Q:
..Just around while Flame & Frost is?
The new dyes look really cool but as dyes are character bound, I don’t want to be spending a fortune to ensure I outfit future alts in them, should they be limited time. I don’t mind spending a bit now and again to buying a dye pack and trying for one, but if they are limited time I’d be happier not buying any, so I don’t have dyes my alts can’t get.
Edit: Apparently I’m being unclear. The question is will Flame & Frost Dye Kits be removed from the gem store after Flame & Frost expires? It is being asked because they do not state “limited time only” in their description unlike the molten alliance pickaxe.

Based on how all of the past “limited time” things have been run by ArenaNet, it’s only the Supply that is being limited. Once they cut things off, you will no longer be able to obtain these items. It might be only temporary (in the case of yearly holdiday events) or it might even be permanently removed.
1) If you buy a dye from the Gem Store or the BLTC, you shouldn’t have to worry about your existing unused dyes disappearing.
2) In fact, I expect a bunch of people to buy up all of the new dyes that are for sale. Then when it’s around 3-6 months from now, they’ll try to sell them for an inflated value because they’re now so much more scarce.

That’s what I’m asking are these a “limited time” item? I ask because unlike the Molten Pick right beside them, their description does not include “available for a limited time only”.
Limited time means limited time in ArenaNet speak. They are being sold for a limited time. To date, I have NEVER heard of ArenaNet removing any piece of game content that was purchased in GW2 because its “limited time limit” expired. You bought a Consortium box? It’s still there till you use it. Did you get a weapon skin from the holiday themed Black Lion chests? Then that’s also still there. People will sit on these kinds of things for half of a year before they sell them. All of this is completely normal in MMOs.
If you can get a red post response, then more power to you. Otherwise you’ll keep this loop going forever.
You were not unclear Blade people just assumed you are an idiot and asking a dumb question. Instead of thinking you had a brain and answering your question. Which is one I’d like answered as well.
This question has still not been answered, and it’s a very, very good question.
In the past, for all “limited in time” items it was clearly indicated that this was the case. Fused weapon skins, molten pickaxe, SAB goodies, all clearly indicated. However, nothing indicates that these dyes are sold for a “limited time” only. It only says these dyes “commemorate the final chapter of the flame and frost saga”. To my knowledge, you can commemorate stuff indefinitely. It just means you think about it, and go “hey, yea, that was fun”.
Therefore, based on the description with which they are sold (similar to the description of an item you buy in a regular store) we should be able to rely on the fact that these dyes will be sold in the gemstore indefinitely.
I just want to get this a bump because it’s a question I’m also wondering~
This is also a question I’m wondering. It costs about 170g to buy all the dyes currently. If the packs are going to remain i’ll buy them slowly but if they are going to be removed for all of eternity then I will fork over the money now before the prices rise again.
Store description has changed to: “Available for 7 days only”.
…
Get your dyes now. I just tried to get the one I wanted and wasted 1500 gems.
Not a fan of the limited dye thing since it was based around RNG garbage. Not to mention how the market for any item worth a penny is controlled by the top 1% jerks as usual who hoard huge stacks of money for the sake of just having it. They never spend it just squat on it till they leave the game. Same ol BS screwing over the normal players as they even control the gem rates with all this.
I knew quite a few peeps that quit WoW with max gold and never even came close to ever spending a piece of it and that is just sad.
So much for ever collection every dye on a single character let alone multiple with so much limited time RNG bs.

#100%
why the … isnt anet replying if the dye is limited or not..
i bet they would make a lot more money if it would be permanent – a lot of people want to have a wide range of colours for all of their chars
what is happening now? people with big pockets are stocking em –
and this happens at the expense of normal players in the long run
Dyes are officially going away in 5 days. If you want them buy them now or prepare for the price to have a 0 added on the end by next week. I bought 2 of every color, one for myself and one to sell to people for 10x the price later.
Though these PACKS are for a limited time only, I’d be curious to know if these dyes may end up being incorporated into the unidentified dye list you can get atm.
