Overflow Rising
ANet doesn’t care about how destructive overflows are.
I very well remember an interview from 2009 or 2010 and even back then they clearly laid out the overflow mechanic they wanted to implement, the exact same we got today.
They’ve done literally nothing in 3-4 years to improve it.
Give it a week and being put in the overflow won’t be your problem. Finding enough organized players that will bother trying for the tiny rewards if they fail will more than likely remove all the overflows.
Three things that you can do with overflow.
1) As soon as the event ends join the map and play on the map until the event starts.
2.) Join a party with someone that is in the overflow and join in.
3.) Wait until the patch week players leave. (Basically wait the non-large groups stop doing Tequatl. Wait until only the large organized groups do Tequatl)

We all figured as much, but you don’t see this as badly implemented content then? The encounter in itself is fine, yet the environment in which it has been placed not so much.

I never said the content needed a nerf. I never said it did not.(Right now I am leaning on it requires too many non-randoms to do it. Perhaps instead of requiring 80 organized only require 40-60. That is if Tequatl does not scale like everything else.) I am withholding all judgement on it for a while. I am on the camp of let the playerbase learn the mechanics.
I also think that this was designed for those that wanted raids but due to not everyone can make it into a raiding guild or know when raids are happening they made it open world so that randoms can benefit from the raiders.
As long as ArenaNet does not go out and make all the world bosses or even all the dragons this hard I am find with 1 or two of this difficulty.

1) Yeah, I am doing that. But it may take hours to get in. Less during off-peak hours, but so far nobody is killing Teq outside of busy hours.
2) Usually you get spammed with “Server is full” message. I am in a large guild so often someone is there, but its hard to get in when the system wont let you anyway.
3) I am concerned about this. First of all, if Teq is an “elite” content, why there is a daily quest asking to fight him? It’s an easy daily, go to Teq, die at his feet and go AFK, come back in 10 minutes, daily task completed. And people are doing this and will keep doing this for another two weeks only increasing traffic with their presence which is useless to kill progression. And if ANet wont buff rewards for this, I am affraid in few weeks many “elite” players will abandon this event to go farm champs, CoF or whatever else will have better g/hour ratio with guaranteed chance of success.
There is an even bigger monster that overflow. Try getting kicked from the game and the cannot log back in – about 21/2 hours for me. You got into an overflow, you are lucky that you even got to play.
How about just ending this event now. They were not prepared for this and ultimately made it unfair.
Maybe just make GW3 Tequatl? Or Tequatl only servers for about 2400 gems. At least I will be able to play the other content.

1) in time this will not be a problem.
2) in time this will not be a problem.
3) Yes I am concerned with this. But honestly not too much. Most servers have a website or teamspeak with a community around them. Ask around in Lions arch. Those communities do things like run events. My Server does a Temple run every Saturday. Servers can schedule runs to beat the boss. Then so what if he fails most of the time.
That said though I do think that the rewards need to be buffed. But I think that we need to wait on that too. Make sure that we are just not having issues adjusting to the new content.
You also got the problem of, can’t group and get guildys in, due to ‘Full Map’.
So it’s not just that 1 person needs to do nothing for hours but wait on that map, but ALL guildys have to wait for hours.
Makes the AFK turret trolls extra insulting.

I’m guessing the tiny chance at rewards if you succeed are going to be a bigger problem than the even tinier chance at rewards if you fail.

1) Doesn’t work. I sat in an overflow for three hours, I talked to other people who’d been there for as long as seven hours. People don’t leave, they camp the event to keep trying for successes/weapon drops.
2) The people I play with are having the same issue I am. I’m in a fairly large guild (Absolute Legends), but the times that I’ve been on haven’t seemed to synch up with them.
3) That’s probably what I’m going to have to do. Kind of stinks, but I’m not really sure of another solution outside of ANet completely rehauling the overflow system. Not going to hold my breath on that one xD

Amen to that.
