Myself and many others have been dedicated enough to do fractal after fractal, only to never see the specific skin we want drop. We have been hoping all year long that when fractals returned we’d be able to buy our weapon skin of choice with pristine fractal relics.

Is this going to be an option with the new fractals? Please give us some hope that the RNG nightmare will be over. The odds of getting your wanted weapon were rough set at crazy low odds PER DAY. (32.5% drop rate at level 40 fractals x 1/19 possible fractal weapons.)

32.5% is not low, imho. There are stuff like Ascended weapon boxes that have much much lower odds of dropping.

u forgot to factor in the 1/19 chance of getting the weapon u want. Which makes it really really low… oh and ascended weapons can be crafted, there is no other way to get fractal weapons.

The fact that you can now get skins to drop at level 10 and that you get pristine relics at 10 provides a very strong argument for allowing us to buy the skins with PRs.

I, too, support the concept of less RNG, more “working toward a reward.” While I despise grindy gameplay, I appreciate the concept of working toward a specific choice of prizes. Legendaries (with the exception of getting a precursor) are like this: a specific series of recipes for a specific weapon reward.

Lol! I main warrior through fractals and i’ve only ever gotten fractal shortbow skins.

To fix that they could simply have a “Fractal weapon box” drop from which you can choose which skin to get instead of a random chance at every weapon type.

It took hard work, grinding, and a lot of persistence for me to get the skins i really wanted. It was worth it. Skins will lose their appeal if they become as easy as everything else.

I WISH you could get them from mere hard work, grinding and persistence. As it is, it’s just dumb luck on a (relatively) easy level 20 run. If anything, they should add a method where hard work, grinding and persistence actually guarantees you a skin.

Its nice that u were luky, But some of us are kitten ed to be getting bad luk all the time. I have 9 skins. 2 of them being staffs and 2 of them being warhorns. 6 i will never use. I’m almost at the 500 fractal frequenter ugh. I just want greatsword.

It’s nice they’ll be available at level 10 but did you see that the chance of such goes up with level? I’d imagine level 10 will leave it only theoretically possible to get a skin, given how rare drops have been in other venues even when ArenaNet -doesn’t- call it “low” or “rare.”

I have been running 48 dailies for months on with 90+ pristine relics to show for it. I have been looking for the mace, dagger, longbow, sword and scepter. Care to guess which ones I havent been lucky enough to find? If I see another staff, greatsword or shield I may break something. This rng stuff has gotta go, I agree with the op.

Ha! Lucky, ha! “I’m almost at the 500 fractal frequenter” HA! You’re still new to fractals buddy. I have at least 40 skins, it took me at least 6 months grinding to get the skin(s) I wanted. When I say grinded I mean I ran up to 6 fractals a day for chance at getting skin. I have 1 character at 48, 3 characters at 38, and 1 character at 28. I cannot speak for everyone but luck didnt help me at all, it was persistence and patience.

40% drop rate of fotm skins at level 48 so if you don’t have them I contest you aren’t really trying. Some one 2/5 in party always get skins. Im at 1k fotms

6 times a day is a ridiculous rng grind. U also stated u only have one character at 48. Running a bunch of fractals below 40 wasn’t helping u as much as running a 48. If i ran fractals 28 and 38 i would probably be well over 500 as it takes less time. And Srry u werent luky enough to get the skins u wanted sooner. rng still fails…

I tried for awhile but slowly started running them less and less. Getting no weapons doing 5-10 fractal 48’s in a row tends to have that affect. :/

So over 100 48’s isnt really trying? go crawl back in your hole, some of us have terrible luck

I think that, at the very least, we should be able to forge 3 fractal skins and 5 Pristine Relics to get a chance at another fractal skin.

I also think they should make some “super skins” – like a black or white version or something that only drops at 40+

Yeah that would be helpful. At least something to give us the chance to reduce the luck factor.

Something should be done with Pristine relics. If you are a fractal regular, these become useless (you probably have the rings you want from drops). They are even forgotten in the Wallet!
