Nerf Deadeye - It's Boring now :(

lol
I sadly agree , i want that nerf so bad im sooo tired of killing him for hours on end ..whenever i log on i just go gauntlet and buy 250-750 tickets and kill the guy nonestop..but i sooo badly want to go pvp , wvw and even farm bosses with the occasional mingle in LA. Pls help me Anet…help us!
I am not joking at all… I heartily agree with you OP. I feel forced to do this obscene gold farm above anything else in the game.
It will probably be nerfed in the next couple of days anyway, which kinda forces me to do even more of it now.
The thing is… anything that doesnt have an invulnerability type mechanic can get zerkered down. Worst case scenario… you will drop the quaggon…..
ANET PLEASE….. it looks really fun downstairs in that pavilion…

Nice attitude.
So, you’re asking for everyone to be punished because you choose to be bored? cool.

This. Im done , now nerf it thank you XOXOXO
there are really all sorts of mental disorders crowded in such games o_0
I see people easily farm this boss all day, but meanwhile I had the hardest time beating him on my necromancer (because we don’t have invincibility skills)…. ughhh…..
Yes, there clearly is a balance issue here. For some classes this boss is just way too easy to farm, while for others he is way too difficult in comparison.

Pls, arena no! I’m gonna farm if for a few days more, so i don’t nerf it. I forbid.
But i’m getting really sick of him. Really. kittening. Sick.
I agree with people above. This “I’ve finished farming him and now I am done please nerf.”
What class, spec, etc are you using to farm him so well? Share it with people so other can do it and I am sure it will get nerfed. Especially if it’s as easy a farm as you say.
I haven’t found this to be true but it’s highly possible I am not nearly as skilled as I think I am sometimes. lol
As far as gear goes, the more zerker you have the faster/more comfortable runs will be. My guardian has around 3100 power, as I have some green accessories and a white backpiece. Everything zerc and 30/30/0/0/10 as the 20% extra damage while aegis is huge. Staff + Sword/Focus. There should be a video of the proper combo, but it really isn’t too hard. You can use sigils for precision/power stack bonuses and foods to make up for your gear.
Any berserker-specced class can do this well, but here’s how I originally started doing it on Guardian.
The only thing I think should be nerfed is the fact that he doesn’t aggro if you’re on the edge of the arena. This is letting people just sit there and wait for him to TP, which is weak. Folks are also setting up Crowd Favorite and the Quaggan doesn’t aggro if you pull or if you just wait for the TP. Super weak.

Riiiight. You have fear and blinds to stop his OHKO. Death Shroud can also be used to mitigate an OHKO.
Necroes have no problem farming Deadeye either with Zerker gear dagger/dagger, Spectral Grasp and either Wells or Minions. With minions you come out even better than warriors and guardians in farming efficiency since you don’t have to wait for cooldowns.
Just because you fail to see alternative builds doesn’t mean there’s a class balance issue.

There is something wrong with you if you keep on doing the thing you do not like to do. (work not included )Seriously get some help.
For some classes this boss is just way too easy to farm
For example, necro.

Melee thief has it super easy. They just shadowstep near to him (don’t even need to navigate through the minefield) so he can’t headshot from distance, permablind all other attacks. It usually takes like 10-20 seconds each run for a decent full dps specced thief.
I’m not bashing thief class by the way, i don’t mind people farming him.
But OP clearly has some issues.

This is why we can’t have nice things
A Nerf is requiered but, seriously, don’t do it like with Subject 7.
If offensive (I still get about 25g/hour on solider armor) builds are not meant to burst down things in seconds and get an insane profit over time, just make phases / special events to trigger on HP (not time) basis.
The “problem” could be solved just making Deadeye to teleport every 25% or 33% HP. He could still be farmeable, but it would probably require longer CDs or less gambits active, cutting the current profit by a lot.
No need to destroy the profit directly by decreasing the amount silver rewarded up to a point where it doesn’t even cover the costs.
Subject 7 should be reworked.
A viable example could be having it splash on smaller oozes every 25%/33% HP loss. Half of those oozes would fire at the player while the others would slowly move towards subject 7, which would be invulnerable for a given aumont of time. Every ooze arriving to subject 7 would heal it some life percent.
This way, a player should chose between killing the aggressive ones, preventing subject 7 from healing or a mix of both.

You’re so horribly misinformed/ignorant of the Necromancer. For starters, the shot goes through our Death Shroud and kills us, even if it’s at full – @Anet, thanks for the unnecessary nerf.
I personally took this guy out in 2 tries on CondiMancer, with no gambits. The first thing I noticed on my first attempt was my Flesh Golem taking aggro and dying instantly pls tell me all about how minions are supposed to help us.
Fearing him is completely counter productive, I shouldn’t have to explain why.
Our DPS would be considerably lower if we take utilities to help us survive, rather than damage utilities. Taking Grasp is a waste because our DPS wouldn’t be fast enough anyway, we can Dark Path, once and that’s assuming we still have LF to DS. Going full zerk would kitten our already horrible survivability against Deadeye with such a build.
Just because you’re probably kitten because you died to an overpowered build in sPvP doesn’t mean we’re not totally kitten in other areas of the game due to design flaws .

I do fine with 4 gambits on a conditionmancer and it’s about as fast as thief. I use my current gear and traits. shrugs
LoL, ain’t that the truth? I can’t do anything else too knowing that it will be nerfed in a moment I want hoard as much gold as possible to not need it anymore, at the beginning I said it’s impossible to farm on him now I can do this with closed eyes
Yeah he needs a nerf. I only took a few tries to beat Liadri but in that time I was hassled for messing up a deadeye farm. Big whoop. It’s still the best way for ranger to get the 5 gambit achievement so hopefully the mechanics remain the same and the loot is nerfed.
There are several words to describe people who complain about doing something they don’t have to do, but do anyways despite not enjoying it.
I’ll let you guess. Hint: None of them are positive.

What can I say? I take this game seriously. Gotta get as much gold as possible. But if possible I’d also like to have some fun. Hence the humble request to Anet to nerf this guy’s drops or something.
You guys are really weird. If you are not enjoying killing Deadeye, there is simply solution. DONT farm him. Go make some dungeons or go farm materials downstairs (becouse running in zerk like zombie and killing mobs still and still with 5FPS is reaaaaaaly fun).
Its only your choise and nobody is telling you to kill Deadeye all the time.
Take your mind and start thinking.
Please nerf Deadeye. It’s getting horribly boring killing him over and over again the whole day. But since it’s so obscenely profitable at 20g per hour, there’s simply no other activity that I can do.
I want to go back to dungeons etc. But as long as Deadeye keeps rewarding me with vast amounts of wealth I’m forced to do only that. After all…that’s why we play right? To get rich?
P.S: This is not sarcasm. I’m serious!

Well that isn’t nice , how dare you insult the OP.
Diminishing returns in every part of the game except for one of the most easily repeatable and profitable ones. Makes sense.
Well with the amount of money coming from Gauntlets as well as Champion farming and Dungeons, it’s entirely feasible that Anet meant this update to fill our pockets a bit.

It’s called inflation guys.

Oh, how much inflation have we experienced then? What goods are you including in your basket when you calculate your consumer price index?

The price of ectos is usually a good barometer.
Oh all the old limited items are returning? time to do Deadeye 1k more times!

You’re forgetting cofp1 before this update even with diminishing returns people were doing it repeatably and it was profitable for almost a year and it took what, almost a year for Anet to decide to rework the dungeon rewards?

whisper me in-game if you need help as necro, cuz I farm him without even using flesh golem, not even if he’s ready. 5 gambit. Sadly I still gotta wait for Signet of Spite (traited for reduced cd). 100% win rate. I only got exotics no ascended.
And you actually can survive kill shot. Protection + weakness + DS but it’s pointless since he won’t kill shot when you’re hugging him.
PS: grasp is VITAL. So maybe you need more time spent at DeadEye
No matter how many people farm deadeye or how fast, gold will still be deflating due to the cof p1 nerf… However I do believe they have noticed and are working on a method of diminishing returns for the gauntlet instead of just implementing another hotfix here, causing everyone to hop on the next most efficient farmlet boss.

Actually where it not for the Subject 7 nerf, I would never have moved onto Deadeye at all. He’s soooo much easier even allowing me to take on 5 full gambits instead of just 4.

Well you got your nerf. Personaly, I loved it. I loved everything about it. I love repetition. I loved farming cof p1 over and over the same thing, while playing 5 hour mixes of Sheepy Mixes and liquid chillstep.
Today, I am a sad quaggan.

This is why we can’t have nice things
Yep, because of people like OP.
Riiiight. You have fear
Which does what exactly? I first have to either place a mark, or go into Death Shroud. Either way I’m dead before I can land a fear on him.
and blinds to stop his OHKO.
You have to get close to land a blind (or place a well), unless you rely on the Shadow Fiend. And we all know how reliable that guy is. Either way, he’ll hit you before you’re done placing that well…. if it doesn’t fail to cast of course, due to the thing canceling if you click out of reach. And you have to adjust the camera first too.
Death Shroud can also be used to mitigate an OHKO.
His insta-kills hit straight through Death Shroud, and leak into our life pool, due to the pax nerf.
Necroes have no problem farming Deadeye either with Zerker gear dagger/dagger,
Our DPS is poor.
Spectral Grasp
Which misses all the time.
and either Wells or Minions. With minions you come out even better than warriors and guardians in farming efficiency since you don’t have to wait for cooldowns.
You’ve clearly never used minions.
Just because you fail to see alternative builds doesn’t mean there’s a class balance issue.
I have tried the alternative builds. I managed to beat Deadeye, and it was a pain on a necromancer.

Zencow’s right you now… It’s clear you have to work on your necro more to find the rotation sweet spot, attune your trait alocation.Grasp/DS#3/Golem charge you got 3x completely reliable interrupts. You just need to know their flow.
Check necro forum farming thread if you’re still doubtful

That golem will charge the wrong way or charge into all the mines. And with the way “target-closest” refuses to target anything that the camera isn’t aiming at, and a camera that consistently gives you a bad view of the battlefield, that golem will charge off in a random direction.
That’s one of the worst things perhaps about this battle, getting the camera to work, and doing so before the boss one-shots you.
Spectral Grasp is rubbish at Dead Eye. Again, it makes you extremely reliable on the camera. It will miss unless the target is selected, and the target will be unselected after every teleport.
I eventually beat him using Flesh Wurm to teleport to the spot where I knew he would be, and then hitting him with Lich Form. But it still involves crossing the arena a few times. Not like any of the other classes that just stay in one place, and DPS him to death before he can teleport again. And that was my point, it’s a lot harder for a necro. It really is.
It’s a L2P isue with Necro. Use a “target closest” button. You can kill him shortly after the first teleport. I’ll work on my rotations some more and post a video later.

your experience feels horrible due to your build and rotation, whereas with my spec, it’s a work of art and joy.
I don’t move an inch when I go in, I don’t move my camera at all. it’s as if I play in first person view. I open with Signet of Spite then Grasp which will interrupt him (5 confusion stack), I then Signet of Spite then Warhorn Daze (another 5 confusion stacks), I then swap to my other Scepter Dagger, and do Deathly Swarm then Enfeebling Blood and Grasping Dead, now he’s gonna warp and killshot which I either use Golem charge or DS#3 and fight’s over on my part even if I get downed I win.
There’s no randomness, I do this over and over and over in 5gambit. The only thing that still bothers me and you didn’t mention that in your rant is that arena autokills any npc still left inside after fight ends, if golem would warp along with me when I win, I’d don’t have to wait 60s cd, but since he stays inside1s-2s more he gets killed like an ooze.

Target Closest doesn’t work.
This is the view I get at the start of every battle (see attachment below). If the enemies are off screen, target closest cannot target them. Especially if they also teleport behind you. I have to manually adjust the camera first, in order to be able to target the enemy to begin with. And when I do, he’s already lining up his first shot.
You can hit C, nothing happens, even though the boss is right in front of you. You can activate Flesh Golem, and he’ll charge diagonally the wrong way. You need to target the boss correctly first, to have the Golem reliably charge the boss at all. Spectral Grab will also miss if closest target fails.

My Flesh Golem teleports outside the arena correctly at the end of each fight. So you were saying something about there being no randomness?
(In the screenshot, you can see that the Ringmaster remains selected, even though I am hammering the “Target Closest” key)
