The second ceiling pan, the one after the Abbadon statue, caught my eye. On the ceiling there is a geometric assemblage that parallels the spheres we saw in Omadd’s machine. The letters going from top to bottom, then left to right are:
S – K
Z – M
P? – J (The proposed P letter is partially covered by a suspension line.)

After reviewing Omadd’s Machine cinematic the colored spheres appear to match the letters i.e. S = Sea dragon, K = Kralkatoric, Z = Zhaitan, etc.

I’m curios who put this drawing up there. What knowledge do they have? How did they get it. We players needed an Asura machine to see it. It may never be explained but, some other person or group has/had access to that knowledge and we are now getting some of it.

In addition, it looks like a suspended dragon’s tail is there in the shot.

So the DSD’s name starts with S, if this is so (I doubt it means “sea dragon” as it is never referred to as such).

Something to note:

Within or connected to each of the six side spheres are smaller spheres.

J, K, S, and P all have 1 internal sphere.

Z and M have 3 external spheres.

What makes me curious is how this place has knowledge of the Eternal Alchemy (or the Elder Dragons’ part in it).

Also: Tail, not tale. Took me a minute to realize what you meant in the screenshot because of the shading. That looks rather boney and undead… And Zhaitan lost 3 of his tails. Could it be someone scavenged one of the tails?

Edit:

I figured out the name of the Deep Sea Dragon!

Scleritethin.

And “Sclerite” are his minions.

Get it? Because Mordremoth and Mordrem…

@ Konig – Whoops! Thanks for the grammar check.

Regarding the name Scleritethin, you may be onto something. Didn’t the sclerite weapons come out with the initial Southsun Cove release or was it the Secrets of Southsun Cove? Either way, dripping crustacean-like weapons released in conjunction with a once undersea land, ancient sea creatures…sounds like a stretch but best one I’ve heard yet.

I really hope I’m not onto something, to be honest, as that would mean very poor naming imagination on Anet’s part.

Then again, it would match the minion naming schemes of “they’re named after what they are/appear like”.

Such a thought isn’t new, though it was dropped the instant someone brought up what Sclerite is (basically, in super layman’s terms, it’s the shell of a crustacean).

Then the Inquest also got it wrong, as in the Infinity Coil Reactor, while the placements don’t line up with the vision, the colors do. And Black = Risen (aka Zhaitan). While Green = plants (including husks) aka Mordremoth.

I think that’s supposed to be the world, not the Pale Tree. While Scarlet marked the Pale Tree in the center in her drawing – look at the image in the OP. That looks like a globe to me. No landmasses on Tyria I know of, though.

I can’t see a sylvari becoming a new dragon, to be honest. And while it was said somewhere – now lost, but perhaps able to be found again – that Faolain and Caithe first encountered the Nightmare in Orr, she was not turned to the Nightmare in Orr but by Cadeyrn (“fully” at least), and nothing says it relates to Zhaitan – could be something in Orr itself that set it off. After all, the Dream of Dreams has access to Orr…

This is a really cool find, especially because it sheds some light on the vision from Omadd’s machine. There was some confusion about the order they came “to life” and which orb represented which dragon. This seems to imply that the green orb did, in fact, represent Zhaitan. This is also the orb that crashes into the center, and causes the big green spread. Perhaps this is implying that killing Zhaitan had more serious impacts than we initially thought, and was itself a “point of no return”.

Faolain may have not been fully corrupted in Orr(as Koing stated her corruption was completed by Cadeyrn) she did meet the Nightmare there so the likelyhood of his consciousness entering the Dream of Dreams on death is another possibility I’ve just realized.

If Zhaitan is inside the Dream and controlling the Nightmare then we’ll most likely have a rematch with him.

The question will be: Will we kill him Deader than Dead before or after Mordremoth?….

Also the Green Orb/Zhaitan unleashed black energy with a green glow in the center.

If that black energy is infact the Nightmare than we must wonder what Mordremoth’s full corruption of Sylvari looks like(Aerin and Scarlet’s corruption wasn’t fully visible) though I do have ideas(Toxic Courtiers)…….

Faolain looked withered and and decayed. Most likely what a Sylvari looks like when fully turned into a Risen(judging from Scarlet and Aerin most Sylvari don’t get corrupted to the point where it’s visible which would explain why the Nightmare Court looks normal).

There is the story that the hylek hermit in Dry Top relates – a beast was drinking all the water so the people couldn’t survive, a warrior slew the beast, and then the water was all released at once flooding the land and killing everyone anyway. A few people have interpreted this to be a warning about magic and the dragons – without the dragons magic will rise to a dangerous level and present just as much of a threat, unless the magic is contained in some other fashion (such as tuning the Bloodstones back into ‘soak’ mode).

So if the crashing orb is Zhaitan rather than Mordremoth, it could represent Zhaitan’s death and the release of Zhaitan’s magic into Tyria.

Regarding the names… it strikes me that the dragons placed opposite one another are, well, opposites. Zhaitan is the dragon of death while Mordremoth is a dragon of uncontrolled (plant) life. Primordus is fire to Jormag’s ice. Kralkatorrik and Scleritethin (:P) are a little less clear, but given that one moved to a desert while the other dwells in the deep ocean, it could be a case of ‘wet versus dry’ or something like that.

To those who think Scarlet hate means she’s succeeded as a villain:

After the initial light-up glow (which I still say is yellow with hints of black and would argue that the yellow is mostly due to ‘how do you light up black’ – usually, it’s violet, but we have a purple orb), the “M” orb then looks like lime green. While the “Z” orb is more of a pure green.

If one calls both orbs “green” then where is black? And why doesn’t the Infinite Coil Reactor have a, say, “Zone Lime” instead?

So again, there seems to be a conundrum, regardless.

Maybe it can be looked at in a different vector. The sea dragon is diagonal from Jormag – liquid form of water opposite it’s solid form. Primodius diagonal from Kralkatorik – rock’s liquid form opposite it’s solid form (crystalline structure). Four dragons/spheres at the four corners representing two phases of matter. Also, as Konig pointed out, the circle markings are different for these four from Mordy and Zhai’s markings. Maybe because, as you said, they are opposites of existence – life versus death or different states of beings and not phases of matter.

I wouldnt take the Infinity Coil setup as the infallible configuration. Remember that the Crucible of Eternity eventually failed, due to the Inquest’s working with draconic energy. They might think that they know what they are doing, (and they most probably do know it better than anyone else on Tyria), but they can make mistakes too. The switching up of colors and themes might be intentional from their part as an experiment (that ultimately backfires as usual), or they dont exactly know the right setup.

Or there is no “right setup”. Draconic energy is chaotic magic. And whatever Eternal Alchemy-like order the chaotic forces of draconic energies adhered to before, we majorly disrupted it all by killing Zhaitan and making his released energies overflow Tyria.

As for the DSD’s name, im sure we all know it already. We are just waiting for the right moment to blurt it out without any antecedent, and not wonder in the least why everyone else on the world knows it too. (… it would still make more sense than how Mordremoth, who was supposed to be secret and hidden, was handled.)

I kinda assumed that the CoE failed because the PCs jumped in, hacked the security systems, killed the facility head and most of the staff, rigged it to self-destruct, and generally messed the place up before escaping just before it blew.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that the Inquest couldn’t have got it wrong, but it does seem as if their experiments were succeeding. Possibly not quite as well as they thought they were, but nonetheless…

And yeah, at this stage I expect we’re going to find out that everyone (at least everyone in the Pact) knows it. I suspect the names of Mordremoth and S-boy are in the Tome of the Rubicon, which was recovered during the personal story.

I’ve seen folks suspect it to be Priory-related, so if this is so, doesn’t the Priory mess things up? And for that matter, don’t they know little on the workings of the Elder Dragons?

Thats the wonder of ambiguity. We dont know if there is a correct design.

The Priory has that on their ceiling for some time i guess. The Inquest might know of it full and well. Heck, maybe Thaumanova was built around that concept, but seeing how it went they figured something must be wrong and tried a new approach with the Infinity Coil, either unaware that the Thaumanova was more a result of the intersecting ley-lines, or they ruled out that the ley-lines were at fault, disregarding Scarlet’s opinion (as they did before).

No, more that the common asura don’t like Inquest so they insult them by calling them stupid. Kind of like most people who cannot think of legitimate arguments for why beliefs they don’t like are bad.

Also, the Mists are protomatter. Hard to say the state of matter. I’d presume gas, given the appearance one sees in the Heart of the Mists.

The Inquest didn’t build Thaumanova. Most likely, at least. Thaumanova was an asura city that had a secret Inquest lab beneath it. The reactor was built with/for study of chaos magic, and the Inquest accidentally mixed in Dragon Energy. It was not built with dragon’s in mind. The Infinite Coil Reator was.

Well, that is quite an interesting thought. Such a plot could certainly bring more depth into her character. I didn’t like her during Season 1, but after they’ve added some background info (short story + the story in Season 2) – it does help to restore her to a more feasible character..
