So I see to buy the recipes I need to have the geodes and favor of the zephors. I also notice that I have pop ups on my screen stating that favor 1 or 2 of the zephors has been reached, but I am never able to buy any recipes. Is this an actual token I am suppose to get somewhere for the vendor or what? How do I purchase things from this vendor?

Does anyone know how to purchase items from the vendor in the new area?

The vendors require Geodes for everything.

Even the simple things like salvage kits, which is just absurd.

You get geodes from reward chests just by playing through (and replaying) the story.

As far as I can tell those aren’t real tokens, they’re there to block you from buying it if you don’t have the correct reputation level for the repeating zone wide event but still allow you to browse the items.

Essentially, you can buy tier 1 and lower when the zone is at tier 1 progression. You can then buy tier 2 and lower when the zone is at tier 2 progression and so on. The zone progression resets after the sandstorm is over because apparently sand causes amnesia or something.

That is what I thought but even when it says that I saw earned rank 2 and the vendor was blocked out, so I am really confused on how to get the recipes. Have you all bought anything other than keys yet? I was able to buy 1 key no problem, but everything else is blocked. I will try again tmr, but it just seems like I can’t access the vendors for the recipes.

Were you trying to buy during the sandstorm (that was when I looked that the vendor)? Or maybe it is a bug.

I am not sure I will try again and see. Maybe that was the problem.

Each of the bags at the side represents an increasing level of favor. When it’s at one, you can only buy at level one (just the keys). When it’s at level two, the level 1 bag disappears, and you can buy everything at level 2 (the keys, and some new stuff). I assume that this will continue as you go up in favor levels, with the top bag being what you can currently buy, and the lower bags showing what you can buy if you get the favor higher.

So the question is: Were you trying to buy from the topmost bag/selection?

Wooden Potatoes has a YouTube video that explains quite well how the vendor works. You might try viewing that for help understanding how many things work in the new patch.

I dont understand the vendor either as it seemed each level of favor i gained the vendor would then want the next level of favor before unlocking anything. I’ll check that video Inculpatos.

Ok after watching that video i went to the vendor in game. Note that when I did the Zephyrite favor was at 2 but on the first tab of the vendor which was tier 1 I seemed to see ALL Maguuma related items with BOTH a price cost and geo cost and on tab 2 was tier 3 which had an icon with a red one at each item which when I hovered over said tier 3. I guess what that means is that when tier 3 is achieved that icon change to a gold price.

Yes, you can only use the vendor’s tier when it matches the Favor tier. Gold and Geodes required. The higher the tier, the lower the cost for items. To encourage players to complete content there and thus, be rewarded (with lower costs).
