Didn´t Anet announce precursor crafting this year ? :´(

I posted in the other thread about the mini’s. Got them all last year except an RNG one which doesn’t seem to be included in this box.

Toxic: They said we might not see precursor crafting this year or new legendaries. Colin J post this 2 months or so ago.

I’m a little disappointed about Wintersday. It’s just recycled content from last year.
Ascended Armor and balance update are nice though.

So, nothing new for Wintersday this year. Even the mini pets are the same, just fewer. I feel let down already. I was disappointed with Halloween, but at least there was new content added.

Well ofcourse it’s recycled content, it’s a holiday event, that’s how holiday events works in most MMOs. First Wintersday alone was huge enough.

From time to time it has additional stuff, which I bet we get in terms of story. Either way, the ascended armor, healing skills and balanced classes is enough for me as additional fun stuff.

In other words: looking forward to it! Gonna play Snowball Mayhem and Bell Choir like hell again!

Go to GW1 during holidays…. same thing every year, has been since 2005… why change tradition? :p

I find this quite disappionting. It sounds like completely the same content and even the rewards are the same (just the wintersday stuff of course, not armors and new skills). I realy hoped for a bit more than that.
But it sound like it won’t be as bad as halloween where there was even less stuff you could do compared to last year…

And the bell choir. You mention the snowball game but not the bell choir?

To the people disappointed by missing new encounters/games at Wintersday and by missing promised features.

There is still the release of December 24th waiting for us where they could add some surprising stuff dealing with Wintersday or even Scarlet.

This release could also bring some of the missing topics from the roadmap 2013.

Also they warned us that precursors and legendary jewelry could be postponed.

I dont remember hearing about legendary jewelry but I think it was said that craftable precursors are being pushed to early 2014. Dont feel like tracking down the post though.

I second that. There is a time and place for Scarlet. This is not the time nor place. Wintersday was never part of living story, and should never be part of it. It’s a holliday celebration, so let’s keep it that way.

So… people were upset because Halloween events didn’t all come back and the new stuff they added in was too short and not that fun. I agree a little on the lack of Halloween stuff.

Now people are mad because the Wintersday Stuff is the same and has a lot of stuff going on?

You guys seems to be missing a lot that is coming this patch, but I can’t help wonder why they didn’t post this at the page myself ..

“In the December 10th update, you’ll be able to earn gold in PvP as a match reward. As an extension of that, you’ll also be able to spend glory and gold to purchase account-bound Tomes of Knowledge, which grant a level each and will allow you to level up any of your characters. The Tome of Knowledge will be found on a new glory vendor that has several items available for purchase with both glory and gold.

Another thing to look forward to in the December 10th update will be new daily achievements for wins in Solo and Team Arenas. These will give players the chance to earn up to four additional total achievement points per day. Along with this change we will be rebalancing the Slayer and Conqueror. Of couse there is winning for ANET, simply leave the stuff from last year in and bring a some good new stuff. I don’t expect much, but somethng like a new minigame or some fun events around the world aren’t too unreasonable in my opinion.

To jokke: tose things surely are great, but they are in no way related to wintersday, those are different teams working on that and they are released when they are ready and have nothing to do with the story or festival events that come up at the same time.

If Wintersday follows as last year… I see no problems.

Nothing new then, that was unexpectedly disappointing.

We all want old content to come back, that surely is not a problem at all for them to provide, but adding nothing new is quite strange. Every MMO I know adds stuff to their festivals, not just recycles last years content only.

The first few years of Guild Wars Wintersday had more new content than this, very disappointing Arena Net.

They’ve said this will be around for 6 weeks, that alone doesn’t mean there won’t be another patch, but the 24th is right before/near Christmas, which is a major U.S. holiday. This means that most likely they’ll be closed/closing around the 24th for at least a day or two, which is probably even longer for some since people tend to take vacation time around it. So I wouldn’t count on another major patch this month (unless its a week after this one, but I doubt that). Theres the possibility of a patch the 31st, but thats New Years Eve (major drinking night in U.S.), so I doubt that day either.

They said something along the lines that they would try. They also said depending on how things go, it would be one of the things they’d push back.

I’d wait for just about forever to get a precursor crafting enhancement if they’d write that kitten twig out of the game.

They announced fortnightly releases. Breaking/violating this announcement would be bad event in regards to PR. Maybe they will release at Dec 23rd.

We will know it for sure if we see a teaser picture for Dec. 17th on next Tuesday.

True, but its also Christmas Eve, which is one of if not the biggest holiday of the U.S. where Anet is located. I highly doubt they’re going to make their employees work that day/night. And if they do release a patch that day, it’ll be probably at least 4-5 days before anything is done to fix bugs that it’ll obviously have, which will also have a “bad event in regards to PR”. I’d love to get another patch, but I’m of the mind that that release week is one to skip, which I’m sure most people will understand why they skip it. Anet employees have families too, so theres no way I could/would or even want to expect a patch that week.

FYI. Christmas Eve isn’t a holiday even though some celebrate it as such. The real holiday is Christmas Day. There are plenty of people who have to work on Christmas Eve.
