I love playing glass cannon in WvW with staff for all the obvious reasons , but I hate thieves , 1 v 1 etc because I die in a few hits. So i have been trying a new build that has pretty much all the damage of a GC but way more survival. I wear zerkers gear ruby orbs , (probably would like scholar but dont have them , and use bloodlust staff with a force sigil staff for when my bloodlust is full. I do 10 fire with the 10% fire damage, 25 air with blot to the heart , and +10% air damage (this one can probably be swapped out , I just love the air proc when im in 1 v1 and need quick damage.) 25 in earth for +%5 to bleeding foes and armor of earth the 25 gives 10% damage when your end is full , wich is nice when dropping meteor from saftey at range.
And then 10 water for the +10% damage when health is 90%. , The idea is when your end is full and your hps is full you hit like a glass cannon , in 1 v 1 you will shock people that you dont go down like a glass cannon in 2 hits because of all the earth you have , even if you have to dodge or your hps go down , cances are they are close to 33% life and bolt to the heart kicks in. I still do 6-7k crits with meteor. my crit is 53% , power without bloodlust charged up is 3,245. and i have 1,166 toughness.
you will notice how much better you survive against a thief when they initally burst you from stealth , and even tho the damage is a little bit less than full air / fire crit build , a dead ele = 0 dps so im ok with it. the loss of Arcane V is the hardest part , but really a few days without it and you get used to it. I use mistform , arcane shield , and arcane power ( for when I need meteor to crit on big groups) lemme know what you think and tweek it a bit. =)
