Guild Wars 2

I have an ele currently, and she is my only character so far. I am thinking of getting another profession and race so I can test out different professions to a greater extent. I have played all classes to around lv8 ish, so I can get a feel for their wep skills and some util skills, but not really too in depth. I am looking for a new class to play and I am completely stuck. I currently play a d/d ele with a glyph build, focusing on switching for the different glyph effects. I don’t know what other classes could be like this, but I’m looking for a class I would enjoy. I don’t know which one to choose, so I have come to the forums. What alt class do you have from an ele, and what build are you using on it. And why would that class be a good transition from my type of ele?

Engi uses kits with dissent
Different skills in each. They play similar to ele in that sense.

I leveled warrior because it was nice to push out the same amount of damage without having to create three combo fields and switch attunements ten times. I’m leveling thief now so I can roam in WvW, and it has a very elementalist feel to it except it’s a lot easier.

I’d recommend either.

I chose Guardian after Elementalist, kind of felt the like the same play style with the constant dodging and healing.

I’d say Engi is the closest to that play-style than anything else in the game thanks to Kits and Utilities.

The rest of the classes really are stuck with “just” 2 weapon sets instead of the 4 the ele has and the (potentially) 5 the engi has (usually 3-4 : 2-3 kits + regular weaponset)

Kit engi no contest. If you really like elementalist mechanics. Imagine you had 0 attunne cd. Yeah, thats how awesome it is + you can rolfstomp thieves, especially bad ones. Necros can be a pain to fight but hey everytime a thief dies I’m a happy guy.

You can equip this gadget rocket boots and pick up your fights. You become very hard to catch unless you over commit to a fight.
