After the Evasive Arcana nerf
Glass cannon staff works if you keep at 1200 range
Staff is still superior than D/D in dungeons to an extent. If your running with a decent group water fields + blast fields from your teammates would be good for healing.
Now if your not in a good group, I STILL would suggest staff as its a lot more forgiving than D/D.
Now, I personally run D/D in dungeons cause it’s more fun. But staff is definitely the superior choice for group support and AOE damage and crowd control.
And the EA in earth is still a blast finisher, so you can use that too.

depends on the dungeon and where you’re at in it. I run a lot of CoF and AC (probably like a lot of other people) and I use d/d, s/d and staff, switching up somewhat often. If I had to pick 1 and only 1 weapon set, then I’d use s/d for CoF and staff for AC (only because it speeds up the borrows, between frost bow of course).
Evasive arcana is still useful, it doesn’t do a lot of damage but you do get an extra blast finisher, great for might or healz and I still use it. Plus the flashbang in air can be useful sometimes too I guess?
In s/d you can easily stack 18 might immediately on your team and maintain 25 throughout a boss fight. You can have 6 blast finishers include EA and Arcane Wave, and all of which can be done inside ring of fire if you practice the chain and have enough survivability to be within melee range to pull it off. D/D allows you to stack 12 might consistently with both EA and Arcane Wave.
In staff you can get off 3 AoE healz in Healing Rain with EA, Arcane Wave and Eruption, at lvl 80 that’s around 4k AoE healing plus 20% of whatever you have spec’d into healing power, plus another 2k or so from Rain itself. Not amazing, but can save the whole group in a pinch.
So I guess my opinion is that while you’ve lost some of the damage affects from EA, you still have the blast finisher, which still plays a great support role for the team.
