Been looking at the cooldown reduction traits on my other class and I notice most of them get something extra. I think about have I play my elementalist vs my other classes .. With my other professions I am using my main weapon set 60-70% of the time. I am only spending less than half of that time in any attunement. Its rare for me to stay in one attunement more than kitten at a time or 20-30% of the time. Why do I need to even consider taking the alacrity traits?

They are half as useful and half as good compared to the recharge traits on other professions. To play a elementalist well, most game type requires you to not stay in one attunement for a prolong period of time. Why have they not been buff in some way?

I use the water one myself. Personally they need something else added to them. For example i would have them so they increase stats in that attunement something like:

Fire – Power
Air – Ferosity
Water – Healing Power
Earth – Condition Damage

I know Mesmer ones increase stats, not sure about others as i only have played Ele for the last 5-6months.

Or they could Make a Arcane one that decreases the cool down of ALL attunements. Replace Elemental Attunement, make it class mechanic. Remove arcane resurrection as it is useless and have the new trait there.

Then make the Alacrity traits increase stats while in that attunement. They could even make it so that it is increased the longer you are in that attunement or something. This of course would not work with Lingering Elements and going to another attunement would reset the counter.

Been comparing elementalist traits that are in the same tier of other profession traits this one just really stood out. Elementalist do not spend the same amount of time using a specific attunement as much other professions use a weapons set but we are rewarded less for it reducing the cds of it.

Another option could be – Increase the effectiveness of the 3 point traits, add them into the Alacrity traits and then add new 3 point traits.

What i would do:

Fire:
Move Embers Might into 3 point trait.
Combine Sunspot and Pyromancer’s Alacrity

Air:
Move Zephyr’s Focus into 3 point trait.
combine Electric Discharge and Aeromancer’s Alacrity

Earth:
Move Serrated Stones into 3 Point trait
Combine Earthen Blast and Geomancer’s Alacrity

Water:
Move Piercing Shards into 3 point trait
Combine Healing Ripple and Aquamancer’s Alacrity

They could then add a new Minor trait into Fire, Air, Earth and Water.

I use air alacrity trait because having shocking aura ready every 15 seconds after use is good. It’s the main reason I don’t run 2 earth anymore if I need some emergency defense swap to air for shocking. Also RTL on 15 sec cd on hit is good also.

It’s the only one I found worthwhile for me since air is the attunement I spend time in for extended periods. I also think the damage loss from stone splinters and 4 air is minimal. I haven’t done any math on it to confirm but 5 crit chance, 7 critical damage, and electric discharge I think keep me close in damage to stone splinters.
