ungrateful losers…
They’re playing with the name tags off… they do know a large group of heroes defeated the knights and went into the breachmaker to attack scarlet, and ultimately (insert your character’s name here) managed to follow her into the control room with the aid of Braham, Rox, Marjorie and Kasmeer, and it was (insert your character’s name here) that managed to strike the killing blow… but they don’t have CNN or twitter broadcasting your face everywhere, do they have no idea you are (insert your character’s name here)…
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.
Silly bookahs can’t stop this Asuran Engi from claiming the vaults contents! =P

I highly doubt it took 4 weeks, considering how most of the fires just now stopped. I doubt it took two weeks for the wind to blow the Miasma from the city…

Do Krait or Flame Legion have any use for Krytan coins? I guess the Aetherblades could use them. The Nightmare Court would probably not be able to pass as normal slyvari long enough to enter a city, they’d flip out and murder a kid or something.
I was surprised they didn’t take them to melt them down for other uses if they didn’t want or need currency.
I think the battle really only lasted a few days at most. Likely that they made off with some but the bulk was secured.
that would be my fault, they kind of caught me taking a down payment for my services from the bank vault that “accidently” got opened by a stray fireball.
The guards and the council are pirates and they let their city burn…
They have always been quite stupid…
Well, to be honest, when I saw that pile of plunder . . . I did try to get a closer look. . . .
They might not even recognise you. Its not as if your face appeared on tv or anything.
The 2 Lionguards inside the bank house at the trading forum actually kick you away if you walk to close… how’s that for a welcome for the Saviour of Lion’s Arch…

The Lionguard was also in the battle for Lion’s Arch.

And they’d still be fighting if it weren’t for the help we gave. I don’t expect them to kneel whenever they see me or anything, but a ‘get lost if you don’t have a work order’ could have been a little more friendly.
Nore that all of this is an in-lore discussion, not something I blame Anet for. I like how the Lion Guard are just dressed up mercenaries with the manners of an unbaked potato.
Hmmm… Maybe this is a beginning of the new Lionguard? Turning from a goody-goody organization into an oppressive military organization, and Lion’s Arch will be turned into their fortress that we raid at the end of Season XX
