Not really….
We only see a couple in the existing game. Doesn’t it make you wonder where they came from? They have to have an origin somewhere.

Good point. :P
I have solo’d that Nageling giant on a Ranger, I am unafraid!
So I just noticed in the trailer, that base that gets destroyed is the pact base in timberline falls.
Or learn to dodge in melee range intead of range exploit it. =]

Oh, please no…not Timberline Falls!
Turned the beautiful Kessex Hills into a wasteland that still drives me away. I really hope they do not destroy/muck up my favorite of favorite zones!
:\ I wish they would put more effort into opening up new areas instead of insisting on “altering” (read: destroying) the beautiful ones we’ve come to love.

It might be just they plan to show Morde attacking the pact directly. I mean that’s some pretty kitten far reaching corruption, assuming the vines are his(her?) work.
If I recall, a month back one of the devs said to buy a lot of a certain food…
Condition damage reduction? Increased boon duration?

Ehhhm… okay, you got me on that one!

It seems to be using the WP-system to corrupt things ^^

Makes sense, which is rather terrifying if you think about it. We learned to use tech to down a force of nature, now another force of nature is using that tech against us.
Indeed, and it does fit with the reveal about Scarlets knowledge of Mobile Way-points ^^

It kind of makes me wonder if Morde might be the most intelligent (and now most powerful, feeding directly off a leyline and all)
Indeed, it does seem to go straight for the Pact at least, which would suggest it has already identified one of its major opponents. (And Prosperity if it sees us as major threats as well ^^ )

It seems more like this giant is with the bandits that seem to be converging on Town of Prosperity. Man, I knew Prosperity was fishy but it’s in for a world trouble… and it’s coming in doubles.
Also, Timberlin Falls tho!

Well Prosperity is a given. I mean it’s Meguuma territory so Mord is right bellow it. But it’s going practically right across the continent.
I wonder if that’s a ley line the emerald things are coiling around. That could mean maybe we use the mine to escape? You have the thorns on the zone in to Dry Top and the vine is attacking the first waypoint which has been causing it and some in Brisban to flicker. With Bandits on one end and Vines on the other, I’m guess (not certain) we’re running to the mines.
The same energy-looking stream you see encased in the floating moss-covered broken rock-looking things in the large cavern are also seen flowing in and out of the holes of the rock walls. I don’t know if that points to Ley Line or not.
I like the cavern though, it looks cool! I wonder if, indeed, it is accessed from the mines.
Timberline Falls seems well out the way, however my thoughts go back to a Pale Tree being strangled by vines. Seems it could happen sooner than later now.
Ok I’ll just hop on my Mesmer and….oh
Wow…it’s the exact same giant.

that giant in nageling looks exactly like the friendly giant whos scared of rabbits and, kol skullsmasher.

But I’m an engie.. we only have one stability skill, and thats only for 4 seconds every 30
Oh and a mortar aka sitting-duck gives stability, at the expense of living.

I have sadly long since learned that if I want to ‘play’ I can use my Engineer, but if I want to ‘succeed’, I need to change to a Warrior.

Uhm, you also have 2 fairly long lasting blocks with toolkit and shield, fast endurance regen, blinds…I mean really. Not everything needs you to be a flippin’ warrior in this game. Learn the classes.

Oh someone hand this person a prize. Please! Someone (else) finally said it!
Giants are one of the easiest enemies in the game to dodge considering how slow they are. Stability is hardly a requirement.
Plus, the damage they do is so high that if you aren’t dodging your going to be screwed anyway, regardless of stability, unless you’re running a bulky build with a lot of sustained healing.
Mind you, a LS boss giant might be a bit different mechanically than normal giants, but I’d imagine the basic premise of the enemy would be the same.
