I encountered a strange phenomena while doing Scarlet’s minion map invasion event (Mount Maelstorm btw) . During the entire event, Scarlet spawned on me over 12 times (lost count -_-). And by that I mean, she knocked my character off and literally spawned at exact same spot.

I am usually alone or have 3-4 people around in event as I avoid zergs. But she spawned on me in every possible scenario. (Alone, with zerg, with few people, within a red event circle, far away from any event circle)

After the final wave was done, . I knew she was going to spawn on me so I was going to the zerg on the map and when she did spawn as expected. I was getting close to the zerg but it was very clear she didnt spawn on the zerg.

I was on the map before event started (was doing jump puzzle) so it may have been the reason why she stalked me but I am not sure.

Has anyone else had similar problem?

YES!!!! accectly I just wanted to do dailies and gathering wasn’t even doing the Event still scarlet had some love too share with me… about 15 times

Happened to me once as well. Every once in awhile scarlet will pick a favorite and keep attacking them.

Got the exact paramour story with her in Harathi Hinterlands. I was actually there before the big invasion event had started, wanted to go there to make sure I had all the waypoints open.

When the event started I was at the Skill point at the top end of the big centaur megacamp. So that’s where she spawned on first time.

After 12 total “kisses” (3-4min it seems intervals between her visits), I figured she might make a final diner reserevation with me so I warped to the skritt tunnel waypoint at top north of map, and stayed at that waypoint so whole zergs could warp on me and get the achievement Scrambler

ps: I still have feelings for you, you can come rustle your leaves over me anytime babe.

Scarlet is very fun.

Now Liadri, however. That’s a different story.

Compared to Scarlet, Liadri is a sadist.

I’m from Tarnished Coast, and this did happen to me, but my rant was mildly interesting at best so that must have been someone else.

Feature or bug? Either way I was entertained. Especially when she jumped me at a merchant while trying to empty my bags.

I do notice that sometimes she seems to keep doing her ‘appear and throw you 20 feet’ thing at me over the course of an invasion. However I tend to just leave her to deal with the people who inevitably try to attack her early.

It was fun. I kept telling my friend, that she follows me, but he didnt believe. But then she attked me alone with no event near, then she attked me in the deepest waters (Bloodtide coast). No matter where i tryed to hide – she followed me. It was hilarious

I think, someone must try to force zerg to fight her in the water

The same happened to me yesterday. I was just cleaning my weapons (full of Aetherblade blood and strange stinking Watchknight oils) when she tried to ram her sword in my back. She did that all over the event, but I feel ok with that, I’m an elementalist and used to attempts to backstab me.

But when she saw me standing near a cliff cleaning up my inventory and pushed me off… Well – now I can accept her as a personal nemesis.

The nice thing about this aggro mechanic is though, that I knew that she would spawn exactly were I was standing for the “boss fight”

Scarlet had a real kitten for me in a Gendarran Fields invasion. After getting drive-by’d no less than 8 times, I was pretty sure she’d spawn on me for the last fight. And she did. Right into a pistol whip, which was promptly followed by me making my escape while directing two rather obscene hand gestures her way. Funny as hell when you’re ready for it.

The same thing happened to me. I just waited for Scarlet every time to give her a kiss xD

I never had this happen to me. Until I cleared her playhouse.

In Scarlet’s Playhouse, you recall Lord Faren said about her being the grudge holding type? And also how she said that you’ve now made it to the top of her list of priorities? It kinda makes sense in the light of all this.

Some of her skills tend to bounce between targets so I’m thinking some others may be collateral damage.

This happened to me too, and I counted 13 times during the event that she spawned on and preferentially attacked me, even if others were attacking her while I tried to get away. Didn’t matter where I was or whether there was an event nearby, she would drop right on me with that nasty knockdown of hers. Down me 8 times and killed me twice.

I just want to know: Who at ArenaNet thinks subjecting a single player to this for 45 minutes is “fun”?

Lol. I’m beginning to really enjoy this Scarlet character. A villain with a real personality! Who knew?

Actually I haven’t had a spawn problem with her, most of the time she’s nearly dead from group attacks when I get there.

I was trying to do CoE which was closed, but the commander was up so my party decided to kill him. Then scarlet invaded and every time we attacked the commander, scarlet showed up and murderd us all.

If this is true then that is a truly EVIL thing for an NPC to do and really innovative. I love the idea of Scarlet singling out a specific player and stalking them.

I doubt it happened intentionally. Their AI seems to generally work in such a way that some players manage to check every box in its list of interests and can remain its sole focus for as long as they’re available to it… and she has access to the entire map as far as I can tell.

Yes, I had this yesterday. More than once, I was running alone to waypoints I did not yet have and despite there being no one else around, not even minions of hers, she spawned directly on me. I thought… well, I’m certain I deserved this somehow. A likely reaction of all married men to being mercilessly hunted by a crazy woman.

It happened to me once out of all the times I’ve done the invasion.

This happened to me this morning. I was killed by her at least 10 times. She always spawned right behind me, even if I was alone away from events. I’d open my map and bam, dead. I took screenshots of some of them. I was starting to think Scarlet is controlled by a mod and they were having fun with me. Here are some screenshots.

This definitely happens. I just had Scarlet make me her pet project in Glendarran Hills. Got downed once and defeated once by her. She would spawn on me even when I was not in combat. And at the end she spawned at my location. I think this may be the second time this has happened to me. Once before I remember thinking it was weird she kept spawning in every fight I was in but it wasn’t as bad previously (she didn’t spawn on me when I was solo ).

Yeah, it happened to me too. I noticed it in 1 map she always spawns behind me and knocks me down. So what I did before the event is finished and it’s the last encounter with here, is move as far away from the crowd, alone. Then she spawned right next to me, lol.

Happened to me too … much to the amusement of the rest of my group. Appearing on my head mid-way through events (as well as at the end) was a special treat.

Had this too… Here I was, going way out of any area where there were events, so I could unlock the WP, when, boom, again, Scarlet landed on top of me…

In the end (we succeeded that map), at least I didn’t have to search for Scarlet :P

Happened to me, 2 different characters, 2 different maps, one right after the other. Spawned on me, knocked me down, and killed me sometimes.

On the first one, when the last wave ended, she spawned on me and killed me. Then I waypointed and she WAYPOINTED TOO or something and killed me again there, along with everyone else that went after I linked.

I just death shrouded and cast fear on her. She ran away like the polished kitten she is!

On Monday, I was in an invasion where there was somebody AFK’ing. Scarlet would return to that person the whole time. Was actually fun to see :P

This has happened a few times to me too. Hilarious and great fun.

Yep. I’ve had this happen as well. The entire time on Fireheart Rise, she was always appearing right on top of me, even if I was miles away from any other group.

I do wonder if it’s intentional. If Scarlet is indeed supposed to be our nemesis, making her constantly harass one player for the whole map invasion is a good way to make her very frustrating.

Had this happen. I died about 15 times to it on one event. Im not sure if its a coincidence, but I was first to attack her when she first spawned at the start of the event and she locked onto me from there. I was a squishy zerker thief and she was two shotting me (after spawning and knocking me down) and her net was one shotting me lol.

And what can I say? Flattered as I may be to have been “The chosen one” for once, given the odds to it (Come on… how many players crowd each map in each invasion)… I wish I would have been rewarded with an exotic piece of armor or something more valuable than that XD… (I’m not the lucky type when loot is involved, honestly). But at least it was fun… I somehow felt… special ….

So I was the lucky one to be stalked by Scarlet on this day, and I recall someone wanted to see an underwater zerg fighting her?
