That is a watch made by Avalon, there are other companies that make similar pocket watches. The ones I’ve seen are not cheap.

Scarlet is supposedly the leader of the aetherblades, its also alluded that she is the leader of another far-reaching organization that made the alliance between the inquest and aetherblades, and the dredge and flame legion, thus pretty much causing all the trouble in almost all the living world story updates effectively making them all connected and not irrelevant like everyone initially thought =/ Speculation though.
Scarlet is mentioned by Mai Trin at the end of the aetherblade dungeon a few living world story updates back. She says something like “I cant believe I failed ‘scarlet is gunna have my noggin for this’”, hence why people think Scarlet is the leader. It is also believed that the “mysterious figure” in The Queens Opening Ceremony for the Jubilee is scarlet, and that she is a sylvari.

also I don’t think she is going to be transforming all of Kryta to smoke and sand, but instead she was saying that all that we know is build on smoke and sand, basically saying that we don’t know anything because we’ve all been lied to, and scarlet is gonna let the cat out of the bag and tell us some world shattering truth.

It’s a concept art from GW1 for the chronomancer which would have been part of Guild Wars Utopia.

The big plot twist is that this is going to all turn out to be a game created to amuse bored people. All of Tyria and it’s inhabitants are just bits of digital data stored on a machine, controlled by a stranger behind a monitor. When they realize this, it will change the way they think and feel about their lives.

Im really really impressed by this, the clock is amazing.

It brings contents to an higher level imo.

OK, if that’s what they called the head of the Chronomancers my inner geek would explode all over the internet. In a good way of course.

She’s talking about the mists. Parallel worlds and time travel. It’s been in the game from day 1, if you looked.
“Our” Tyria is part of a multiverse of parallel worlds in the mists – this is what the Mist War in WvW is all about.
The Fractals are unstable parallel pocket dimensions echoing specific moments of the past.
Steam Creatures come from the future, and now are working with the Aetherblades.
What if our Tyria is just a slightly more stable fractal of Scarlet’s world’s past?

Wouldn’t that make all Sylvari Time Lords? Which means Trahearne is also.

Could be a title as opposed to a race if the major surprise were to be the release of the Chronomancer… which would be an amazingly well kept secret. Imagine if they actually snuck a new profession in, after saying a new profession would be the least likely thing we’d see in the near future? It’s unlikely I think, but the wow factor would be off the charts.

True but there are numerous site where you can get things engraved for a small fee so that is up to the person then to get that done.

I like the elemental theme in the poem, with time being the fifth, overarching element.

fog : air
sand : earth
flames : fire

The reference to permanent ink would indicate that it would otherwise get washed away, which is a vague reference to water.

It’s probably not important, but I appreciated it.

She’s going to go up to Tyria’s moon and carve her name into it (from the giant laser/airship that is the falcon/“Colosseum”).

Maybe we are getting a timed dungeon bomb in depths/crypts of divinities reach. Most updates are temporary dungeons. You combine flames and a clock you have a time bomb and game is to find it before it explodes. It would be funny if they made this a one time event and the servers that didn’t disarm it would loose divinities reach.

It would be funny if the aeither blade pirates are a group keeping a dragon at bay and by defeating them we then have to face a new dragon. Sylvari view it as there mission to fight the elder dragons. Scarlet might not be deviating from this give all races common enemy so that the band to gather and fight it (like code gleas).

I think they confirmed there will be no one time events in the next update. Although I think it’s an interesting idea. Honestly there a ton of things that could happen only time will tell what will happen. Still I highly doubt it going to be an attack on Divinity’s Reach as the city is on high alert while the festivities are going on due to the events that occurred at the opening. Plus Kryta doesn’t necessary have to mean Divinity’s Reach since Lion’s Arch used to have a connection with the word Kryta. Scarlet is starting to sound a very interesting villain as her motives aren’t exactly clear. She could of easily teleported behind the queen and either assassinate or kidnap her yet she didn’t. She was toying with the queen so I don’t think Jennah is an objective of her plan. She also could of easily had the Watchknights go haywire and attack in mass, since there even a few watchknights in the city itself. Yet again she only had the one fighting Logan go haywire.

Chronomancer sounds like a possibility but summoner not so much. It’ll probably too similar to necromancers using minions.

I think that if the fog and sand has a deeper meaning it may relate to us, the people being very misguided or misinformed by something or someone. Same with the fog, it’s to cloud our vision over the truth and once blown away.. reveals that which we have always seen but didn’t link to whatever the truth may be. Hm, when I saw words “Your world is built on fog and sand”, I thought about Tyria being somewhere in The Mists and Scarlet pointing it out, so it’s a hint to other worlds, or parallel universe, or time travel, whatever The Mists are capable of. And it suits well with the common “time” theme.

My guess: “Mark the date in permanent ink” hints that this will be a repeating festival.

I say time bomb scavenger hunt is coming either way. I think the way she was blinking around had to be mez. Which would also explain how she controlled the clockworks.

Or it could mean that future living stories or events around this time will involve whatever happens on this date.

Reading this, I think Scarlet is going to turn all of Tyria into 16-bit. An entire world of Super Adventure Box

Oh and if a chronomancer profession is added, I may just explode.

Just me, but I think that Divinity’s Reach strongly resembles a clock, perhaps at least part of the idea behind sending out a pocket watch. Although I’m not discounting that there’s some timey-wimey involved with the Aetherblades in general.

I think I remember reading something in the lore in regards to Divinity’s Reach that the city itself and Queensdale in general was built on marshland, which has been known to be foggy and sandy. This really made me think about the old adage that says something about not building houses or castles on the sand, as they will almost always be washed away with time.

If I were Scarlet and I really wanted to throw Divinity’s Reach and Kryta into total chaos, I’d do something to the dams. Perhaps blow them up? I don’t know.

Has anybody thought of this. Fog and sand could refer to uncovering something such as a new place on the map. The theme is based on a clock. Maybe they are going to unveil the Watchtower Coast again on the map. In the lore of Guild wars it mentions this coast was lined with Watchtowers but was unkown who built them or why. It would definitely look different 250 years later

Scarlet mentions games. This could be where they would be.

Also some people think Queen Jennah might be kidnapped. A watchtower would certainly be a perfect place to hide her.

The fact that “Kryta Flames” is mention reminds me that maybe a weapon could be used on Divinity’s Reach similar to what created the Searing. This would result in the landscape of Divinity’s Reach possibly being changed.
