I mean christ, was the map really that bad? People who’ve been playing for a good while think it’s a brand new map while in actuality it’s just a QUICK rehash of an old empty map introduced way back in november.

By saying quick, you don’t even need to pay attention how quickly all the new content (models) was put together. Clipping everywhere, stairs starting IN rocks and going nowhere. Pointless 3d models just copy pasted all over the thing.

Honestly just to spite not being deleted, my constructive criticsm is that please at least TRY to make it look like some effort was put in. It’s such a quick job that it’s appaling considering how “professional” this game was meant to be. This is far from quality content as well as “expansion pack worthy” content.

What it feels like is an excuse for new gemstore items for those few who love to spend dollas for useless rng based stuff.

Clearly what we have here is a very old staircase, and a rare variety of particularly fast-growing rocks. You can see the same thing in the water south of the gate, where the rocks have grown in so suddenly that they affect the natural pathing habits of AI sharks.

I really like the tiki huts and new decorations. Only thing I dislike is the grass texture in front of the large fort – it ends suddenly (large line) where the southsun sand begins. There needs to be some kind of transition.

I think this is a flawed argument in this case. If someone doesn’t have a particular skill, they should still be able to criticize those who have the skill but perform poorly. That sentiment is valid when someone is performing a service for another for altruistic reasons.

The strange line has been fixed btw ; p so the ground doesnt look weird anymore.

Actually, I thought it fits the theme pretty well.

I mean the efforts of the Consortium to try to turn a hostile environment into some kind of holiday resort ASAP.

Dangerous cliff? Nail some boards over it!
Shark infested beach? Build some refreshment bars there!
Crazed, lethal crab-creature? Drape some curtains over them!

yes maybe a few things may bit off, but I’v seen this issue in every MMO to date free and subscription alike. I’m with Rengaru on this, the new enviroment does give off the feeling that everything is rushed (not graphic wise)

its obvious that the consortium is trying to cover up the dangers and make it look like a perfect resort tho i’m not sure how bird nest style platforms count as housing.

Regardless of any erroneous esthetic elements, I hope that Southsun retains the majority of its newly-bestowed entertainment enhancements once the living story moves on to the next chapter.

I love what they’ve done to the place. I would love it even more if the building would take place in real time instead of being delivered with a patch. Oh I so wanted to have a nap in one of those hutts, but they forgot a door – well that’s what you get when you don’t hire professionals and instead use refugees as cheap labour!

This all just seems a tad to emotionally involved for a random staircase in a massive game in its infancy, I just sought to being some perspective to the largely childish and lazy tone of the o.p. By all means, appreciate nothing and complain about everything…thats how things get done.

Many of the areas/cities in this game is not finished. This is intentional. To leave room for improving the game.

Seriously guys, you need to chill out.
What you are critizing is a content you usually pay for and ArenaNet is giving that for free.

I mean, are we really critizing some bad models overlapping? Seriously?
