Hey,
I had this simple idea for a trait that could work and synergize the best with offensive Fresh Air build. It could provide extra sustain FA is lacking a bit while not giving it to more defensive, support/bruisier builds of Elementalist.
The key factor here is the bonus healing from critical strikes of Electric Discharge (Air master minor) and bonus from investing in Ferocity. The trait provides base healing for hitting the foe, but if the hit is critical the healing is increased by 50%+additional Critical Damage value provided by Ferocity.
It would ideally replace Inscription Master trait in Air specialization. As far as I know, the only use for that trait is to reduce cooldown on air glyph in PvE rotation. That way, FA would have good options in every tier.
Number values are just a vague suggestion. Tell me what you think of it. And yes, the trait name is a reference to The Mooney Suzuki song.

While I like the idea, and I really like it, I dont think the problem with FA is about lacking heals.
To honest Fa Ele has already very good ways to self heal… what does it lack is damage mitigation or more mobility
Imo, fresh air lacks damage. Also, depending on whether you choose earth or water, you either give up condition removal or damage mitigation/avoidance. If you could somehow take both and have more damage overall, it would be pretty darn good imo.
Where would you put this? Roll it into another trait or minor trait? Maybe roll it into Zephyr’s Speed or Weak Spot.

@lucadiro I think that Fire could use some traits that would improve short-term damage avoidance. Putting them there would not run Elementalist into issue where an attempt to improve offensive playstyle buffs defensive ones.
