Ley Line Weapons
I can give a better opinion with a screenshot
The staff, scepter are torch are nice. The rest…
I really was hoping for a better looking axe skin imo.
But yeah staff and scepter are great.
Taking a break from GW2 to play various
Nintendo games..
I absolutely want the focus for my Mesmer and am considering the Rifle for my Engi and possibly the Hammer for my Guardian.
Fate is just the weight of circumstances
That’s the way that lady luck dances
It bothers me that both the rifle and the pistol have no hole in the barrel and no moving parts. How do Engineers use different kinds of ammo when the gun doesn’t actually use ammo?
The staff and scepter are cool looking. Most of the rest I can take or leave. The warhorn is kind of laughable for the same reason as the guns, though it has needlessly moving parts instead of none.
delicate, brick-like subtlety.
The focus looks hot, especially for my guardian.
Greatsword looks just like all the others.
Scepter looks nice too.

From the design and special effects the Ley line Rifle and Pistol are basically laser guns. Their bullet are just lasers created by the magical energy these weapon generate.
Or you could just call it a magical railgun made out of stone.
from my point of view they look like broken off rocks roughly shaped like weapons… not a fan of the colour theme and the “crude” design… but then again thats just my opinion.

Well it could work if you’re going for that Magic using Engineer look.
the design doesn’t really fit with my character, but i really like some of them. most notably
-Axe
-Torch
-Hammer
-Warhorn
-Scepter
-and ESPECIALLY both bows.
the rest are kinda meh in my books though.
it’s too bad I already have a longbow skin or I might have gotten this one
They look neat…although, I can’t help but feel that they took the “shapes” of other weapon skins, then just changed it to these mossy rock textures with the blue glow. They mostly seem okay, though nothing in particular stands out to me yet.
Though design is strange have anyone considered why this weapon skin was released on the Season 2 Living World Episode 2 release which we had a certain strange “Shocking” Mass Effect moment near the ending of Episode 2?
Who knows but maybe the Weapon is a side effect from our character’s experience.

Probably, the most boring BL weapon skin set so far.
Ugly and clunky looking, all of them. With basic shapes like these, I really don’t care what kind of graphical/audio effects they have. The phrase “polishing a length of faecal matter” springs to mind. (Avoiding the kitten.)
Yeah, I’m not a fan of the Ley Line weapons myself. The crude, unfinished rock appearance of the actual weapons just doesn’t appeal to me. Still, if people like them and want to use them, good for them. More options is always good!
I would love to see a video of the new rifle and pistol sounds if anyone can make one.
Love the staff and the stowing animation that i have on my celestially coloued mesmer. Although the head of the staff would look nicer if its a nice sculpt instead of a broken moon look.
Give us Mounts, Anet! Pretty Please with Chocolate, Whipped Cream, Cherry and Mayonnaise? d^_^b
I went ahead and got the warhorn. I’m honestly more interested in the ambrite weapons, though I’m not looking forward to the grind to get them.
They are surprisingly expensive at the moment – usually a whole load of people with tickets put new weapons on the market and they stabilise at around 50 gold for a while – did people just not have tickets this time or do they reckon they are not going to sell?

50-70g is where new weps get released for, wait for 2 weeks and they will all have be around 40-60ish. I doubt this set will gain too much value even when it goes to 5 tickets.
really? maybe it’s just me, but i like the “ancient, worn weapon” vibe from them. the shiny stuff just adds up. one of my favorite monster hunter greatswords is one that has half of it lost to rust.
the staff is better than the bifrost >.>
They don’t look like real weapons to me, but like something carved out of rock by someone who thought that’s what weapons look like but never actually saw real ones up close.
Other than the bow, I’m not too impressed with this set of weapons. Plus I’m still collecting all the Tormented skins, so no money to start on another set.
Side note: Mursaat weapon skins, Anet. Let’s go. On the hammer, don’t use the skin that came with Bonus Mission Pack; use original Prophecies skin, please.
The longbow o_0, it’s huge and shiny.
We need more huge longbows. :o (and shiny, but I know there are some people who don’t like the shine)
Can anyone who has the longbow throw up a video of it being used in combat?
Edit: nvm, seen them on dulfy.

The rifle sounds like some sort of space weapon and even has a powering up sound.
I love the warhorn. I’m just left wondering why the pistol/rifle gets unique sounds but the weapon that is actually an instrument for sound does not.
ETA: It also continuously bums me out that all the weapons are the same ticket price. Is the staff really worth the same as the warhorn? Because I’d argue no.

Now how in the world are they supposed to adjust prices for individual preferences? It’s not like ANet is going to know ahead of time which will be most favored.
Someone playing a warrior would be much more interested in a warhorn skin than a staff. For me, the staff is the best one and the warhorn about the least.
Instead of wasting many time, ressources and energy with such boring ugly weapons like those ley line weapons, they should finalyl begin to invest their tiem with stuff, that is really interesting, what really IMPROVES the game.
Stuff like adding finally Precursor Crafting, adding new legendary weapons, adding more ways to get on ascended items, than only hoping on the RNG god, or through crafting.
Making finally changes to the WvW Achievements or adding finalyl all that stuff, which should have been in thh game from begin on, like Polymock, Bar Brawls, or Shooting Range as new Minigames.
Even if just budget is there only for subtle improvements, Anet could improve the game finally by adding:
- new dances
- far more new EMOTES
- new Guild Emblems, Emblem Backgrounds, Emblem Colors ect.
- more Tatoos, Fur Types
- more Battle Comments (it gets boring, if you hear for the millioth time that you are a thorny rose thats showing her thorns ….)
Instead of removing simply older ticket weapon skins, they could just make them earnable in the game through effort. ANet can add anyways whenever they want new ticket weapon skins if they want to make money with them and they see, that the older weapon sales doesn’t make so much sales anymore.
Then simply change an old set out for a new set and make the new set earnable for players through the mystic forge … that way the game would receive at least some good new gold/material sinks and players would easily receive some new stuff to earn, instead of gambling always with the antisocial RNG system.

It isn’t about looks but 1 hand vs 2 hand weapons. Instead of making 1 hands cost 1/2 a ticket, Anet would just double the price for 2 hand weapons.
by level 80 should have the best statistical loot in the game.”

What Egon said. It’s the same reason the Sovereign weapon skins were different costs of gold depending on the handedness of them.
They could make a one-handed black lion claim ticket. Make it Silver or something, idk. I’m sure there is a way if there is a will. Gold tickets can be exchanged for a two handed or reduced to two silver tickets by a weapons specialist, silvers only redeemed for one hands et voila.
The rifle sounds like some sort of space weapon and even has a powering up sound.
Wow. Okay, now I want that. Way back in the beginning, I felt that the Glyphic guns should’ve had effects similar to that (having a charging sound when drawn, and maybe shooting electro ball lightning bullets or something like that, which is kind of what some Inquest can do with melee weapons, for some reason).

Oh I see.
Not likely to happen.
They would have to then increase all the ticket prices on all the two handed weapons. The most expensive ones would go from 7 tickets to 14. The other older ones would go from 5 to 10. This would provoke numerous outraged posts on the forum, including accusations that ANet is doing this to force people to buy gems.
There is an old saying, if it’s not broken don’t fix it.
I always liked rough, brutal designs without flashy effects. If those new weapons did not have flashy auras, I would buy them.
Since they do, meh, another weapon for wannabe anime fairies.

i care about ley line weapons far more than any of those things you listed! funny how opinions work, right?

meh.. to me they look like rocks with some magic and thats it. Who likes it.. all hail to you. I bought some of the skins with tickets that piled up and sold em on the TP.. im 200g richer and somebody else is happy with them so all win. I hope next weapon sets go into “slickpack” like designs… some poison green, alchemy and technology and some gears.. ya know
