Charr tail problem with armours
No official word on any sort of concerted effort to fix the issue. Players have posted about it numerous times here on the forums and even staged in-game rallies about it and they’ve never gotten a response.
Every once in a while one specific armor set or another gets fixed up, but then they proceed to introduce another set that is just as bad, so its probably not too high on their priorities.
There’s a thread that lists all of the sets that have no or minimal clipping on Charr. Pretty helpful if you’re looking for sets that don’t have the problem.

This is a well known issue and very Little have been made about it (they have been working on it but I have not seen any more progress in quite some time now – wich is sad)…
I reccomend that u post in BUG-report forum for character art etc, with screenshot of the clipping and tell the problem.
It’s an appalling issue that’s been in the game since launch. Anet have given no word on fixing it, and it puts a lot of players off playing Charr. Frankly, I’m pretty sure Anet don’t care in the slightest about this issue because not enough of us play Charr. As well as the number of standard armour skins with massive issues, they continue to churn out gem store armour that, on Charr, is just a stretched and reworked version of human armour. It looks awful, and yet Charr players are expected to pay full price for it, despite getting a substandard item.
Oh, and it’s not just the tail thing. Your horns and ears get cut off with most helms, and shoulders are huge floating monstrosities.
…and that is the only reason I’ve yet to buy any armour from the gem store. There are a couple skins I would have bought were it not for clipping and floating shoulders.
There was a panel about 5 months ago (can’t find the link, maybe someone else knows which panel it was?) where someone asked and the dev response was basically “Most people play humans, so it’s not worth our time”.
There hasn’t been a single mention of the issue since.
It’s far from a high priority fix, and I doubt we’ll ever see all, let alone the majority of armors ever not tailclip. Many would argue it’s not even an issue at all.
That being said, they have remade armors since release. Look at old pictures of SE heavy dredge armor on Charr. It looks a little different today – now with tail flap. There’s a couple other examples, but they elude me at the moment.
I don’t know why the ones that were retouched on were changed, but they all seem to have tail flaps, or at least are better about tail clipping.
For the toast!

Can you link that? I don’t believe it but it’s pretty frustrating if it’s true.

Also, can someone tell me which armors they went back and fixed cause I just checked the PvP locker yesterday and it only looked like SE changed. I have a feeling shoulder armor will never get fixed if they can’t even fix the bigger issue with tail clipping.

Which is why the community needs to send a unified response via wallet voting that if fixing the cosmetics it not worth Dev time then the game is not worth community moneys.
Decided to throw an update out there after I saw this posted on reddit.
It seems that they did some work on the Sorrow’s Embrace armor to make the tail work better. It still clips the underskirt a bit but the leggings now have a “tail armor” that covers the top of the offending area. It’s hard to get a good screenshot since it moves with the tail wagging. :P
Now if they can get this working with capes, I’d be a happy boy.
