July 2nd- Predictions and Thoughts
I’m must say I’m getting hooked by the living story.
BotFW… Battle of the Four Winds? O_o
Wow!! this looks pretty interesting!
Looks like the people on the picture are rushing to see something or to tell something! Hope something “important” happens with this patch!
Also a LFG tool… and duels… and capes…
In both pictures some of the people look like they are in some kind of uniform, since a bunch of people are in purple/brown color schemes. Possibly yet another temp faction?
Please give us a keyring…
The Svanir join up with the Nightmare Court in the last unlikely alliance that hasn’t been formed yet, Mordremoth revealed at last, Tengu a playable race, and more!
Maybe the “FW” refers to Firstwatch.
From Firstwatch Sergio in Guild Wars 1:
What is a “Firstwatch?”
“Why, I am the leader of the Lionguard! My predecessor had allowed the reputation of the Lionguard to falter, but I mean to restore honor and glory to her ranks once more.”
Is it just me, or does it look like this place:

No, it does not look like the temple of the silent storm.

Ah, I had never heard of this place (PvE player here). Thanks for letting me know!
Still looks similar to me though, from that top down perspective. Though you are right, it looks nothing like it on the wiki haha.

Compare The picture he posted with This picture called ‘Temple_of_the_Silent_Storm_map’ .
Nope. I see no similarities.
Smough The Cruel [WvW] – Warrior
The place looks like it has tribal and canthan influences, possibly suggesting Tengu.
Side note: Savnir and nightmare court wouldn’t team up. I honestly think the Nightmare court is from the Jungle Dragon’s corruption, possibly that is how he does it. Chaos.
When looking at the large wallpaper image, I see a couple very large waterfalls in the background. This area seems to be built at the bottom of a large rock structure. The color of the water leads me to believe that it is a tropical area like Southsun Cove or around that area.
The majority of speculation seems to be pointing to the Dominion of Winds with FW meaning “Four Winds”. This is because the Tengu have four houses and their home is the Dominion of Winds.
Here is a quote from the wiki describing the Tengu’s houses:
“Modern tengu that live within the Dominion of Winds have long since put aside their differences and now live under four houses – North, South, East, and West. These four houses are named after the winds, and were created to unify the tengu while allowing them to preserve their clans’ unique cultures.”
So the most likely conclusion is that FW stands for Four Winds. The Dominion of Winds is in a tropical area which the wallpaper image seems to be as well.
The Dominion of Winds is the only thing that makes a lot of sense.

Something about winds does sound right, with the new stuff data mined on reddit.

I’m thinking Beer of the Five Warriors… bar brawl finally arrives!

I bet more than half the community haven’t even participated in keg brawl nor knew of its existence… I didn’t know about it until very recently lol and still don’t even know where to go to participate in it!
Potentially Tengu? No, couldn’t be. Then again, the Aetherblade retreat is pretty close to the Shuttered Gate. Maybe a connection there? Probably not. (But, man, do I wish it would be.)
BTW, how big is the Tengu area? There’s a gate in Caledon and in LA, and a wall in Kessex. Seems like it would be a wonky shaped area.
Have you seen the map of the dungeon? It’s actually completely within Tengu territory.
The new dungeon ins’t under the Tengu city. The wall in LA doesn’t mark their city (the one in Caledon and Kessex does). It’s under what would probably be an explorable area with exits to the Tengu city though (you can see the book for the dominion of winds location in the map, it’s not big enough to reach to Lion’s Arc).

I want to say Tengu… But I wont set my expectations that high.
I think Tengu as well. They where planned but pulled at the last minute for technical reasons, or so I understand anyway. If the technical reasons have been fixed they will be a playable class. If they can’t be fixed then the areas might open up as NPC only and the races we have available now need to go in and help/stop the tengu.

Tengu class? sounds interesting
time to roll an Asura tengu

I think a Charr tengu would be pretty OP.

I want to be a Charr Asura.
Perhaps it could be related with the great collapse hole in divinity reach.
Well that page has been updated (or so I believe, tried yesterday but the image took me nowhere):

Ah yes the wonders of changing terms.
Anyone else think Anet has the most beautiful airship designs ever?
I think a safe bet is it will contain more Ranger nerfs.
