Would You Fight To Reclaim Ascalon?
Lion’s Arch since its re-establishment has always valued its independence. With the Captain’s Council as it’s current governing body all have been stable. This independence is an illusion in all ways that matters and at best temporary – especially since its also a major Tyrian city.
As Tyria main seaport it is also an obvious prime naval military target. The Pact Treaty will only recognise the official governing body in each territory. In Kryta that authority rest with the Crown. That crown is currently worn by Queen Jennah the human patron of the Pact.
All five major races would in equal share be the patrons of the Pact. The Pact was formed to face threats to Tyria that no single race or Order can face on its own. Thus ultimately the Pact would not recognise the authority of the Captain’s Council over Lions’ Arch as a permanent governing body.
And to relate this to the main topic: Krytan with a stable and unified economy would give humanity through Queen Jennah the ability to transfer more resources to stablise the Ebonhawke region of Ascalon.
(edited by Nicholas S Lin.6187)
Uhh yes they would O_o.
There is absolutely no reason for the pact not to recognise the authority of the Captain’s Council. In fact it’s beneficial for them to do so. The Pact is a multi-racial organisation and Lions Arch is the only multi-racial city in Tyria – it’s beneficial for them to keep it that way because it means no single race can lay claim to it’s portage and it means that Lions Arch remains a prime trading throughput for ALL the major cities.
Jennah’s authority extends only to the lands held by her kingdom. Lions Arch no longer falls under Krytan jurisdiction.
Not to mention Lions Arch is a formidable financial power. Lions Arch is the physical representation of the unity required to defeat the dragons – that’s exactly why the Pact WOULD recognise the council’s authority.
The Pact is also the ultimate expression of order and stability in all of Tyria. The Captain’s Council and its activities will be seen as illegal and an unstable element within the Krytan region. The financial power it had will mostly vanish into nothing since all its assets will be seen as ‘spoils of crime’ and thus be distributed in equal parts to all the five major races.
All that will remain of its financial power will be from its function as the main port of both Kryta and Tyria as a whole. The authority of the Krytan crown legally expends to include Lion’s Arch. The occupation of Lion’s Arch by the Captain’s Council actual has no basis in Law. Who gave the Council its authority? It took it.
It took it because at that time Kryta and its economy was destroyed by the Cataclysm that took Orr. A disaster is not a legal basis for taking ownership of crown land.

Except that Lion’s Arch is in fact the central trading hub of all of Tyria, all races minor and major do business there. Any one race or outside nation seizing control of LA would earn themselves a lot of enemies. And in regards to trade and foreign relations it’d be shooting themselves in the foot.
Then there’s also the Liongaurd forts scattered throughout Kryta not to mention the numerous Pirate groups the Lionguard was keeping in check. Kryta had bandit problems before but if the Liongaurd were no longer keeping roads clear or worse started actively aiding the bandits/pirates Kryta would be torn apart from the inside. With insurgents everywhere and no frontlines for the seraph it wouldn’t go well for anywhere outside of Divinity’s Reach.
And all that’s even assuming the Seraph would even have the strength to consider marching on LA after their war with the centaurs.
Really, while Kryta might have historical claim to LA in the current state of affairs it would both be far to much trouble and just generally monumentally stupid for Kryta to try and claim LA.
And there in lie humanity’s problem even in Kryta where it has the strongest and only significant hold on Tyria the forces of Order and Stability cannot prevail in all the land. The center of trade is held by a massive forces of a pirate council.
What more can be said about Anet’s bias against humanity? I mean really. Just as a Matter of interest. The Lionguard were the military arm of the Krytan crown – they had the same role as the Seraphs in GW (1) so……
(edited by Nicholas S Lin.6187)
It isn’t a bias against humanity. Seriously Nicholas give it a rest.
None of the other races are a bastion of trade – so neither should Divinity’s Reach be.
Please go read the novel Sea of Sorrows, I feel like it may enlighten you a little more.
The Lionguard’s role had been replaced by the White Mantle in GW1, so they hadn’t been the protectors of Kryta in a LONG time – yes they watched over the city, but they weren’t it’s primary caretakers.
The Shining Blade defeated the White Mantle and they took over the role that the White Mantle had – and the Liongaurd had before them. It makes sense. Just seriously, go read Sea of Sorrows – Lions Arch (as it is in GW2) was FOUNDED by a human.
What you consistently percieve as a bias against humans is NOT that at all. They have put all of the races on an even playing field. They all have their own strengths and weaknesses. I’ve seen you argue that Kryta doesn’t hold power over a lot of land anymore – but look at the Asura who only have Metrica Province, or the Sylvari who only have Caledon Forest. There is no bias against humanity, there is simply not a FOCUS on them. But there isn’t a focus on any singular race because there can’t be in order for the game to be as inclusive as possible.
You are the one with a human bias.
You again show that you have ignored the evidence clearly present. As you should know and novel published under license is NOT cannon. Only the games and material directly published by NC Soft is. I’m sure they have complete editorial liberty to alter/modify and otherwise change the Lore of Tyria for any reason that they so wish.
The Shining Blade never served the function of the Lionguard. They do not have the resources nor the numbers to do so. Further more it is not it their charter to do so. They are a security force, chartered with the protection of the governing dynasty of Kryta. It was the Lionguard that was charged with the protection of Kryta starting from Lion’s Arch as their headquarters.
The White Mantle were mere opportunist that took advantage of an unstable situation within Kryta as many know due to the threat of the advancing Charr army.
The extent of the sphere of influence and control may or may not have is at the mercy not of Lore but of the “pen” of Arenanet. It is humanity that hold Kryta not any other race. It is the fact that the main reason for the ongoing Centaur raids and threat and rogue bands that attack travelling traders is a direct result of the writers making Lion’s Arch an independent city.
If Lion’s Arch was fully under crown control the centaur threat would be extinguished within a few months with mop-up operations dragging the process to 18 months and beyond. After which, attacks on travellers would be drastically reduce since these bands now have few patron(s) sponsoring their raids from Lion’s Arch as they obviously are happening now, with virtually complete freedom of movement. Having Lion"s Arch under the control of the crown of Kryta does not preclude or hinder racial equality and balance within Tyria.
I have a human bias? Show proof that I have ever suggested that humanity gain land or advantage that was not rightfully theirs before Lore being implemented due to the direction Arenanet requires, at any given time.
The novel (like the two before it) was directly published by Arenanet and written by Ree Soesbee – the GW2 lore continuity writer. It is canon -_-
Please have a clue about what you’re talking about.
Lions Arch was completely destroyed in the tidal wave from Zhaitan’s rising. Cobiah Mariner restored it to a city and created the Council.
Kryta has never been able to push back the centaur threat. If they can’t do it from Divinity’s Reach then what on earth makes you think they could have done it from Lions Arch. That makes no sense, they wouldn’t have any resources they don’t already have now.
You realise that the “pen” of Arenanet IS THE LORE. There is no lore outside of what they write. To suggest otherwise is nonsensical.
The white mantle were not mere opportunists. They were a very well organised group who were under the control of the Mursaat and were using Krytans as sacrificial fodder on the bloodstones.
The Centaur raids are NOT a result of Lions Arch being independent. How did you come to that conclusion? The Centaur have hated humans for a LONG time and have been warring with them for a long time. It has nothing to do with Lions Arch.

Yes. I would fight to reclaim Ascalon, the home of my ancestors.
“Remember The Searing. We never forget, and never forgive.” – Family Motto
Queen Jennah probably has a really significant “pull” in Lions Arch, as it is still within Kryta and the two governments appear to be quite close allies, helping each other where they can. But LA is more of an independent city-state for the time being since it’s re-establishment but I have a feeling that’s going to change in the coming months. In the living story, Kiel is the only member of the captain’s council taking Scarlet’s threats seriously, and rallying the defenses and handling the logistic’s to the best of her ability but in the last story-instance it was said that the Captain’s Council is going to remain idle in the issue.
The government and structure of Lions Arch and it’s immediate surroundings are probably going to change, or shift away from the Captain’s Council as it’s central authority. That’s going to be my theory, Kiel will probably attain primary governing power and it’s possible that it could be re-integrated with the rest of Kryta on some level as it connects directly to it but Queen Jennah would likely still only hold a significant pull there and little more. I agree, though that if it were to be returned as a territory of the Crown and thus be under the Queen’s jurisdiction then I see really no reason what so ever as to why that would hinder or derail racial equality, or why it wouldn’t remain a multi-cultural hub. The Queen is famously known to be egalitarian, she believes in the equal rights and pursuit of prosperity for all inhabitants under her rule regardless of their race or class/caste/whatever. Divinity’s Reach is already becoming a melting pot as you can see Norn, Asura, Sylvari, and even Charr wandering around openly and freely and even titled as a citizen/civilian. This is largely why she is seen as a very popular leader even outside of her accomplishments.
When it comes to Ascalon, again they (ArenaNet) are saying she is in fact the Regent of Ascalon post-treaty. If you go back to Ebonhawke, Commander Samuelsson no longer mentions anything about being descended from a royal ascalonian line and instead has been placed in the farms talking about getting old and wanting to retire to a quiet life. He does not even seem to be married, or have any children as he never mentions anything about his wishes for the actual future of Ascalon. Some of the NPC’s are talking about increased support, and trust in the Queen by the people of Ebonhawke and going through those zones there are both human and charr settlements being built and a joint effort to rid Ascalon of the ghosts. The goal appears very much to be that the Charr & Humans share the region in a mutually beneficial agreement to both cultures/societies, instead of fighting over them. Many of the Charr are remorseful for what happened even if the accomplishment itself is a proud one from a pure “accomplishment” point of view for their race. I foresee Ascalon being a region of two separate nations. The Charr, and the Humans as it is rather large and we could potentially go into the deeper regions of the Charr homeland and eventually reclaim that for our allied Charr.

If Divinity’s Reach and Lion’s Arch were both governed on behalf of the crown of Kryta officially as well as in practice I believe that more resources can be directed to exterminating the Centaurs as a regional economic problem. No traders/farmers/citizens want those pests(Centaurs) endangering their property nor their business activities in Kryta.
And lets be clear I do believe that the Seraph and the Lionguard are duplicate military organisations of Kryta. They should be merged into one organisation – since in both their charters they are meant to serve the interests of the governing dynasty of Kryta.
And lets be clear I do believe that the Seraph and the Lionguard are duplicate military organisations of Kryta. They should be merged into one organisation – since in both their charters they are meant to serve the interests of the governing dynasty of Kryta.
I think you might be 250 years too late. Lionsguard serve LA and consist of all the playable races. The head of the Lionsguard is a norn who is one of the members of the Captians council. I doubt their charter is to serve Kryta any more. Not since they established themselves in LA.
Not at all. I’m not saying that the Lionguard and the Seraph should merge in the present. No.
I’m saying that the Seraph should never have been established in the 1st place.
The Lionguard should have been the military instrument that Salma used to re-unite Kryta and keeping the peace. With the Shining Blade involving as it has to its current charter – as the as the royal security guards and involving covert operations to protect the interest of the crown and the acquisition of sensitive information that is of interest to the state (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Shining_Blade).
The elephant in the middle of the room is the question that I’ll like answered. If Kryta had the resources to establish, build a grand metropolis that became Divinity’s Reach it would have need a massive vertically intergrated supply chain that would stretch to all corners of Kryta and many points beyond. This would require the facilities of a major seaport. In this case in Kryta that would logically have meant the replacement/rebuilding of a new Lion’s Arch for this titanic endeavour. Seeing as the crown would have needed a full service logistics and supply operations base to collect warehouse and the transfer of massive amounts of raw material and building supplies purchased from all over Kryta and the rest of Tyria .
This being the case, the crown would have need a garrison to ensure security of this operations base/seaport that would grow to become a new Lion’s Arch.
Divinity’s Reach in GW(1) was only a small town at best back then(http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Divinity_Coast_.
For it to become what it is now would require as I have stated, Lion’s Arch would have had to have been re-established initially to build the new capital. Thus any pirate fleet that had attempted to dock or approach Lion’s Arch seaport (guarded by the Lionguard) would have been given the choice of serving the crown or be destroyed/terminated with their ships and assets seized.

When you said “And lets be clear I do believe that the Seraph and the Lionguard are duplicate military organisations of Kryta. They should be merged into one organisation – since in both their charters they are meant to serve the interests of the governing dynasty of Kryta.” it sounded like you were working from established current lore.
however, if the pirates were already well established, kryta could have used trade with LA to achieve the same effect while LA further built itself up with gold make through trade agreements with kryta. Making both kryta and LA the powers that they are today.
edit: Seems LA officially earned it’s independence from Kryta through battle with the risen. While maintaining good relations with Kryta. So it seems they may well have built up simultaneously since Kryta wasn’t powerful enough to fight without the citizens of LA. That means they simply weren’t powerful enough to hold LA, subjugate it’s pirate citizens and also fight the risen.
(edited by Dustfinger.9510)
and now there is absolutely no point in fighting them because Lions Arch and the trade that its pirates provide are an absolutely vital part of the Tyrian economy. Of course it’s all going to kitten now so oh well.
The scenario as described by that attachment and its source material cannot have happened since under what I have put forward the re-established Lion’s Arch would have already been under full Krytan control with a full Lionguard garrison in operation and with the Krytan Navy using its seaport as a major base of operations and re-supply.
The crown would have immediately sent the Lionguard to secured the ruins of Lion’s Arch and instruct them to establish a garrison on the site of the ruins, after the events of the Orrian Cataclysm. This to ensure the law of the land is upheld and secure a safe and operational seaport to re-build the nation. This would seem I think to have been the logical turn of events. Since the main seaport of the nation would have been seem as a key strategic national asset, that cannot be allowed to be lost at any cost, thus would have been secured before any other major national project started. It would have been top priority.

Nicholas stop talking about your own personal version of the lore. We have established lore in game and since we don’t have a portal to alternate dimensions your ideas aren’t going to happen and don’t make sense in the current context of the game. You’re allowed to think that things should have happened differently, but they didn’t.
So you acknowledge that my opinion of what should have happen in both Ascalon and Kryta are essentially correct but is almost completely different from the current Lore post the events of GW(1).
The whole point of these forums is to discuss our points of view on all interesting points of Lore as it pertains to the GW/GW2 world. I don’t see your point or any point of yours in fact since you merely want to re-state and enforce the Lore as and when it is written by Arenanet.

No I don’t. I completely disagree with your opinion on how things should have happened. I simply acknowledge that you’re entitled to that opinion. The point is to discuss the lore – which means the lore that is actually there. What you discuss/propose is fanfiction since you practically try to rewrite the games history – there is a dedicated section of the forums for that.
The term “should have” implies that the current lore doesn’t make sense. But we see that it actually does. It isn’t the one Nicholas may have chosen is he was lead writer but it definitely makes sense.
There really is no point to writing our own fanfic in this forum of what we wished would have happened since no one can actually discuss anything about a lore that will only ever have the response of “No, that’s not what I wrote just now.”
Out personal fanfic doesn’t overwrite actual lore.
^— thanks. 15Charrs
The Lore has been to do whatever is necessary to weaken the humanity in Tyria where-ever and whenever a plot line could be created to take all of its main/or long held assets starting with the Ascalonian white-wash and continuing with taking Kryta’s main city and center of economic activity from yet another human Kingdom all in the name of balance. Note Divinty’s Reach to me makes no sense. Since it is a land-locked urban area – totally economically dependant on a seaport that is operating independent of it as per current continuity. This would lead in my mind to a massive population leakage to Lion’s Arch.
Societies, especially today, can be dependant on the economies of other governing bodies. That doesn’t cause a mass exodus. Either way, there is nothing to discuss because the only response you need is “That’s not what I just made up”.
Prince Rurik approves of this. Therefore I approve of this : D
Underworld
Nicholas, Divinity’s Reach is not landlocked. It’s eastern and western borders are surrounded by dams because Divinity’s Reach sits on a bit of high ground on the border of what was once the Giant’s Basin – which, if you look at the map, empties out into the ocean…
Divnity’s Reach makes perfect sense. When Zhaitan rose much of the land was flooded, there was a NEED to move to higher ground and in Kryta the northern border makes the most sense because it is the furtherest position from Orr – it is also close to the already well established Krytan towns of Beetletun and Shaemoor.
I feel this thread is going nowhere. So I will ask: why must there be a centaur presence in Kryta?
Why are they still a major fact of life in the life of Krytan humanity?
Shouldn’t it be the case that in the past 250 years the humans through numbers and advances in technology have been able to push the centaurs to near extinction in Kryta?
PS: I’m setting aside the Divinity’s Reach/Lion’s Arch discourse as there can be no satisfactory conclusion reached, in my opinion. And I will most certain not respond further to the current line of discussion.
No. Why would the Humans have been able to defeat the Centaur?
The Centaur rallied together all of their Tyrian tribes – they’re not some tiny force…
That’s exactly like saying why haven’t the Norn defeated the Dredge? Why haven’t the Sylvari defeated the Nightmare Court? Why haven’t the Asura defeated the Inquest? Or the Hylek?
Why? That should be obvious.
The humans have a much larger population base and much better technology and magic prowess. The Krytans thanks to Rurik now have all the knowledge and know-how from Ascalon through the settlers who have added their numbers to Kryta.
The number of Ascalonians would have increased steadily since as their homeland kept falling away from their grasp more would have fled and fled they did. As most know this weaken the defences of Ascalon City allowing the Charr to move in and ultimately the Foefire happened.
Leaving those cut-off to form the settlement/fort that would become the Stronghold of Ebonhawke. This brings me to my second point. Many of the Ascalonian settlers would have served in the Ascalonian Army or maybe even in the Ebon Vanguard.
What this means is that the humans of Kryta in my estimation should have on their side all the advantages in the battlefield against the Centaurs that matter. Men and Women that have known hardship and endurance in the trenches ofa seemingly un-ending war. They had faced the Charr Legions for generations – they know warfare better than any centaur war party.
The Centaurs do not have the advantages of numbers or technology to my knowledge. Thus they should have been exterminated, for reasons as stated.
And people called me racist . . .
The centaurs have the advantage of numbers over humans who can and are willing to fight for Kryta. The almost always outnumber the Seraph.
The centaurs do not have the advantage of technology, but they have the advantage of quickly-constructed siege weapons such as catapults and trebuchets which can still be devastating if kept defended.
The centaurs have the advantage of using magic at least as powerful as the average human, though it is limited to more natural magic. The earth elementals they can conjure are an example, as well as the air whirlwinds. Push comes to shove, they can indeed nullify a numeric advantage when on the defensive.
Why have the centaurs not been eradicated? Because humanity lacks the force to make that push. (And because the writers would never write a plot where humanity enacts genocide on an indigenous people, while they are based in Seattle, WA, in the US.)
You don;t know that the humans have a larger population base…. That is not a verifiable fact.
Also the Centaur are trained for war, they live for war – and they do actually have access to a LOT of magic. Hence the pretty badkitten boss Ulgoth.
The Ascalonians who fled to Kryta generally weren’t the soldiers and their numbers weren’t all too impressive – hence the Ascalonian settlement led by Captain Greywind.
The Centaur brought together ALL of their tribes. That means that it is not just the Tamini, but the Modnirr from the Shiverpeaks and the Harathi from the Maguuma. In GW1 all of these tribes were a force to be reckoned with ON THEIR OWN. Now they’re united.
The Centaurs certainly DO have the technology as well – they’re highly proficient in siege weaponry and engineering. Hence all of their rather large forts and catapults.
I think there are a lot of variables here. The Ascalonians settlers would not all have chosen to re-settle in the Ascalon Settlement. I would say theres a strong chance they spread between Divinity’s Reach and all over Kryta as well, with some even going back to Ascalon to re-settle again in Ebonhawke once the Asura gate was built between the two cities.
So the numbers of Ascalonians that boost the Krytan population is unverifiable as well. Then there is that fact that humans in both Kingdoms have been breed to be part of their respective war machines. They have lived through the Guild Wars for generations and then both had to deal with the Charr invasions.
And as a result of the events of GW:EotN they have had “some” contact with the Asura and the Norn. How much this means is of course uncertain. All of which suggests to me that humanity should still very much have the advantage over their four-legged rivals.
Not so.
Ascalon was a dying nation after the events of the Searing, their population greatly reduced. Kryta wasn’t really thriving either – what with the undead hordes at their doorstep and then the losses from the War in Kryta. Not to mention that you have to remove the white mantle from their population since they became enemies.
The human population, whilst unverifiable, shouldn’t have been that high. Yes humanity breeds soldiers – but it isn’t a case of every man must fight. They still have a LOT of people who don’t fight. I would actually hazard a guess that their army is smaller than their non-fighting population – that is almost always the case with wars. The Centaurs are literally bred for war. They all fight – including the women. So since their army consists of the greater portion of their population it should outnumber Krytas army.
I don’t imagine the Norn would have jumped into the war – they are about individual achievement and overcoming ones own enemies -rather than someone elses enemies. The Centaur present no threat to the Norn. As for Asura, I’m not sure they’d be willing to help humanity either – they have never thought that highly of humans and certainly consider themselves the superior species. What’s it to them if humanity is wiped out by a bunch of dumb centaurs?
Then I guess we’ll have to see what Queen Jennah does with the Watchknight technology. That tech and its likely applications of that technology in both commercial and military products and processes could prove to be a major breakthrough in human industrialisation leading to expansion in both Kryta(against rogues and centaurs) and the Ebonhawke territory (ie controlling the Dragonbrand beasts).
They were constructed partially using technology from the Steam Creatures though – which might prove problematic.
With Pact assistance and more rigorous testing and trials I think any concerns can be resolved and eliminated. Ensuring that the Watchknights V.2 and the application of this technology in other military weapons like say a mobile artillery( an advancement of the humble cannon) implacement would be a success. There also also obvious commercial and industrial applications to watchknight technology.
Its all in the R&D and the testing/trials that follows that will ultimately decide success or failure – barring human/charr/asuran/sylvari/norn (and can i say quaggan… foo) error…..
Oh absolutely.
But I think you have to question whether or not the Pact are going to lend a hand. They’re pretty focused on their dragon-bashing.
Obviously if the races were to truly band together in a real life scenario they would have been able to beat back their lesser foes by now (e.g. the Centaur’s, Dredge, Flame Legion etc.) but it’s a game so it’s not going to happen xD.
ABSOLUTELY!!! Without a doubt I would happily serve my nation to reclaim ascalon!!!
Oh absolutely.
But I think you have to question whether or not the Pact are going to lend a hand. They’re pretty focused on their dragon-bashing.
They should next be focused on seizing Aetherblade ships to bolster their fleet. After all, what’s a little piracy between friends?
The Pact has airships of its own. Upgrading them with Watchknight technology will enhance their performance, if anything. Its rather curious that pirates would have access to such advance cutting edge technology without a truly wealthy patron while the Pact who has the patronage of all five major races of Tyria struggles to field at least as many.
It is to me shocking that the Order of Whispers could not have for-warned their Pact allies of an impending assault of such a important and strategic asset such as Lion’s Arch.
And for the Pact to not react in kind with fire of their in the form of their own airships and anti-aircraft artillery – enhanced with Watchknight technology. Why is it that the Pact seems so ineffective that it cannot sufficient defend against any and all major attacks? Especially major cites like Lion’s Arch in the current instance.
The Aetherblades stole the airships from the pact. How they managed that I don’t have a clue.
Also the Aetherblades are 50% pirates 50% Inquest. The Inquest are known for their pushes in technology (often through the theft of someone elses) – so it isn’t surprising that they have such advanced technology.
The Watchknight technology doesn’t help with an airship at all – two completely different things, you can’t just add them together.
I imagine that the pact couldn’t act because if they did so it would be seen as undermining the authority of the Captains Council of Lions Arch – who are apparently all imbeciles and didn’t believe us when we told them they were going to be attacked. Oh well.
I mostly agree. However…..
The Pact one would think would have seen and be informed via the Order of Whispers along with our favourite npcs: Evon Gnashblade and Captain Ellen Kiel of their in-ability to convince the Captain’s Council to commit the Lionguard to a course of action.
Scarlet must be using Sith magic on the simple-mined members of the Council. As for the Pact holding due to them not overstepping their authority – that is very likely the reasoning the anet writers used to justify the turn of events.
But in reality in-action on the part of the Council would actually allow the Pact to act since that would be in the best interest of Tyria!
The Krytan economy has already suffered the shock and damage to trade and morale as a result of the result of the damage caused to Divinity’s Reach as a result of the Queen’s Jubilee attack by Scarlet. That event would have already sent shockwaves across the the length and berth of Kryta and Ebonhawke. Since Divinity’s Reach is the center of the entire human civilisation in all of Tyria.
And so any real or potential threat – especially from Scarlet and her rogue alliances would be seen by the member Pact Orders as a “Clear and Present Danger” and thus automatically authorising them to commit to any and all course of action to extinguish said threat.
The Order of Whispers seems to be rather absent at the moment. I wonder if it’s maybe intentional? I mean, both the Vigil and the Priory have played a part in the latest update, the Order hasn’t really. We have a refugee camp in the Bloodtide Coast, but it doesn’t really have a Whispers presence. So yeah, I wonder what is going on there.
The Whispers agents are mostly in LA itself, getting the trapped civilians out to safety.

Its rather curious that pirates would have access to such advance cutting edge technology without a truly wealthy patron while the Pact who has the patronage of all five major races of Tyria struggles to field at least as many.
Why trust technology that may or may not have been designed by Scarlet, we don’t know if the watchknights are actually of human designed. Even if Scarlet only was able to take control due to the similarities between them and the steam creatures, they are still a security risk. There is no guarantee that the Watchknights 2.0 would not be at risk of Scarlet hijacking their controls again.
Another thing to consider is that the Watchknights are the property of Divinity’s Reach, it is up to Queen Jennah to grant access to the technology behind the Watchknights. I do not think she will be willing to grant such technology to an interracial organization, especially given what transpired at the Queen’s Jubilee. While it was Countess Anise who made the watchknight appear like Rytlock, Queen Jennah did not show public disapproval. This gives the impression that she views humanity as superior to the other races and they are still enemies, at the moment insignificant to the threat of the Elder Dragons. The invitations of non-humans was to showcase humanity’s newest weapon, a flexing of her nation’s militaristic muscle.
Chaos always finds a way, who you think Evil learned it from?
The Whispers agents are mostly in LA itself, getting the trapped civilians out to safety.
. . . yes, and the nice part is they’re not always unstealthed.
Though there are also a few more dedicated Whispers agents at work evacuating the rougher parts of the city. Of course, there’s Vigil members assisting as well.
Ascalon is the true homeland of the Charr, it was stolen by the humans before the Guild Wars, Humans should not have any right on the lands.
Human were the original invaders, they brought the wrath of the Charr on themselves.

Nah, that was retconned.

Chaos always finds a way, who you think Evil learned it from?
Lions Arch is allied with the Centaurs, that is more then enough reason for Kryta to stop turning a blind eye to the pirates who are squatting on the grave of their old capitol and terrorizing the nearby farms and take control once Scarlet is gone.
Which is another thing worth mentioning, all of the main enemies of each race is considered a serious threat by the other nations and gets pact, vigil, priory and/or whispers help whereas LA openly allies each itself with centaurs and the only help Kryta gets is some band of mercenaries that really hate centaurs.
