A question about Conjures
It’s prolly a way of them saying “It’s a toy you can use for a while not something you base on”.
Removing either of #1 or #3 would make them a full time weapon, provided you pick up both spawns.
I’d rather they turn the conjures into equip-able items but they would be too overpowered if that happened since they are they are the “jack of all trades”
The only change I would like to see for conjures, from a PvE point of view, is the possibility of getting the other weapon on the floor and double the charges. That way i could chose to let a party member get the weapon or use it myself for 2x the charges. It would be beautiful if we could use them near permanently but I dont think they will make it this way.
For PvP theres no way to use conjures effectivelly, simply because ele rellies too much in attune swapping just to stay alive.

Maybe ANet doesn’t want the Conjures to be too similar to Engie’s kits, so they decided to put (arbitrary) mechanics in place to force Ele’s to re-equip the weapons periodically?
Personally I would love to see them do away with both the limited duration and the charges. Thoughts?

Highly unlikely to ever happen, especially when it comes to the fgs, hell even the hammer would be stupid to stick around, despite all the people here crying that it locks us out of our mechanics you can still build around conjures and be on par when it comes to pugs, wvw and pvp not so much,(if at all) unless you’re some sort of roamer that ganks afks with icebow 5 + lf opening.
That said I’d love to see restrictions lifted, being a conjure fan myself.
In PvP you need your other skills for defense, so conjures act as 1 or 2 skills on 60 second cooldowns, which makes them borderline useless. I don’t see them ever being worthwhile in PvP as long as there’s a cooldown on conjuring the weapon.
A shame, because I freaking love using a lightning hammer, and PvE interests me about as much as bashing my head against a wall.
Idea I had a while back was to let the conjure spawned in our hands be something we could swap back and forth from with the weapon swap key (the one that is spawned on the ground would still be treated as a normal bundle, so still only get 15-25 charges out of it). General idea with this was that we could use the conjure to add to our current weapon skills, instead of replacing them entirely. The stat bonuses from the conjure would also only apply while actively using it, and not while on your normal weapon skills. It could be an interesting thing to see just what kind of combo setups we could do with our normal weapon skills and conjures able to be swapped back and forth.
Certain conjured weapons are fine in PvE, i’ve seen some uses for the hammer and ofc the bow (well, the fact that people uses only 1 skill out of 5 in the bows says a lot, but still..)
Never seen the shield nor the axe though, if not for fun.
I’m more concerned with PvP though, as of now the ele is missing 4 skills in the choice of its utilities. Sometimes, and i repeat sometimes, i use hammer in skyhammer but that’s when i’m in the mood for trolling people. The current mechanic of conjured weapons is simply not working (and needs to be reworked from scratch, maybe inspired by engi kits, buffing them like the leaks we’ve heard from the next patch won’t make any difference in PvP situations).
As of now (and again, i doubt we’ll see any changes soon), ele in pvp is completely locked into the arcana traitline and in costant attunement swapping, a thing that is prevented by the conjured weapons. And with the current mechanic, it’s simply not viable to conjure a weapon, use a couple of its skills and then drop it. It would be like putting a 1 min cooldown on the bomb kit for an engi..we (nor them) can’t afford that.
The current PvP state of the elementalist is bad by itself, the fact that a good part of our skill choice is locked due to broken mechanic is salt on our open wound..
