The Real Scarlet! (IMO)
Hmm, I don’t know … Livia is just too big of a character to be used in the living story like this. I always imagined they would make her part of some end-game content, like a dungeon boss or something.
She isn’t a bad guy.
Also they aren’t introducing Livia in a wrap up.

Perhaps in GW1 she wasn’t but aquiring so much power with the scepter of orr could lead to corruption. We’ll just have to wait till tuesday.
Why the hell would Livia want the Queen dead? She’s the very, very last person who would want to see Kryta burn.
Also, we know that 70 years ago she wasn’t corrupt and didn’t have the scepter of orr anymore.
There goes your theory.

And do you have any references to back that up?

Books dont always follow the exact path as their predececcors suck as games and movies. We’ll just have to wait and see.
Except that the books are canon….
Scarlet = Ellen Kiel = Livia. That would create the perfect storm of events! Being the nemesis in a position of power would enable you to hide in plain sight and be capable of pulling off more of your dark agenda than anything else. Yes Livia is a necromancer, but having the scepter of orr allowing you to live centuries?
There is a flaw with your theory. Livia wants to protect Kryta not destroy it. The Scepter of Orr doesn’t corrupt, the previous user was already corrupted before they even laid a hand on the scepter. Livia retrieved the specter probably to ensure it couldn’t be used against Kryta in the near future by a crazed White Mantle zealot. Its probably within Divinity’s Reach in a secure vault defended by the most brutal of traps to ensure it never stolen. Also the speculation of Ellen Kiel being Scarlet is purely speculation from people who wanted Evon to win. The Aetherblades utilize stolen Airships from the Pact that they simply made some modifications to. As Lion’s Arch is the cultural neutral ground of the five races it likely the airships were constructed near or at Lion’s Arch. Since she is a member of the Lion’s Guard she probably received instruction on how to operate the airships in case of an incident. Also seeing how it utilizes Charr tech it wouldn’t be too hard to figure out how to operate the airship, remember Charr value simplicity for the sake of mass production. Now if it was purely Asura magitech then there will be problems. It could be equally possible that Scarlet is one of Evon’s employees that he supporting so that the competition can be thoroughly crushed as it springs up without him getting his claws dirty.
Living that amount of time would give you more than enough time to master a second profession. Like a mesmer for example being able to warp time. Mesmer + Necromancer = chronomancer?
She could of mastered all the professions by this time. Remember in the original Guild Wars we had the ability to master two professions. I wouldn’t be surprised that if they do show Livia she has her own unique profession that combined the strengths of all the previous and current professions into one. Also the combining of these two professions won’t lead to chronomancy as it takes more than raising the dead and casting a few illusions to be able to manipulate the very fabric of time.
Livia is the leader of the shining blade and they are to guard all the kings and queens of kryta? Sure sounds like a plot to me. But then again I’m probably dead wrong lol. But if this is any consolation check this wiki page out about livia http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Livia
It more likely that Livia is dead now or has gone into seclusion. If she was still alive and a member of the Shining Blade it is likely she is actually actively trying to prevent Scarlet and other threats from threatening the Queen.
Chaos always finds a way, who you think Evil learned it from?
Livia was Necromancer, all this crap made by mesmer.
Livia is one of the few likeable characters in Gw1, and THE most used Hero in the entire game!
I would be very disappointed if they made her evil. I’d rather she be introduced as a sidekick like she was in GW1.
Livia as a good lich? Could happen

That very book is however written by one of ArenaNets lore-creators, so one can assume that she knows what she is talking about…

Scarlet = Ellen Kiel = Livia…..'s daughter!
Scarlet = Ellen Kiel = Livia…..'s daughter!
+1!!!!!
This would be really awesome!
Scarlet = Ellen Kiel = Livia…..'s daughter!
For that to be true, then the father should be something like a rock so Kiel can say she inherited her personality from her father… she is sooooooo far from Livia (or most characters for that matter) that a rock or something similar should be the father to compensate.
Scarlet = Ellen Kiel = Livia.
Why Kiel can’t be from the future or being Livia in disguise.

Second problem: The Shining Blade is the crown’s guard. They don’t care much for who the crown rests upon, so long that individual is of royal blood.
Thing is, Jennah is the last descendent. And Livia’s no longer the leader of the Shining Blade (openly at least) – Anise, Jennah’s childhoodfriend, is.
Scarlet = Ellen Kiel = Livia…..'s daughter!
I can see Ellen being Livia’s daughter, though IMO unlikely.
However, I cannot abide the theory that Scarlet=Ellen because that “suspicious stranger” in the opening ceremony is most likely to be Scarlet.
The question is, imo, “is scarlet the personal nemesis, or just an agent?” (My hope is the latter cuz atm, that voice I believe is new and holds no ties to the PC, which makes her not so personal).

It’s why Scarlet aka Kiel can appear to be a sylvari.

Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
I think this old pirate is the first son of Trahearne

Livia would never plot to kill her queen or put the Kingdom into chaos. Read third book, then make assumptions.
Also, no self respecting necromancer would study the powers of a mesmer. Just saying.

I suppose Liadri is far from a self respecting woman indeed
But if we are to believe Angel, we can all do pretty much whatever magic we want.
I’m inclined to believe that Scarlet is not our main villain yet. I’m also still confused at her motives and behaviour, especially considering Scarlet is a Sylvari.
One thing she is most certainly not, and that is Livia.

Liadri is not real human. It’s watchknight. (well maybe real Liadri exist or existed somewhere, but not in pavilion)

Have you even played Guild Wars 1? Primary profession, secondary profession…? Basically everyone could do everything back then, no reason to assume anyone other than us poor limited playable characters can’t still do the same.

Oh of course. But from an ideological point of view, no self respecting necromancer would study the ways of the mesmer. It is simply insulting to Grenth. Lyssa is Grenth’s polar opposite in many ways.

Point still stands, even more so.
