“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
We're doing this all wrong
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
I’m still confused why its such a hassle for the leaders to meet. Its probably quicker even with Asura Gates to get to the Grove than it is to walk to the next zone for them. Phlunt prob would have taken far longer getting to Dry Top.
Not really seeing a reason why they would be so inconvenienced

Although it may not be portrayed this way in game, but Summits usually last for more than one day. I look at the leaders as I would normal world leaders. They are very busy managing their respective countries and a summit would take precious time away from their work. Plus the way the story puts it, most of them deem this summit to be pointless as none of them see Mordy as an immediate threat compared to all of the other problems each nation is facing.
Although I would think an active elder dragon would be an immediate need for a summit between world leaders.
Unfortunately, the thing about the summit, for me, is that we should have had this type of storyline happen during the personal story, not two seasons into the living world. The fact that the leaders are only just now being called together to unite is sort of odd. I mean sure, we united the orders, but the entire premise of the game was uniting the five races, not three orders.
It’s nice to have a tie back to the original trailers for Guild Wars 2 before the game launched, but I feel it’s a bit late in the game to be tying ourselves back to it. Storywise, at least. We should’ve done all of that in the personal story when we were getting ready to fight Zhaitan.
I’d rather Destiny’s Edge be dismantled, permanently. I don’t mind them as individual characters (some more than others), but as a team I find them insufferable.

Really? I actually don’t happen to mind Destiny’s Edge as a team. In the personal story they might start out slightly annoying the first time they meet, but they always seemed to come off better in later stages of the story (including Living World.)
Rytlock, Eir, and Logan may be well known and influential…
But they’re still not recognized as the “leader” of their respective races.
The Pact’s already been aware of Mordremoth and have been taking action and planning. (Hence Traeherne’s letter that he’ll be there.)
We have to meet at the Grove, because I don’t think the Pale Tree can make her avatar appear elsewhere.
Of course they (we) should of approached people that are respected. We did take out Zhaitan after all with those people. Instead we use the munch bunch to contact the leaders of each faction, people who their relationships are strained as it is.
At least the writers are consistent with their logic and reasoning.
I think what’s annoying about the summit is it’s made to sound like some monsterous task when the personal story basically has us unite the races of Tyria to fight Zhaitan. What’s going on is the same problem that plagued Mass Effect, it’s been done before but the races make it sound like it’s a new concept.
We get them together so the dragon can attack them all at once.

to think these writers have an original thought. They have no creativity, they rest on the talent of the artist and design team that is carrying these writers on their back. I hope the writers thank them for giving them a chance.
I still don’t get why we’re shown to be “the hero” or “the boss”. What do we really do? Zip nothing. All we do is miraculously always be the one everyone wants to talk to and use us to relay info when the other party is standing right next to them.
Plus doing it twice so my GF and me can see each dialogue option and both times miraculously a different person being the one to kill scarlet is silly as far as encounter / dialogue design goes.
All of this x 100.. I was literally sitting there hitting my head on the desk. Why is this summit required when there is the Pact with its whole purpose being to go after Elder Dragons??
I’m sorry, I don’t buy it. I only really play this Living Story for its story and the first parts where amazing with big reveals about the world of Tyria. This one kinda fell flat. The Pale Tree never even bothered to explain our vision…
I think this summit will obviously end with chaos. I mean Mordremoth is the dragon that is able to control plants, nature, etc. and the summit takes place in the biggest tree in Tyria? I smell trouble!
The Pact will be there. Didn’t you get Trahearne’s memo?
Why can’t we just accept out new Dragon overlords? I welcome them!
Why not start by going to the people who have already committed themselves to fighting the dragons: The Pact and Destiny’s Edge? They should be interested regardless of anything we do, as far as I know everyone in our group gets along with them (and our characters are a member of one Order and a Commander in the Pact).
Trahearne sends you a letter, he’s coming to the summit so there’s no real need to do a fetch quest to get the Pack on-board since they already are.

Bureaucracy.

We don’t unite the races we unite the Packs. Yeah I know semantics (since the Packs are partially supported by the various nations) but the Packs don’t consist of the armed forces of the various nations.
We get them together so the dragon can attack them all at once.
Because we’re subtly under the influence of Mordy after going into Omadd’s machine!

I for one welcome our new plant-based overlord.
While the Pact was able to defeat Zhaitan, I think that its going to take more then the Pact to take on Mordremoth. The Pact isn’t tied to any nation, or race, either so they would need the Pact to help organize. It makes sense to bring the world leaders together to figure out what needs to be done.
It’s the chain I beat you with until you
recognize my command!”
