I was very excited when I heard that the Sovereign Weapon skins were retruning! I only started playing in Feb 2014, so missed many events last year. I was looking forward to getting the Longbow and Greatsword combination for my Ranger.

But that’s not possible because you get only ONE Favor of the Festival token, which forces you to chose one reward!

I asked yesterday if there was a way to get more, and there is. But it has NOTHING to do with actual work, it is just aimed at those lucky troll players that get everything given to them on a silver platter while the rest of players, like me, have to spend days grinding teh same items. sigh

If you’re extremely lucky, you have a chance to get 1 of 2 favor’s that can be combined to a Favor of the Festival token. Well, I’ve been doing the events in both the Pavillion and Cliffs since release and not had one single token drop!! Considering you need 2, this is a 1 in 1000000000000000000000000000000 chance of getting another token!

Why are you not rewarding players that actually play? Why is everything bulldust luck?

This is exactly why i always am against all those ideas from people that want hardmodes and that some items are only available at some special places, and not everything can be bought via gold.

THIS is exactly what happens if the devs listen to them, and thats how it works out.

Thanks god that i bought the Longbow, Shortsword and Torch already last year.

You’re not forced to choose only one reward. You don’t deserve it since you don’t have the token.

It’s kind of ridiculous considering you still need to pay up to 10G for them too.
A favor or 10G, that would be logical.

You can buy the seperate favors of the trading post.

The actual Favor of the Festival is account bound.

I’m confused. The price is low enough to indicate the drop chance is reasonable. what is considered “low price”? because I’m not sure if you realised or not but you need BOTH of the PAVILION and BAZAAR tickets to make the FESTIVAL ticket. At the moment placing buy orders is around 15g+8g. That’s 23g for the ticket to buy a skin (not counting additional gold for the different skin).

Once again newer players get the short stick.

And we’re only considering one weapon skin. Multiple that by a few other skins you want and that can easily be 100g+

lol? Gems into gold is your solution and what your also missing is that veteran players aren’t exactly rich either unless they’ve been grinding gold, tp flipping, or got lucky with a precursor.

If anything veteran players have been regularly punished. Glory Boosters removed, FotM reset, just a few examples of things being taken away.

The patch came out a few days ago, so there simply isn’t enough supply to go around to suppress the price. It can be even cheaper.

Not to mention you have weeks to complete this. No one is forcing you to buy now.

If you can’t make 30g in a couple of weeks, then you are a minority and better off just playing the game and hoping you get it.

perhaps we were expecting them to treat the game less as an endless money-devouring siphon and more like a game with a playerbase?

I mean, games like league of legends dont tend to treat their players like dirt for not wanting to buy craptons of stuff from their real money system

Broken and completely braindead endless farming which ruined the economy for months? Sounds sensible!

But really, what is the big deal. These items are pretty obviously not meant for newcomers, they’re moneydraining tools for the top end players to strengthen the economy.
And 23g for the items + 10g for the skin itself is fairly low. Consider that without ever grinding dungeons, without ever running the champ train and without flipping the AH, I had 480g from which to buy the stuff I was missing for a legendary when I noticed I was rather close. This got me to sub-100, I’m now back to 150g. Again, no dungeongrinding, no champ train, no flipping, no nothing like that.

You make money fast in GW2. Really fast. The game needs moneydrains. Actually more than we have, IMO.

new players can easily get 1 skin, you’re really just being greedy.
