Hey there everyone, I’m relatively new to the game (though I purchased it when it launched, just haven’t been playing until recently), and I have been loving Elementalist overall. I favor Air Attunement over the others, and was wondering what set-up I should run for weapons/talents if I want to primarily stay in that attunement to put out useful dps. I’d like to get into Fractals and such later on, but don’t enjoy cookie cutter strats to be doing content. I’d rather play what I enjoy and still not be a burden on my group.

Any help would be great! I’ve been defaulting a staff mostly, and feel like I’m doing pretty well, but without meters installed, I have no idea how I actually am performing.

you need to use all the elements or else your basically giving up 3/4 your abilities. your air CD’s are all way longer than a normal classes CD because of the fact you have 4 skill bars.
Take assassin or zerker gear , and tempest with air overload , swap to fire drop a crit and take fresh air trait , so you can swap back to air right away. Probably the best way to keep air up and still do some damage with overload air.

Really? i was using qtfy build which seems solid.

The plan:Use fireball and lava font because of fire attunement lava font for main dps constant dmg and use meteor if its a big target then back to lava font again.Oh yeah ocasionally use firestorm since glyph of storm.

Is that unadvisable then?

Staff has no real damage in Air, though it does offer some good breakbar options. The best main-hand weapons for an Air-focused build are Dagger and Scepter. Dagger does more damage, Scepter has more range. Off-hand, Dagger has better offense, while Focus has better utility. Dagger/Dagger feels great in Air, but you have a bunch of options to choose from.

Air has no condi damage, so you’ll want to build for Power, Precision, and Ferocity to get the most out of it. Berserker’s, Assassin’s, and Marauder’s gear will be most useful – I prefer straight Marauder’s unless I have full raid buffs on my team.

It’s not that I want to entirely skip on using the other elements, just that I would rather use air over fire primarily. Atm, if it is single target, like bosses in the world, I use fire mostly since it does far more. I haven’t tried the other weapons out yet, but since I have a rare staff I figured I’d stick with it if the difference was minor. It’s good to know to change up my stats for sure though. I’ll try out the scepter/dagger usage and see which works better for me. Ty!
