What's the point of haste?
Runes of Balthazar and Runes of the Orrian basically trigger the Thief skill, I believe. Otherwise, it’s a mislabel and they meant either Quickness or Swiftness.
It’s one of the reasons they are rarely taken up to the rank 4, though, same with Rune of Svanir and Vampirism going to 6.
The runes that say that they grant Haste actually grant Quickness, I think.
Do correct me if I’m wrong. Can’t say I’ve used those runes.
Maybe Quickness was originally called Haste?
I know that Chilled used to be called Frozen.
Some runes might still say Freeze/Frozen. (I think that some were fixed, though)

yeah, some runes used to actually freeze your targets in a block of ice.
I thought that the haste effects increased your movement speed at least
The haste on the runes should just say quickness, they’ve just never changed it. It provides you quickness without a drawback as well, though you have to meet the trigger condition.
It’s the same deal with frozen, it’s supposed to mean chilled.
As for the ice block thing, that’s still in the game but it freezes yourself (which makes you invulnerable as well). It’s on the runes of Svanir.
Just check to make sure, procs Quickness only, nothing else, but pretty useless if you consider than it is mostly a dps buff when you have 4000 hpleft

That’s sort of the point though, you can make actions much quicker to possibly apply a lot of unexpected pressure to your opponent. Or if it’s a close fight already, that can give you an edge to win.
Quickness also makes your healing skill cast faster, so it might allow you to heal yourself just in time. That can be valuable for skills like hide in shadows which also stealth you, allowing you to escape.
But I don’t think people find that to be too reliable though, especially since the quickness can occur a bit unexpectedly.
