(EDIT: I originally thought there were 2 platforms, not 3, so the OP is slightly imprecise, more info in my next post)
After killing the three Assault Knights we enter the Breachmaker to continue the fight. Why do we get split up into two groups then to do the same fight in 2 different locations instead of everyone fighting together?
I’ve noticed that while the group at the northern spot does not have problems succeeding in the event (finishing it easily with 5-10+ minutes spare), the southern one – from my experience – ends up struggling and always failing (though I guess there might have been instances where it succeeded). Seems like they are the ‘leftovers’ that didn’t enter fast enough to make it into the northern fight, and they end up not having enough people to win.
Now I feel I need to race to the portal if I want to stand any chance at winning the boss fight, and I feel sorry for all the people who are thrown into that southern fight and pretty much doomed to fail.

I thought there were three? I’ve only ever been in the Rox one. I’ve had a lot of guildies in the Kiel+Heal-o-tron one, but I’ve never had the luck.
I assume it’s to keep the effects down to make it easier to find the attunement pools. They’re still pretty hard to see as-is.

Funnily enough, in my overflows the southern one always succeeds and the northern one fails. As I understand it, though, there are three, and people get added to them in a poker card dealout fashion (one gets added to all three before a second is added to any, etc).
The goal, presumably, is to keep 150 people from piling on top of one hologram.

Unfortunately, I’ve yet to be in an instance where the hologram was defeated, so I’d say we need all 150 people on one platform.

I would say it has nothing to do with splitting people up and everything to do with which portal you enter.

Can verify this is false.
Source: my party all went into the same portal and had 2 groups of 2. Twice.

Last night large group of us entered in the southern portal. One group was able to defeat the hologram. My group got stuck at 50 percent on the Main Hologram and was not able to defeat it. I too have yet to be in an instance where the hologram was defeated.

Thanks for your input, everyone. There are 3 platforms indeed, my bad there. Although there aren’t ever enough people to even fill 2 from what I’ve noticed.
I’ve done some more research and I’m pretty sure I see how it works now.
It does depend on which portal you enter from and it is not even distribution between the 3 platforms.
- if you enter from the green knight site, the primary platform that people get sent to is the northern one, while the secondary is the southern one,
- if you enter from the red knight site, the primary platform is the southern one, the secondary is the eastern one,
- (this one’s a guess based on the other two I’ve confirmed it now) if you enter from blue, eastern is primary, northern secondary.
On the server I’ve just been on the zerg killed the red knight last, and I’ve entered from the green knight’s portal instead. There were two people, including me, at the hologram boss at the northern platform that I ended up on. After a couple of minutes I went to enter from the blue knight’s site instead, and ended up on the eastern platform. It had the usual secondary platform killing rate, which means, far too slow.
The southern platform finished the boss fight 10 minutes before the time ran out (I know cause I was in a party with a person who went in there from the red knight’s portal). The eastern platform failed, obviously. We’ve only managed to reach the second phase (holo splits into 3) at 6 minutes left. No chance to finish the event with our damage output.
Rising Dusk, I suppose that your overflows killed the red knight last, not the green one? That would explain why southern one was successful there.
I have been on platforms where the hologram fight was won, so I can see that the difference between how the fights go on the platforms that win and those that don’t seems too big and too consistent to be a result of how well the players play the game.

Your map just stinks and either doesn’t know the fight or harbors the zerg mentality and smashing ‘1’ repeatedly.
You can easily complete the entire encounter by the 40 minute mark.

Seems like this isn’t an issue any more after the latest update. People have finished the holo fight on all 3 platforms on my server just now, the slowest group slightly less than 5 minutes before the time ran out.
Good job encouraging people to split instead of zerging around the map. =)

Bring a toon with high dps range damage. e.g. a staff elementalist.

People are still zerging up when one of the knights dies faster than others, they just run over to another instead of waiting and entering from their portal, despite my warnings that this will ruin the next stage.
I did 2 fights today and 2 times there were 2 full platforms and the third one with about 15 people or fewer, doomed to fail again. I waypointed and entered from all 3 portals to make sure that the other 2 were full, I got thrown into the same almost-empty platform every time.
It would be great if the designers could find a way to fix this issue, maybe implement some debuff that you get if one knight dies while you have its attuenment, to make you useless against others.

This is what I noticed about how portal works. As littleEP said earlier Red= South, Blue= Mid, Green= North platforms. However, there is some sort of cap limit to each platform and after it caps, you get sent to another empty one. Thus if a lot of people leave from say blue, blue platform will only have those that remain and any extra people from the other 2 after those caps. Thus best to split into 2 or 3 groups depending on the cap and # people going inside.

This happens to me as well, when I’m in a party and we all enter the same portal, we get spread out, and sent to different hologram platforms.

In my server we completely encourage to NOT help the other knights when we win in 1 side, we just sit down and wait. Result: the last 10 times the 3 rooms made it and killed all the holos.
It also helped good sync and no phase with 18 enemies due to a perfect synchornized phase 2.
