Hi,

(sorry for my English, I’m a native French speaker)

long story short.

I saw a green star on my screen on Tuesday but did not click it until today (when I decided to go play the current Living Story episode). I clicked it today but did not received the usual mail telling me where to go, I also cannot see any green arrow showing me where to go and/or to whom I should talk.

I tried to walk to the Silverwastes to see if any script could be triggered, but nothing actually tells me what to do. I’ve been in Fort salma too to see if I could manually go into a living story instance but I cannot see anything.

I’m completely lost. Anyone may help?

You need to click on your story journal in the hero panel and not the achievement panel.
Please see the attached picture.

(Please note: I have finished the story already so mine says “Replay this episode”. Your’s will say “Play this episode”).

Make sure your mailbox is clear and your tp inbox is empty. Also go into your story journal tab, select the chapter and hit padlock.

One of those 3 options should kick it into action for you

Have you checked your story journal? it can be you need to activate it there to start the episode.

2) I took everything waiting from the BLTC
3) I have been in my “Story Journal” tab (see #1 attachment in the OP)

I tend to think that the episode is “half” activated, that is achievements from the current living story are active while I cannot actually play the current living story instances.

Before saying “it’s a bug” and ask CS for some help, i’d rather check if I did not fail somewhere, actually.

Thanks to everyone there, i will finally play this chapter \o/ espacially to CatharticOxymoron who gave me a visual answer I have learnt something today thanks to you.

Actually I think that I got a little confused with the “choose the episode you want to play” mechanics cause I juste realized it was a “soul bound” process and that it cannot be played with a character under 80. So I guess the current episode did not trigger as I may have clicked on the “green episode cross” with my sub 80 character.

Well, from your first screenshot, you were on the right character but just in the wrong tab. I suppose it can be quite confusing if you weren’t playing back in July when the Story Journal mechanic was introduced (https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/introducing-the-story-journal/ FYI), and you probably won’t be the only one confused. Clicking the “view in journal” should have at least indicated the page needed to start the chapter.

Si vous voulez jouer les chapitres avantes, donnez-moi un message en jeu et je peux les jouer avec vous. (Je m’excuse mon français, je suis anglophone.) Etes-vous français(e), or québeçois(e)? C’est pas importante, mais je suis curieux.

Phew! Even that short little paragraph gave my brain a well-deserved workout. Even living in a place with many francophones around me, I don’t practice nearly often enough.
