A Very Simple Solution to Improve Warhorn
I proposed this after the first beta weekend, along with a trait that would extend the Scepter range to 1200 when wielding a Warhorn.

Yea that would solve 70% of the WH’s clunkiness. The remaining 30% would be just tweaks like condi removal, more conditions or maybe an invuln.
All of the Warhorn skills will benefit from ground targetting. Especially the pulls and Water skills so you can heal your allies even with you not facing them.

They need to do the same thing for staff well at least for the longer caster time abitly or other “line” attks.

Yea this could also work, Maan.. I wish they do some tweaks to the elite specs, not like its a raw, unfinished class.
On a related note, howler got intos nighttime animations un-nerfed, so thats a huge fashion buff for me!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen the Howler in action at night. I tried checking the TP but gosh darn there were only 4-5 legendaries available and no Howler.

Originally it had the night time effects, being that a moon would flow between the wolf head and the fringey things, and the wolf head would howl and move when you used a skill in addition to sending out a wolf head animation. But when they changed the sound effects on it over a year ago after I had first gotten it, they left it so the wolf head would continuously move and howl when you used a skin. People complained and anet removed the night effect and howling animation. Then they finally fixed it back to its original incarnation. And yeah it’s my only legendary, though I’d go for meteo or astralaria or nevermore if I had more time to grind away.
And I’ll show you in game sticker when I get a chance, though due to winter break travels I won’t be on again till like tomorrow.

Seeing how this game promotes vanity, I’d love to see the Howler at night. They got me hooked on skins. I’ll be on tomorrow eve and should be done with most of my holiday shopping. And plus SoloQing on weekends could be very harsh at times
Yeah sure thing boys, I’ll be glad to show off my horn to y’all ingame. I need to come up with new dagger, scepter, and axe skins to pair it with though, ley line skins get boring after all this time.

Make the skills ground targeted for increased accuracy.
Would be nice.
Some additional changes:
Water.
Tidal wave knockback should happen faster.
It has quite a big delay.
Air.
Cyclone should have a larger pull range than 180.
That is to small. It should have 360 or more.
Lightning orb lower cooldown.

Warhorn skills work quite nicely with action camera. Just can’t play without it anymore!
biggest problems is that it’s really “slow” in various ways:
- The combo-fields and effects spread out/“move” slowly
- The casting-times are rather long and feel weird with their aftercasts and stuff…. kinda hard to explain
- The CD’s are pretty long
- The DMG is also slow, with which I mean spread out over time rather than bursty
It just feels clunky, slow and inaccurate, which makes it unusable in PvP.
Here’s what I would change:
- Fire Field: Ground target, spreads out twice as fast, deals it’s dmg faster but doesn’t last as long. Also, the CD can be slightly reduced by like 20%.
- Water-Wave thingy (not the orb): faster cast/aftercast and moves faster.
- Air, both skills: faster cast/aftercast and moves faster.
- Earth: “Field” should spread out faster and again could be ground-targeted.
^I’d love to play Warhorn after these changes!
