I definitely think it’s a bug. It’s the same thing happening with Ranger’s Signet of the Wild (traited with active signets affect you too), while it does not for the elite stability. Other stabilities also do not prevent you from stomping (other professsions).
Also, you can’t either in Lich Form.
All this share one common point : using a different “form”, which prevents you from any interaction (except looting)

DS stomp isn’t very hard to do, but it requires precise timing. It is a more advanced technique that requires some practice to pull off in live combat.
Making it possible to always stomp in DS would noobify the class, and taking it away would make it impossible for necro to stomp in group fights.
It’s fine the way it is.

Well ds is inconsistent in many ways. And that is not the stomping part alone. It still behaves more like a down state than a transformation (for those who dont know, ds used to be the down state of necros). This causes alot of problems and should be changed. But it is unlikly that ds will change much in the near future, simply for the fact that necros are not in a bad spot…

Actually this is wrong. You can use for example plague, which is also a transformation, while stomping. In gerneral instant casts dont interupt stomping (or interactions in general) with the exeption of ds. But that has to do with ds behaving more like a down state than a transformation. It was probably coded that way (ds used to be the necro down state) and they never bothered to correct it.
And by the way you can lich stomp unless they fixed it. It is a similar bug like the ds stomping bug.

Oh yeah right haven’t thought of Mist Form and Elixir S indeed.
Well that’s very strange then, can’t understand the logic beneath that.
Those aren’t really transformation. They are invulnerabilities. They do not replace your weapon bar skills with 5 new ones. They do not have a long duration. They don’t allow you to switch back to your regular skills whenever you want to.

And an engineer skill too.
But, no good warrior would ever use Rampage. If you think I am pulling this out of my kitten , go to a random match and find me a warrior that has a higher rank of 30 that actually use Rampage.

So long as stomp works while in tornado and while moa’ed, I’m all for it.

Neither of which are a profession mechanic, like stealth, deathshroud etc..
If stomp gets added to those, then add it to Lich and Plague… not that i agree with adding it to elite skills, but you get my drift.

It should atleast work like plague. Lets us continue our stomp if we hit death shroud during the animation, and don’t let us start the stomp if we’re already in death shroud.
But if they do that they might a well let us start the animation while in death shroud as well. :P

After mastering the “skill” required for DS stomping it doesn’t really bother me and I think resources would be better spent fixing our other numerous and severely underpowered aspects; but I do agree that there is no logic behind this topic at all on Anet’s part other than the fact that they simply just so not care about the Necro class.
