1st of 4 part ending
Yes, they’ll removed 3 more updates and somehow cram it in to the next update within the next week.
Wow this topic is really constructive…. Oh wait it isn’t, never mind!
It is probably going to end up being a 4 part finale.
If the 4th part ends well I won’t complain.
Here’s my prediction on the parts, with the last 2 being my hopes.
Part 1: The new world bosses are unleashed by Scarlet, we find something that leads us to understand her evil plot.
Part 2: We try to circumvent her plot, and end up discovering her evil lair, with the Pact working together along with Marjory, Rox, Braham, and Kasmeer to dispel the defenses so we can get inside.
Part 3: We reach the inner sanctum, and destroy her lair, with her playing with our minds again, only for us to reach the end and find out she’s off to finalize her plan.
Part 4: We face off against her in a final showdown of epic proportions, only to realize that her death was the last cog in her plan, leading to the revival of Mordramoth, the Jungle Dragon.
Next Living Story Arc: We’re off to the Maguuma Jungle to stop this dragon before he reeks havoc!
PvE Main – Zar Poisonclaw – Daredevil
WvW Main – Ghost Mistcaller – Herald
@OP, you ever watch 3 seasons of a show, and then in the 4th season, they know it will be the last one ever? So what ends up happening, is they try to cram everything into it, which ends up making it worse and incoherent. I’d rather just let A-net finish up, so this way it feels at least somewhat finished with clarity.
Judging by the way Anet writers pace this story I suspect we don’t find out anything new about scarlet until the 4th and final chapter when Anet reveals her master plan. Of course at that point nobody really cares and just wants to see the end of her.
It’ll probably be something lame like: Scarlet witnessed a possibly future of the world destroyed by dragons in the eternal alchemy and went mad, and then took steps to change the future. But you defeated her mad plans, congratulations – here’s a chest with a mini scarlet reward you’ll never use.

I know several people who will, just to burn her in effigy.
I’m excited to see what happens.

I already own a mini-Scarlet. Lol.
honestly I’d be a little annoyed if this ended in 1 event. Least we know with it being 4 part its gonna hopefully be interesting.
Yes, Scarlet as mad anti-hero. I can see it. Totally not-serious predictions:
1. Players discover how to use new time-bending technology (which Scarlet has access to as well), which functions at least in part due to the reality-distorting impact of the Elder Dragons. A gate takes players to a lifeless future Tyria populated only by Steam Creatures and mechanical Golems (and the occasional Wurm), because the Elder Dragons, particularly Primordus, drained Tyria of all life and magic. Fighting our way to escape this future, we learn that Scarlet, present in the time of Guild Wars 1, played an instrumental role in the events of EOTN, somehow causing Primordus to first awaken which led to the rise of the Great Destroyer and eventually the other Elder Dragons (the thumpers, despite being in the present, are preparation for this plot). Players also learn that Scarlet’s mastery of magic and technology has advanced enough that only a weapon built using a material no longer found on Tyria (the last reserves were used up by the Seers in building the bloodstones) can harm her now.
2. Fortunately, there’s time travel, so players travel to the past to get the necessary material. Another time gate takes players back to a time long before humans arrived on Tyria, when ancient races vied for control of the world. Players land in the middle of a war between Cave Norn and a race of serpentine humanoids that served as ancestor of both the Krait and the Forgotten. The Cave Norn help the players recover the needed material, and the reptiles are dealt a decisive blow in the war. Realizing that they are on the path to permanent decline, they opt for a final act of revenge, setting in motion a beacon that will draw the Elder Dragons (and later, the human gods) to Tyria. Also, lots of fights with dinosaurs from EOTN.
3. Finally, the players are prepared to fight their way past Inquest protectors (since they can easily infiltrate ancient Asura society) to face Scarlet in the time of GW1, to prevent her from awakening Lav… err, Primordus. However, in defeating her, they realize that she had in her own misguided way sought to protect the future by defeating the Elder Dragon. Now, however, the disruption of her plan has further destabilized time and space, opening uncontrolled time gates throughout Tyria through which new horrors, representing a hybrid of Margonite and Dragon Minion, have begun to pour, while portions of Tyria are simply transformed completely as incompatible timelines conflict.
4. With Scarlet’s minions (bar the Krait) temporarily allied with the Pact to keep the invasion at bay, the time and location of the invasion is determined to be in the ancient past, around the time of Abaddon’s fall. The players travel back with Scarlet, Destiny’s Edge, and other NPCs, and experience the fall of Abaddon directly — except that the timeline has now changed. Abaddon has reversed the time rifts’ connection to dragons, building a device that harnesses the rifts in his time to extract draconic energy, giving him an edge over the 5 gods. If the players do not intervene, he will be victorious, the timeline will change completely, and the dragons will have awakened even earlier and destroyed all. Toward the end, Scarlet finally shows up and heroically sacrifices herself to disrupt Abaddon’s draconic energy reactor, absorbing its energies and everything connected into it (meaning, Abaddon and his servants) into herself. She is physically destroyed, but her mad, tortured mind, already besieged by the Sylvari Nightmare, continues to exist as a nightmarish realm of torment in the Mists, and as a prison for Abaddon and the Margonites. And that’s how Scarlet Briar was present at the fall of Abaddon. Coming soon to a Fractal near you.
Just spitballing, tho.
It is probably going to end up being a 4 part finale.

It won’t end well. Trahaerne keeps predicting it since the launch.

It can get any worse and more incoherent than it already is? That’s news to me. Honestly.
Remember, remember, 15th of November

Haven’t you figured it out by now? It can always get worse.
I’m not going to begin to brainstorm how.
Kasmeer is going to betray us. If she isn’t working for Scarlett, blackmail… possibly, then she is some bizarre alter-ego or living illusion caused by Scarlett’s madness. Remember, while we were in southsun Scarlett was already setting things in motion.

Is it just me or does your theory sound an awful lot like the story from Chronotrigger?

This needs to happen. A mini Scarlet that is eternally on fire, running around frantically, with an adaptation of the toy doll scream every few minutes.

Total and absolute coincidence. Must have been.
Just because season 1 ends doesn’t mean that we will defeat scarlet at the end of season 1, just sayin.
Currently playing Heart of Thorns.
I already own a mini-Scarlet. Lol.
I got one of those from a black lion chest. I deleted it a few seconds later. I want nothing to do with this horrifically written character.
1. We battle for our lives against the giant bosses
2. We defeat them and gain access to Scarlet’s lair, and upon getting in we discover that she is planning an even larger enemy/ she has created a new kind of race
3. We battle the enemy and defeat it/ We kill the only one of the new race and stop her from making more
4. We find out Scarlet was trying to save the world from the elder dragons, but went crazy and started testing her devices designed to save the world on the people inhabiting it.
1. Lots of fighting, no story
2. Little Story, lots of fighting
3. lots of fighting, cliffhanger
4. explosions everywhere, scarlet dies, whispering a few last words to explain everything, but noone can understand it.

Perhaps we get a scarlet backpack, then her deranged creepy smile can motivate us forever!
In the end of this act Scarlet marries Trahearne and they have a baby.

I will be okay with this plan, if the first thing Mordramoth does is growl, “lol thx scarlet” and then bite her in half.

Cue the Omen theme music.
