I’m a casual player and this event is very frustrating for me. Yes it was fun for a while to run around as a dolyak or jump around looking for crystals. But I quickly realized that I will never receive credit for completing the event so I’m giving up on it. I will never get 14 achievement points for this event because some of the achievements just aren’t possible for me. I am terrible at PvP so the arena I step in and get killed. I can’t even “finish” the Sanctum Sprint because you are only allowed so much time after the first person finishes and I am not quick. Etc.

This didn’t bother me in the past because they put some event achievements into Dailies so I could still eventually do it. Not anymore.

For those rude people who are going to respond “l2p”, I am playing this game for fun not to be another job. I don’t want to “work” at any MMO I play. I realize that some people do and that’s great for them and they should get lots of leet loot for doing so. I don’t care if I don’t get cool backpieces or whatever because they require lots of work. But if Festivals (which are supposed to be light-hearted fun IMO) are going to be so difficult that I can’t get credit for them I might as well go play a different MMO.

What about the achievements in crown pavilion?
Most of those don´t require much skill.

Agreed, if you’re willing to spend some time, you can get a ton of achievements from the pavilion easily.

you dont have to be good at the game to get these achievements =S like at all….in aspect arena all you need to do is damage someone if someone else then kills them you get the credit etc

I think the game is quite fun and I like the challenge hopefully you can find something more your speed. You can’t please everyone.

You mean the achievements that I have to pay to even attempt (huh)? Since I am a casual player I don’t have a lot of gold. And I detest the idea that a developer would create an event that is supposed to be fun and then make me pay for it so I refuse to pay for any part of it.

1 Watch the story
5 kill all the bosses in boss blitz
1 Flying Dolyaks
1 Sanctum Sprinter
1 kills in aspect arena
1 wins in aspect arena
1 Buy some boxes
1 defeat bosses in the gauntlet
1 defeat bosses with 1 gambit (pick fire and range the quaggan)
1 kill some bandits (you will get this when doing the boss)
1 kill some pirates (you will get this doing the boss)

That’s 15, one more than you need, and it doesn’t require you to suffer the boss blitz 10 times or require you to get all of the crystals (annoying even with a guide). There are three more achievements to max or killing mobs, and you can do those if you don’t want to touch the gauntlet.

I have no problem playing “the game”. I have 5 characters of different types which I enjoy playing. My complaint is that a Festival should be something that everyone can participate and get credit for. I am not asking them to remove difficulty – I definitely think that every game should have things that are more difficult for the people who like that sort of thing. I’m saying that in the past I could do daily achievements to make up for the festival events that I couldn’t complete and I would still get the achievement credit for the event. That, to me, is how a festival should be. Leave the gating to regular content.

For the Boss Blitz I let the other players pay. The Kill 50 x achievements can be done without paying anything. Tickets for the queens gauntlet drop from enemies there, boss blitz events or buying supply boxes for mats you don´t need.

You don’t need to be hardcore to complete the 14/14 achievements to get the 1600 tokens and a ticket thing. I didnt do any of the sanctum or aspect things.
-Just do a complete round of boss blitz once(6 easy achievements)
-Kill 50 of each vet mobs(another 6 achievements, drag the mobs in when people doing bosses or just tag along with someone who is doing the vets)
-Open 10 zephyr boxes(trade in your mats for boxes at zephyr place)

So far you have 13/14
-Complete welcoming instance, all you have to do is just watch npc’s talk and boom, you have 14/14 for the Bounty of the festival

Well, thanks for the advice. I’ll give it a try and see what happens.

If it stresses you out that much you’re not going to have fun and probably shouldn’t do it. Remember, not only do you not have to, but at the end of the day what do you have to show for it? Virtual (insert anything here) of no value.

This is part of my whole point: a Festival should be fun, not stressful. I shouldn’t have to choose not to participate in a Festival because it is not fun. IMO that = fail on the developers’ part. I’m glad that lots of people ARE having fun and I’m not saying to nerf anything. I’m saying that I did have fun with the Halloween and Winter Festivals because I knew if I couldn’t complete a Festival Event I could still get credit for the Festival because of the Dailies.

If you fall far behind in Sanctum Sprint. Pick up the blue basket things. These will often give an elite skill that allows you to teleport to the next checkpoint. This is great for people who aren’t very fast and can that way catch up.

Picking up the blue baskets will also often give you a special protection skill on your heal slot so every time you get a lightning cloud above your head use that. It gives stability and prevents you from being dazed/unable to move and being knocked over by fake crystals if you spot one coming up in front of you.

The red baskets give attack skills. Blue baskets defensive/supportive skills.

Sanctum sprint is not so hard, forget the timer and grab all the crystals etc.. You get an ach for it.
