This really bugged me. Why did she insiste we send up a flare? It was obvious that it would give away our position to all the mordrem in the area, as Canach sarcastically pointed out. I don’t think Caithe is bright enough to lead anything.

Perhaps she wanted that… Caithe is supposed to have a secret, one that Scarlet (who was hearing Mordremoth in her head) knew about. Maybe she wanted to give away our position? Who knows.

Probably because we needed a chopper to get us out of there and needed to let siad chopper know where we were.

Well, shucks, you guys, why didn’t we just waypoint out of there? We got these wonderful waypoint things that are so great we don’t mounts — so why would we need choppers? Or ships at sea. Or anything else! It’s silly.

Also: we’ve got super laser beam thingees that can slice chunks off elder dragons — and choppers and submarines. How do they communicate in the field (or at sea)?

How come nobody has invented a radio?

The table is a fable.

Because its too simply, in their eyes real heros dont need radios in their vehicles. They will organize with colored flags, just like the first french tanks.

Well, we do need to get to the waypoint before they can be activated. That’s why we need to transport out to them. As for why the troops didn’t just waypoint out… Well, I think it’s the two Seraph in Fort Vandal that talk about how after the Mordremoth attack on the system made some of them wary of using it again. I’m not saying that it wouldn’t have been a viable option, but clearly the waypoints aren’t a perfect solution to getting a squad out.

Yeah, that was really stupid. Especially for Caithe, who’s supposed to be a capable spy and thief. I’d expect that sort of thing from Braham, but Caithe? C’mon now.

Why do we even need a chopper to get out anyway? Just walk back out the way you came in. Its not that far, and the enemies are already dead. Even if more enemies have shown up in the area as you climbed up, its certainly going to be less than what you’ll attract by throwing up a giant “Hey, over here, come and kill us” bomb to the sky.

What you’ve just done is proven intelligence on the part of the Mordrem…yes, intelligence. They would have to be intelligent creatures(minions) to know what a signal flare was and the significance of it at the same time…which is something we really haven’t seen to much of from mobs. Think about if before you respond…and remember, there is no waypoint out in the farthest reaches of the Silverwastes(technically, even though we can jump from anywhere on the map to a waypoint we are really going from one waypoint to another, even if you aren’t near one, that is the concept, consider them as mini-Asura gates).

I know the secret!. Caithe was secretly in love with Rytlock. But Logan was secretly in love with her. Caithe decided to break the racial taboo and try it on with Rytlock. Only for Rytlock to knock her back. Caithe cried her plant eyes out on Logan shoulders, who then made his move. Rytlock realised his mistake and found he did have feelings for her, went over to Caithe. Only to see Caithe and Logan getting all lovey-dovey. Rytlock temper got the best of him, threatened Logan. Who went all chicken and went running to Jenna (who he was two timing with). Rytlock then went to Caithe, only to find out that Caithe is pregnant with Mordemoths baby. Rytlock went suicidal and jumped in to the mists.

I kid.

From an ex-military standpoint. Extraction from enemy territory. Air lift is quickest way to extract team. Caithe’s secret is not so secret. Faolin Is her secret. People love gossip.

Although it’s not confirmed anywhere, I believe that waypoints work this way. Only reason you don’t have to reach a waypoint to use it is to save time for the players, but I believe lore-wise what happens is you run to a waypoint before traveling to a different one.

This is definitely what happens the few times NPCs use them. They run to the nearest waypoint and then disappear.
