Hear hear!
I thoroughly enjoyed both the Molten Facility and the Aetherblade Refuge, so I have a good feeling about this new path.
Indeed!
I don’t mind it being removed because I never did it anyway. And something much better is replacing it! So far all the Living Story dungeons have been amazing.
Nameless Inversion/Ascension/Evasion/Ruination/Impression/Perdition/Compassion/Tactician
Guild Wars 2 will be an amazing game when it’s finished. Compare Prophecies to EotN!
Watch this new path use a lot of the old mechanics. Probably why it was removed, lol.
No need to remove it — if you don’t like it don’t play it. Removing content that doesn’t conflict with new story threads is not a good move.
Honestly I think the decision was more of an engineering effort — easier to use the existing NPC choices and map terrain rather than craft up a whole new fourth path to the geography and dialogs.
So in short, budget and man-power ruled the day.
The complaints are overblown, the majority of the fanbase doesn’t mind the change at all.

It is time for the QQer’s to admit they weren’t doing F/U anyway.

I bet if Anet removed Belcher’s Bluff games or even Moa Races, we’d still have a hoard of bandwagon complaints. Despite the fact that no one does those at all anymore.

I actually did the F/U path 2 or 3 days ago.
Was it fun? Yes
Does it need bug fixes and maybe some small revamps to make it more fun? Yes
Was it perfect? No
Does it need to be deleted? No
Point is, Anet would rather be lazy and delete content that needs fixing rather than actually work and fix it.
Well that’s nice.
Was it being run or enjoyed by a respectable part of the community? No
Did Anet research this? Yes
Is that believable? Absolutely
Should they have deleted it? Meh
It’s their choice, the quicker you accept it, the more you’ll enjoy the new path.

This.
I have no doubt that for every person that complains about the removal of F/U, there are a dozen glad it’s gone and there are a hundred more that have never run F/U or care at all.
Never played F/U, always hoped for a fix.
Played F/U, hoped for a fix. That path was hopelessly bugged, that’s for certain.
This is better than a fix.
Avoiding the problem is never better than fixing it. Especially if you do that because you don’t want to admit you were the one that introduced it in the first place (the path was okay before it got “rebalanced”). I’d rather see Anet devs get into habit of fixing their own mistakes, instead of consistently sweeping them under the carpet.
Remember, remember, 15th of November
I did my last TAFU run last night. Most people dislike the path because of the final boss. The rest of the path is actually one of the best designed paths in the game. Vevina is a pretty well designed challenging boss and Im pretty dissapointed that she is going.
I’m not big on running dungeons but I see no point at all to remove content that some people apparently enjoyed, even if its only a few people. I’d hope they can reconsider and re-add it, even if unchanged.
Our guild just did F/U path in TA nights ago. It was the last path one of us needed for the achievement. We went in with 3 guardians, 1 mesmer and 1 ranger. We chained all the reflection we could. Took the boss out super-fast, and the black widows almost never touched us. The hardest part of the run was getting everyone through the invisi-goop.
Won’t miss the path either, and am thankful for new content, but that path wasn’t nearly as hard as some made it out to be. Certainly a challenge, and it definitely required specific tactics, but it was not impossible.

It wasn’t being run or enjoyed because of the bugs that were implemented (Not to mention the work:reward ratio).
A quick fix by just deleting a mistake to avoid having to actually fix it is not professional on any level.
Waiting till they delete crafting since no one enjoys it.
A bit out of topic, but sinds a lot of people do not enjoy Turret Engineer, including myself, because of the many bugs that came over the year should I fear to see my whole ability bar beeing deleted in a near future?

Not the point at all.
There is no need to remove content from the game just because 80% dislike it. The other 20% not get a say?
Waiting for them to remove open world zerg events.
Waiting till they delete crafting since no one enjoys it.
No one would complain if it meant replacing it with something better.
