JQ just completed Gold Boss Blitz event a couple of times. 1st try was silver and then 2 consecutive gold! Its so much fun, just requires a little bit of coordination, like 7-9 people (even less) on each boss. Oh that excitement when the clock comes to 1:00 min XD
Such a break from mindless zerging and button smashing, the loot was okeyish (my rng sucks) but is was so much fun!!
I approve of this event! Do this event with organisation, it much more fun!

Rewards pretty much consist in 6-8 champion bags, 15 gauntlet tickets, 45 festival tokens.

but then for 10 min for organisation and completing the event which gives 6 champ bags + new event tokens (if you care to collect) + achievement points + some chance to get very rare stuff is better than mindless champ farming imo.

It’s harder, more coordination, more time consuming and less rewarding.

I hated how profitable the mindless farm was, but having difficult content yield such pathetic rewards is a joke. If getting gold is as tricky as people say, why not a guarenteed exotic & 2 rares in addition to the actual reward, then maybe people will actually care to try.

by JQ i meant its was JQ commanders (who i am used to seeing around before megaserver) + JQ teamspeak server…basically giving credits to those commanders.

If the boss fights were fun instead of annoying (HI INVULNERABLE CENTAURS) the difficulty wouldn’t even be an issue.

hahaha ik! those stampeding centaurs chain knocking away like 1000 range . I was at that boss both times we got gold and centaur is fairly easy to kill as compared to others. We had to slow our dps there for like a good 1 or more minute.
In particular i hate Pyro but its manageable with mesmers and then that Flame Legion guy is annoying with those teleports.

Not all of us have an on-demand access to enough people willing to coordinate.

open world raiding is pointless

The reward is: 50-55 tokens, 8 champion bags, about 20 gauntlet tickets. This is every 5 minutes as well if you are in a group capable of attaining Gold.

.. and, of course, if the megaserver-map is kind of empty so that no other players joining the fights and upscale the event.

This event is pointless. the rewards for the pavillion are garbage, and the only way to get the skins is with festival tokens which so far I’ve only been able to reliably find by playing the TWO events in Labyrinthine cliffs over and over and OVER all day!

Organised blitz really is the best way to get tokens. A competent map with good commanders can get over 500 tokens an hour. It’s fun and exciting too that way because it’s often very close to the time limit.

But rewarding? Well…

LOL so much hurt.

I did this about 6 times on a coordinated map (didn’t check what servers people were from but I was on Desolation) last night and really enjoyed it. The first time we got bronze because apparently a lot of new people got into the (previously full) map at the same time I did and didn’t listen when they were told not to move on to another boss after killing theirs.

But after that we got it working again (6 commanders, plus various people typing instructions and explanations in /say and /map) and got silver once and gold all the other times.

Gold gives 8 champ bags I think, bronze gives 2 and silver is somewhere in the middle. What comes out of the bags is the same as champ bags anywhere else in the world.

I got a bunch of greens, some golds, various crafting materials including cores and lodestones and one exotic, which happened to be Arc, a longbow I’d been thinking about getting for my ranger.

I skipped around a lot of different maps both before joining that one and after losing my connection and I really think the main issue here is coordination. You don’t actually need much, just 6 groups who know not to rush off to another boss when they finish theirs and preferably people calling out how far along each boss is and stopping or slowing down so they all go down about the same time. The maps I saw struggling it was always because people were still trying to kill the bosses one at a time in a giant zerg and not realising it just doesn’t work here.

Opening all the containers gave me about 1 or 2 rares, a few rare crafting mats, T4+ mats and the rest was greens and skill scrolls.

So yes, it’s pretty kittenty loot for the organization and effort.

Doesn’t gold have a chance to drop Gifts, the things used to buy the special weapon skins? Or was I hearing wrong the other day?

So yes, it’s pretty kittenty loot for the organization and effort.

seeing as how champ farming at its peak was giving about 6 bags in 12 minutes, its probably ok loot.

Of course you didnt have to think at all, or have any chance of failure for champ train, but in truth that was probably a poor design
